That was great!! I am…dare I say it? F.A.T. but I have a job and friends and a husband and biggest surprise of all I teach Yoga! I can often be really cruel to myself and my fat but Joy is right, its just a descriptive word, nothing more. Saying that, there are a couple of skirt I’d love to get back into! Lol! thanks and keep up the fabulous work Gala x
I worked at Express (an American clothing store mid-price and snobby). First off, bad work environment, no pay, and starving girls trying to fit into size 2’s. The worst part, was while I could still wear the clothes (not afford them though mind you) is that girls would come in that were bigger, and I had to turn them away! IT was the worst I felt that I couldn’t help them because that stupid company only made jeans up to a size 10, which didn’t even fit most women with hips (like me) well.
I should show this to my mom. She’s completely obsessed with how much I weigh! For a while, it bothered me so much that I almost stopped eating altogether, for fear of being called fat by someone in my family.
Now I realize that that’s just stupid. I’m 5’5” and I weigh somewhere in between 130 and 140 pounds. So what?! Who cares??
Thank you SO MUCH for putting this video on your blog. It’s a big help.
Oh woah yeah there’s some really mean comments on youtube about this video! =|
Not just about fat people though, it’s pretty stupid that some of the people who are defending the video say things like that was “spoken like a true puker” like calling people bulimic is any better! >=(
I think people should be able to be whatever weight they want to be wether it’s fat or thin as long as they’re healthy.
I’m naturally quite slim and I have some of the same problems. When I’m shopping I often can’t get my size but rather than people saying I’m too fat I should go find a plus size store or something people make sarcastic comments such as “Oh my god! She’s too thin to find her size! That must be such a torture for her!”
This is so annoying because I am that size and I didn’t do anything wrong to make myslef that size. Why should I miss out in stores?
i also really hate how people think it’s terrible to go up to someone and call them fat yet it’s totally fine to call a girl anorexic because she’s thin! If she’s acctually anorexic then she has a serious mental illness, it’s not something to just joke about. If she’s not then she probably can’t help it and is naturally that size, why should she have to put up with peoples bitter comments.
So yeah. There’s not such thing as too thin or too fat just healthy and unhealthy. I say as long as your healthy be what you are and be happy with it.
i was actually thinking about sending you this very video a few months ago! i don’t recall why i didn’t, though…
she is amazing :)
That was great! She seems like a really cool person.
that was fantastic. i’m not even fat and i use some of those excuses. heh.

What an attractive woman – intelligent, provocative, positive. Pure Joy!
that is fantastic – I work in fashion and have sent it to everyone I know – rock on Joy Nash!
