A Slogan For iCiNG

[ 14 June 2007 ]

Hello clever cupcakes,

I have been wracking my brains for two days trying to come up with a new slogan for iCiNG! It used to be “dress up, leave a false name, be legendary” but those aren’t my words (they’re Hakim Bey’s) & I feel like iCiNG has evolved past that! Plus… who’s using a false name? Not me!

Does anyone have any ideas?! How would you describe what we have here at iCiNG to your best friend, your mother, your hairdresser?

I appreciate your help very much! Merci beaucoup!

Love letters & feather headdresses,

  3. TOTALLY, how flattered am I?! I emailed the Manolo a couple of weeks ago & I was like, “Hi! Thank you for pimping out my website. I have decided that we’re friends now. Yay!”

    Hahaha.

  5. + Aesthetics for Royalty & the Commonwealth.

+ Aesthetics, Style, & Beauty for Iconoclasts

    + Drink tea & be fancy…with Icing…

(okay okay, I admit – I like the first two better)

    iCiNG the perfect accessory.

  8. iCiNG: Go Frost Yourself.

Just kidding… It’s from that mediocre movie “How to lose a guy in 10 days”, but seeing as how Americans call icing frosting, it just reminded me.

  9. Yeah, I never call it icing- always frosting. :) But it’s not all Americans, it changes depending on what part of the States you’re in.

I was thinking maybe something along the lines of “Putting the icing on your day” or…I dunno. Something less lame? haha.

  10. but he is so quotable!

“i am awake only in what i love & desire to the point of terror — everything else is merely shrouded furniture, quotidian anaesthesia, shit-for-brains, sub-reptilian ennui of totalitarian regimes, banal censorship & useless pain”
    — hakim bey

i love the current slogan. :)

  11. something french for sure! french is so glam; so fashion; so iCiNG! :)

  12. rachel — I love his writing but from what I’ve read online, he is a pederast & has been writing articles for NAMBLA for years. This does NOT sit well with me, genius though he may be. So I’m cool with appreciating his work, but I don’t know that I want to be associated with it… (See http://www.barbelith.com/topic/26209 for more info.)

  13. Barbelith is an amazing forum by the way, & definitely worth reading. At the moment membership is invitation only, which is a bit annoying. I used to have an account but I haven’t used it for years & don’t remember the username anymore!

  14. You serve up sensible advice . . . and we get to have fun with you (I.D.U.D!). So:

    “Pearls & Playtime”??

    “Sugar & Sense”?

    “Treats & Truths”?

    “iCiNG: Lap It Up”?

    Urghh . . end of week . . brain . . failure . . .

  15. You know what? I’ve always loved this sentence…

“Because getting dolled up should be the icing on top of an already beautiful life”

You wrote that! I love how you wrote “an already beautiful life”, and I always think of this sentence when I think of your blog. So, I suggest that, or some variation on it.
