Rachel emailed me about Hugs Scones & Kisses, saying…

Hugs, Scones & Kisses is what my grandmother and I used to say to each other at the end of every phone call, and that is why the project is called that. She died in September of Myeloma which is a type of bone marrow cancer. It was Myeloma UK who provided my Aunt & Grandfather with some of the information about the disease just before she died, which is why I want to raise money for them. As part of Hugs, Scones & Kisses bloggers can pledge to do things or hold events to sponsor the charity. So far we have a bloggers Christmas market being held in London this December, a blogger in Australia who feels uncomfortable wearing dresses and skirts but wants to step out of her comfort zone pledging to do so for a week and document it on her blog if she raises 100 AUD on the Just Giving page she has set up, and a blogging holding a blog sale of old clothes she does not want and donating 50% of the profits. Something else I’m planning on doing is opening an online Hugs, Scones & Kisses store where people can buy custom pieces designed by indie designers for the cause with all profits going to the charity.
