We Bite Back is at the very top of today’s Carousel because it’s important & awesome, & thank you so much, Eli, for linking me! Viz:
“Post-Pro-ana has finally arrived. This is the site that comes after the madness. We represent a worldwide virtual network of people proactively seeking recovery and happiness with the same dedication that proanas apply to seeking lower goal weights. We are striving to Postmodernize the online eating disorder community by challenging the pro-ana metanarrative. Stop shaming yourself for seeking support on eating disorder forums, and instead seek out one that strives to remain positive! We’ve got our wits, and we can take control of our lives by making better choices for ourselves. Sign up and read for yourself how many people are turning their lives around. Choose to be a success story yourself.”
Alice in Wonderland style from Hello Cocoa. Tooooooo cute.
Smaggle Style shows us how to make a necklace out of laddered stockings & tights — looks cool, too!
Raw desserts! I like the sound of raw-ified Ferrero Rocher (mmmm) & those caramello bars look good too…
Renewable clothing. Some people in the comments are all, “That isn’t reusable, what about the pens?!?!”, but I say, lighten up! It’s an amazing idea regardless! Looks fabulous.
Fashion-Ation is the brand spanking new fashion counterpart to The Cool Hunter. I like it very much, & I think you will too.
What benefits have you seen while raw? A discussion on the Give It To Me Raw forums.
Daphne Guinness is a stylish broad.
Pretties! Not many, but oooh, they’re good… BACK TO THE FUSCHIA (Jem-inspired!); Miles Aldrige’s Cabaret & finally, Tom Ford in Mr. Sex (totally not safe for work)!
Get your ashes hauled, get your leather stretched, get your noodle wet, get your oil changed… all this & more, when you read George Carlin’s sex euphemisms!
8 destructive thinking patterns and how to change them & 7 ways to be more spiritual without being religious are both pretty interesting reads.
6 Mistakes That Blew Up Your Job Interview & Michael Jordan’s 10 Secrets To Reaching the Top from Dumb Little Man, one of my all-time favourites.
Tina Su writes about How To Keep A Relationship.
...& if her advice doesn’t work, check out How To Cope When You Lose An ‘Anchor’ from We The Change!
A fabulous apartment in Brooklyn... with a catch. “BEDROOM MUST BE SHARED WITH APPROX. 700 LB. ADULT MALE SILVERBACK GORILLA...”
Fall Trends from WhoWhatWearDaily. Mmmm, pretty…

George Carlin! So funny.
Ooh, I love that Alice in Wonderland style!
I was going to mention that Michael Jordan article earlier this week, because I really fell in love with it. It added such a boing in my step!
any idea how to get ahold of a copy of that bergdorf goodman magazine featured in fashion nation?
I love the Alice in Wonderland article and the “renewable” clothing, and that craigslist ad is classic.
I like the Cabaret photos but unfortunately can’t see the BACK TO THE FUSCHIA ones, as the poster’s Photobucket limit exceeded. Boo. I actively dislike the Tom Ford one, I must say. Man in suit, naked woman/woman in nappy…just seems boring and exploitative to me.
thank you for bringing We Bite Back to my attention.
i especially love the “Recovery = life” on the first page.
go gala :)
I was definitely disturbed, reading the craigslist post.
I don’t think most sane women could share ANYTHING with a 700 lb. ANYTHING, be it human or no.
& I love George Carlin more than anything. If he weren’t dead, I’d marry him.
thanks for posting the link to we bite back, it’s def. something that i needed to see
feather — Not a clue! You could try calling them.
Lady Julianne le Fay — I think Tom Ford is so incredibly sexy. I love the shoot too, I think it’s hot :> Shame about the Back To The Fuschia shoot, grr! I wonder if someone will re-post it. I want to see huge images of it, the ones that were posted were pretty small unfortunately.
kakeline — Kisses to you!
Marie — I love the way they say, “It’s never been a problem for any other tenants…”. So funny. Voracious sexual appetite?! My god! HORRIFYING!
katya — I hope you find it helpful & inspiring! I’m so glad it exists!
gala youare the best linker in the entire history of the universe! just thought you should know! i love carousel!
Ooh Gala. Thank you for the link to the Daphane Guiness images.
I love her style. I dream of dressing like her.
The necklace out of tights is truly inspiring.
I would love to make something out of … something haha
Ah the necklace comes at such a good timing! I was wearing my bright blue tights today but hmm i own them for more then 6 years and its starting to show so i was already trying to find another way to use them!! _
Plus thank you for the Steven Aitchison-reads they are very inspiring and i’m a bit amazed that their are soo many destructive-thinking-patterns x
My week ended fabulous
because it’s this week that I discovered galadarling and I absolutely love it.
xoxo
Great Carousel! Loved the Alice in Wonderland style, and the happiness tests. Nothing I like more than spending hours taking quizzes about myself… :)
Hello sweetie!
Thank you so much for the link – I’m really glad you enjoyed the Alice in Wonderland style post and I hope that all of your lovely nonpareils feel the same! Feel free to shoot me a line any time if you want to chat – I always love to meet more fabulously cool girls like yourself!
Thanks again and keep up the sugar-coated sweetness~
Always,
Penelope
This is off topic, but I just wanted to say:
Hi Gala! Congratulations on being one of the fifty most influential female bloggers!
& have you heard Macromantics? I’ve been meaning to ask for about a year, but for some reason I think you’d like her?
Oh wow! Thank you so much for linking me. I’m all blushy…
xxx
The Craiglist ad is down, and the comments on it have me intruiged! What did it say? =D
I actually saw a recent mag at the store the other day that had a different Jem inspired photo shoot as well.. the fashion spread was called ‘Truly Outrageous’ and the model seriously looked like Jem! So awesome! B xo
Ditto Emma :( I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have minded sharing with a gorilla..
Regarding the fall trends: Oooh, patterned tights and sexy 60’s hair.. :D Chain links and lace dresses… I’m swooning!
Also, lol at power shoulders…
