Tra la la, links for your perusal & enjoyment!
Yo Donna photoshoot by Eugenio Recuenco, photographer of the amazing fairy tale shoot!
If you want to watch something… scary… try A Shot At Love With Tila Tequila. She’s like a less colourful version of the beloved Shrinkle! (Shrinkle is one of the coolest girls on the internet, hands down — I wish she was on this show instead!) Anyway, I think it’s some kind of reality television first, because she’s bisexual so there are women & men competing for her, um, heart. & the men don’t know they are competing with women! Aaaahhaah! Oh, I shouldn’t find this so entertaining, but I do. I love this show! The shame is palpable!
WhoWhatWearDaily are giving away an Elizabeth & James (the latest fashion line from Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen) sequinned dress! (How incredible!) I would love to be the recipient but unfortunately the contest is only open to American residents. However, if you do live in the U S of A & would like to get your lusty little mitts on it, just go to their website & sign up for their newsletter before the 29th of October! If you win, I expect photos, okay?!
More bad television. SuperMADE: Cheerleaders is about whipping cheerleaders into shape. Cheerleaders + MTV = a good time. Come on, you know it’s true. There are surly teenagers & tears/sweat & people calling one another “braindead”! Ooooh! “We’re fierce on 3!” & then, if that’s not enough, watch SuperMADE: Fashion Journalist. God, I love MTV.
A little while ago, someone wrote to me asking for good sex education links. I am THRILLED to announce that the always incredible Violet Blue has recently released a series called Open Source Sex Ed. For a measly US$5 you’ll get 9 chapters of a book, all as podcasts, read in her sultry voice. The chapters include information on the G spot, physiology for pleasure, & a whole lot more. I bought it yesterday & listened to it all afternoon. It is fantastic. Check it out.

Coilhouse is a new online magazine which I like very much! It describes itself as a love letter to alternative culture, written in an era when alternative culture no longer exists. And because it no longer exists, we take from yesterday and tomorrow, from the mainstream and from the underground, to construct our own version. Très bien, oui?! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
Really cool illustrations, found via Fashion Nation!
Drool-worthy interiors courtesy of This Is Glamorous. Yum!

I Love Victoria Beckham!

I’m glad I’m not the only one who loves Shrinkle :]
I LOVE her big time!
To be honest, I’m not a big fan of Tila Tequila. Nor of the “take your clothes off on the internet to get slightly famous!” approach she seems to use. BUT I do think the show is unique and very entertaining :).
I looooove that clip of America’s Next Top Model! The look on those girls’ faces when James St James walks in is priceless!
Miri — Before I saw the show, all I knew about Tila was that she was a Myspace celebrity. But she actually comes across quite well, she seems fun & likeable. I also think that, while the show is pretty blatant sex-for-ratings, she’s doing a good thing.
I love Eugenio Recuenco! His shoots are so surreal and beautiful!
MTV is my guilty pleasure =)
You know what’s a fun way of killing your crummy mood?
When you wake up in the morning, looking completely fuzzled, smile your most ridiculous smile, point at a mirror, and yell, “YOU’RE GOING TO HAVE A GOOD DAY!”
You’ll end up laughing and feeling happier.
My biology teacher told me that trick.
:D
Thank you for the support! More goodness to come.
JAMES ST. JAMES!
I’m so glad you posted that clip Gala… I didn’t get a chance to watch cycle 5 and I didn’t know they featured James on it, so that was quite a treat!
How do you do it? I clicked on EVERY link you posted today:)
I love James St. James and I know you mentioned a while back you watched Party Monster…I LOVE that movie!
Seth Green was a treat in it.
oh i love america’s next top model!!! :DD
It’s such a great show. ^^
And the 12th is my birthday! YAY.
Tila.. she’s my friend Linda Strawberry’s best gal pal. While I do appreciate she’s very much a self-made success (with a little higher help of course), I don’t dig her look or how she markets herself, but it’s so L.A. trashy, it works.
Eugenio Recuenco’s pics are amazing! They’re so visually stimulating – I think it may be the tiny details and the textural differences throughout that rev my creative engine! Thank you so much for posting that link, Gala :)

Great post to wake up too!! but without starting a verbal war I must say that I find one of the Yo Donna photo’s offensive. Painting up, like the B&W minstrels, is unneccessary and not cool. I do like the buzz-boy piccie though. Very Quirky!
Love the gorgeous interiors from This is Glamourous! Thanks for sharing. :)
Retro.Bunny — Haha, just reading that improved my mood! That’s a fantastic trick, I love it!
dayna — I looooove him. & I love their reactions to him, hahahah.
Shannon — Aw, yay! Full marks to me!
Jess — Yeah, he was incredible. It made me adore him.
Savannah — Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to yooooou! Happy birthday, Savannah! Happy birthday to YOU!
Pants — I really don’t know a lot about her. I know she is a model & whatnot, but that’s about the extent of my knowledge. Realistically though, as long as she’s not taking advantage of other people or harming anyone, which I don’t think she is, then I think good on her. I find strong business acumen, ambition & self-made successes very attractive & impressive! In fact, those are traits I admire above a lot of others.
selchi — Oh, I didn’t even really notice that! Hmm…
oh my gosh. ‘a shot at love with tila tequila’ is so addictive.
i have never found myself sucked into a show of this kind before, hehe.
and i second shannon’s “how do you do it?!” – all the content you link to seems perfectly relevant and almost ALWAYS something i end up addicted to :D
keep up the good work gala, and i hope melbourne is being kind to you xx
Oh god I had forgotten about whiney Cassandra…
JAMES ST. JAMES! EEE! haha
MEH it won’t let me watch tila tequila…it says the copyright won’t let people outside of the states watch it…so how did you? :P
nothing makes me happier than a list of funny/weird/pretty thing to look at online.
and yours are the choicest of all!
much love. xox
