Carousel — Week Ending 16th March 2007

Apparently, my short blonde haircut is all the rage. …Even Pink is doing it! (Ugh!)

I Tokyomade for a whole lot of reasons, but at the moment I am thrilled that they translate the best of the Japanese fashion magazines! Spring style in Zipper magazine. (I buy the magazines myself, but I can’t read them, so…!)

The shoes in this Vogue Paris shoot are incredible. Nice photographs too, but the outfits reek of the 1980s & quite frankly, I was born then, I’m not really interested in slicked-back hair & hammer pants.

Meg from Faking Good Breeding did a guest post over at The Bargain Queen which I think is great. Discount designer labels: bargain or fashion mistake? The Stella McCartney collection went on sale at Target on Monday morning & it was craziness. I’m so glad I didn’t go. I got really excited about it initially but when I saw the collection online, I remembered that I wouldn’t wear Stella’s designs if someone paid me! So not my style.

Also, Faking Good Breeding is having a competition to win $40 to spend at Sephora! Woohoo! I’m about to enter & you should too. (If you live somewhere Sephora won’t ship to, she’ll make it an Amazon voucher.) The site is really great & Meg is doing a very good job with it.

A new fragrance from Lolita Lempicka! Available from May 15th. I’m so excited, I LOOOOVE Lolita Lempicka’s fragrances. Listen to this: “A fragrance exuding the beauty of the ocean coupled with the myth of the mermaid. A fresh oriental elixir, overwhelming the senses and embracing the skin with the salty kiss of the Everlasting Flower. Top notes: Bitter Orange & Cinnamon. Heart notes: Immortal & Vanilla. Base notes: Precious Woods, Solar Notes & Musks.” Yum!

Also, with un petit peu of Googling, I found out that Lolita Lempicka has also released a special set of fragrances called Les Caprices de Lolita (Lolita’s Whims). It features the normal Lolita Lempicka scent & three additional bottles in violet, licorice & almond scents. Sounds fantastic & it was launched this month… though I have no idea where one is supposed to buy it from.

Also, for fans of the surreal, I present: Dada perfume which smells of nothing! I am overwhelmed with joy! How greattt is that?!

More perfume. (Sorry, I just discovered The Scented Salamander & it is great.) There is a new fragrance called Persephone Perfume Oil with the scent of dark chocolate, blackberry, pomegranate, sandalwood & royal purple flowers. Drool. Sounds good for winter.
