Featuring more baked goods & Japanese kids dressed pirates than ever before!

<3 Japan + Johnny Depp = a good time. & you know it.

<3 Julie in Japan writes about a really cool way of commemorating someone’s life.

<3 Vampire cupcake! Way, way too awesome. I added this girl’s journal to my friends list because I HAVE to keep up with her ingenious horror-themed baking.

<3 Ellen Von Unwerth’s “Omahyra & Boyd” shoot. Not safe for work, etc., but very hot!

<3 A t-shirt for Haruki Murakami fans. I want to buy this for my boyfriend.

<3 Ellen Von Unwerth’s “Girls In Their Own Style” shoot. (Yes, I love Ellen.)

<3 Faking Good Breeding had a bra epiphany! A lot of women underestimate the importance of wearing a bra that fits. It’s the base for your clothing, so if it doesn’t fit, everything you put over the top is going to look wrong! As your body changes, your bras should too. Get a professional fitting every year!

<3 A drag queen birthday cake!

& finally, a special treat…

“I would like to introduce myself ~ I’m Andrea, aka Spacegirl, from San Francisco ~ and I wanted to let you know that I am a huge fan of your blog. I read it every day. In fact, I’ve been so inspired by your dedication to your blog that I decided to start my own Daily Outfit blog! It’s all your doing, lady ;-) I’ve discovered it’s a great way to help me keep track of my own outfits, since it’s soooo easy to forget and so easy to mis-remember the details. It’s been really fun so far! You can see it here: http://dailyoutfit.blogspot.com/

Super-love & cupcakes,
Gala <3

  1. My 16th is in 31 days, and man-oh-man do I want me a man! (A cake man, that is …) My friends always make fun of me for being a gay man in a girl’s body (I love Elton John, Cher, musical theatre, feminine guys, little dogs and drag queen fashion) so I’d love to make myself a drage queen cake. I’m so excited! =D

  6. Funny, the article on bras just made me go into the bathrooms at work, take off my bra, put it on again properly and tighten the straps, boy what a difference!

  7. I live in New York as well and went to Intimacy for the same bra revelation – I had only been wearing one size too big on the band, but had been convinced I was wearing the right size. I felt like they gave m ten years back! I went home and threw out TWELVE bras, because I couldn’t stand them anymore. I realized I’d been buying so many because nothing worked. So you’re actually saving money in the end :)

  11. Thanks for the bra fitting link! A few days ago I was horrified to discover that a good friend of mine has been wearing a B cup when her boobies are actually quite massive. I just sent her the article, hopefully she will have her own epiphany.

  12. I hang out with mostly men, so they don’t understand bras or boobs… Well, ‘cept that they like to touch them. I basically have no one to bra and panty shop with (without comments), and it’s so nice to see that other people KNOW the importance of the perfect fitting bra. I’m a D cup, verging on a DD, and because i wear bras that FIT me, it makes my chest not only look super fantastic, but it actually makes it look like my breasticals aren’t as big as they are. People always try to tell me tricks “if you wear a size bigger” or (which is the worst possible thing) “wear a size smaller with a sports bra over it.” Trying to squish or hide them is not going to get you anywhere. The perfect fit will.

    A good bra is everything.

  13. Tennis Chic.

Wool jumpers over shoulders is fluorescent colours is totally where its at. It makes other people thing you are joking and is a great way to show off a good skin day.

The great thing with tennis chic is that its super fun and comfortable. Get in character and speak with a funny accent. If feeling super in character stick some tennis socks DOWN YOUR SHORTS. Wearing colours makes one’s day a bit brighter so don’t be scared to match yellow and purple.

Today because its gay pride parade (Which I wouldnt normally go to but its a party in a strange land with some people I know so what the hell, try new things right?) I’m wearing a yellow jumper over a sailor striped polo with jeans and yellow flat dress shoes from Selfridges because its coooold. I have a peach coloured scarf to go around my neck. Its a shame that I naturally look so masculine, because I’d make a great camp sailor.

I spent last night at home with a green face mask on writing in my journal and having a go a tapping so that my head could be all clear today and I can just go have fun i.e I get to go and kiss boys, platonicly of course.

  14. Kayla Lane — Send that link to your friends, then! & then show us what they come up with for your cake :D

Kerry — Yay! I usually get the sales assistants to alter the straps of my new bras for me, because I never know how low they should sit. I’m happy to take their advice!

Stubby — Argh! Terrible! I know that women with big boobs can suffer, & wearing a badly-fitting bra is only going to make your life worse! I think it’s quite common for women to get an attack of vanity in the changing room & insist on wearing a size (not cup) smaller… it never does you any favours!

Davide — Thank you! I just put that in my tennis chic article :>

  15. I have got to show my mum that cake…she is really into cake decorating (she is quite sought after for it too!) and that’s a great subversion of the Barbie cakes she used to make for me when I was a kid!
