finished?
Charles Bukowski.
the critics now have meCharles Bukowski.
drinking champagne and
driving a BMW
and also married to a
socialite from
Philadelphia’s Main Line
which of course is going to prevent me
from writing my earthy
and grubby stuff.
and they might be
right,
I could be getting to be
more like them,
and that’s as close to
death as you can
get.
we’ll see.
but don’t bury me yet.
don’t worry if I drink with
Sean Penn.
just measure the poems
as they come off the
keyboard.
listen only to them.
after this long fight
I have no intention of
quitting short.
or late.
or satisfied.
Love letters & feather headdresses,

oh charles. i love that man.
Ditto.
Happy Sunday!
dear god i love that man.
Love it!
Heheee, Gala is this about yourself too? ;)
Anyway super cool, couldn’t agree more! smack :)
golden! :)
Way to give it to the losers who tell you you’ve sold out! I like this poem, I can relate to it as well…
LOVE HIM!
That poem is amazing.
Charlie always knew exactly how to say it.
i love him.
perfect.
i had lupe fiasco “superstar” chorus playing in the background when i read it the second time, and it made the read that much more awesome.
Damn this man was awesome. Every poem I read makes me like his style of writing more.
Charles Bukowski is stalking me via the internet today. I have the last line of “For Jane” tattooed on my arm, and one of my former students finally looked it up on the internet, posted the text, and tagged me in it on facebook. So via the notification email, I woke up to Charles Bukowski telling me good morning – and now this lovely (?? he’d roll over if he heard me use that choice of diction) poem, which I also adore.
Maybe it all means I need another tattoo…
:)
BUKOWSKI!!! Haha :) Perfect picture of him, by the way.
Wow! I am certainly in the minority. I find Bukowski’s writing appalling. I won’t even have it on my bookshelf. Different strokes, I suppose.
Good stuff woman!

...“I have no intention of quitting short”
= my mantra for this week.
