[ 13 July 2007 ]
This afternoon I received a package from the incredible Nubby Twiglet! She sent me a singlet from her newest collection Modern Baroque. I’m so stoked!

Nubby’s ‘golden flats’ tank (printed on gorgeous ribbed fabric, love love LOVE IT)
Gold pencil skirt
Black cardigan from Ricochet (buttoned behind my back to turn it into an almost-bolero jacket)
Chinese-print wedges
Gold & pink headscarf
Knotted pearls & ‘GALA’ rhinestone rings

Diary of a coffee addict.
Fuelling iCiNG since December 2006!
Here are some reasons I love Nubby:
She is a Virgo! (I am totally biased.)
She works her booty off.
She loves Michael Jackson!
She read my mind & sent me a beautiful mouth-pill tote bag which is EXACTLY what I needed for carrying my Macbook!
She is totally sweet & a genius.
So if you like the look of her stuff, please don’t hesitate in ordering it, I promise you will not be disappointed! Okay, end of pitch! I’m going to get a hair consultation at Toni & Guy… new haircut tomorrow! Eep!
Super-love & cupcakes,
Gala ![]()

International Dress Up Day #005 -- Gala's Pictures

Very pretty! Though it’s hard to tell the colour of the skirt in the first pics.
Will definitely take a look at that site.
emilyy — Yeah, taking photos of anything gold in my living room when it’s overcast is a bit tricky! I tried to tweak it in Photoshop to make it more ‘gold’ but it’s beyond my abilities!
Man, you look good. I could eat you up!
I LOVE that cardigan; I am a total sucker for anything with straps dangling off it. And the way you’ve bolero-ed it – too clever!
where in the world did you get those rings? They are so fantastic.
Nadine — Ahh merci! Ricochet is great for dangling straps & weird bits.
jen — Girlprops.com ! They were pretty cheap, too. I loooooove them, talk about a new obsession, phew!
As always, FAB, especially the shoes and skirt :)
Oh my gosh, I am too glad that you button your cardi behind your back. I do it heaps, and my friends all give me odd looks!
I like how you went with a chunkier shoe to juxstapose the gold flats on the tank.
Fun and elegant!

Really liking Nubby’s stuff, gonna buy one of the vest or t shirts (maybe both) if she can deliver to the uk, will have to check that out. Nice outfit though gala, any idea on how you are getting your hair cut?
Ohmygosh WOW I love the outfit! Love it!
And I will probably try bolero-izing my own cardigans when it gets chilly here in the states :D

I thought it was worth mentioning that Nubby’s shipping fees are awesome – free in the US & $5 international, no matter the order size.
Wow, I love this look! Even your coffee cup matches!
Virgos do rule..and Nubby’s tank is beautiful! Excellent outfit.
That cardigan is so pretty! And it’s different, which is nice.
Also, I’m biased towards Virgos, too. I’m a Virgo, my husband is, my best friend is…you get the picture. So I laughed pretty hard when I read that.
And I can’t wait to see the new haircut.
I need that top in my life!
Damsel — I’ve never done it before, yesterday was the first time! But I’m quite stoked with it. Initially I tried wearing it around my waist, like a second skirt, but it just made my hips/thighs look wide!
LauraJ — I’m sure she ships to the UK! I’m going to get my hair cut into a modern bob. I’m prayiing it won’t end up looking too boring!
India — I promise you it is not unintentional :D
Jenna Nicole — Thank you!
Brittany — Team Virgo! Rah rah!
SamiDoinDriveBys — Yes, you do! Go forth & purchase!
Okay I feel like a dork for not posting up until this point…I’m a long time reader, love the blog. But I HAVE to ask, HOW ON EARTH do you take such great full-body shots!? Do you use a tripod? Natural light? Wow!
The outfit is fabulous, as well :)
Hey Gala, I love you to bits and pieces, I print your articles and keep them in my purse for a good read, but, I too am a Michael Jackson fan. This is not a bad thing thankfully. We just need to organize a MJ uprising where we walk down the street, meet in the center of a major city, and start dancing Thriller. Agree?
i can’t wait to see your new haircut!
i’ll be waiting for your next post :)
Sarah — Oh, thank you! I use a tripod & a remote control, & usually take about 200… out of which I pick 4 or 5 :> It’s all natural light, which is great but on overcast days I have a hard time. I’m thinking about investing in some proper lighting & have asked my genius photographer friend for advice!
Caitlin Marie — Yayyyy MJ! I am so keen for an uprising. How great would a Michael Jackson flashmob be?! It must happen! I think everyone who participates needs a red vinyl jacket & some sparkly white socks worn with loafers. Plastic noses & crotch grabbing optional!
