Daily Outfit -- 13th June 2009
[ 15 June 2009 ]

On Saturday afternoon, I received an invitation to have dinner at The Standard Grill — the brand spanking new restaurant in André Balazs’ Standard hotel in New York City’s meatpacking district. The restaurant is so new, in fact, that it isn’t actually open yet. They offered me a table for four, so I called some friends & we went out.
Here’s what I wore.
Pink jewelled butterfly headband by Tarina Tarantino
Holographic unicorn Christmas decoration as necklace
Black Midsummer Night dress from ModCloth
Sequinned hooded jacket from Forever 21
Black stockings
Pink Too2Late watch
Swarovski crystal bracelet
Tarina Tarantino rings
Ankle boots from TopShop (hello, in these I am 5’11”!)
AMAZING food was eaten, fantastic cocktails were quaffed & a jolly good time was had by all. I mean, look at the place. Totally brilliant & beautiful.

We also had an impromptu photoshoot on the floor by the elevators… Molly & Chloe made for excellent dinner companions!
Big smooches to my friends at The Standard. I love you!
Love letters & feather headdresses,

Those shoes are so very amazing.. and it looks like the restaurant was too (& the company, marvellous night all in all, yes?).
Loving the how you’re wearing your hair short at the minute.
More detail on impromptu floor photoshoots, please!? Hehe!
Gala, I must say, you look utterly and completely at home under twinkly lights like that.
:]
The first picture has awesome trippy lights duuuude. Seriously. I like your shoes, and LOVE the hair piece. I have one similar to that. Uber cutness!
5’11” aye? In heals I’m like… 5’6”. LMAO!

Those heels are killer! I’m 6’2 flatfoot so I’m basically a freak of nature in heels… I wish I could wear them though.
HAAAAAAAALLELUJAH
I have absolutely fallen in love with those supercute boots! :>
And the unicorn necklace is back! Ahh!
Love your outfit, keep up the fantastique fashion!
xoxo
P.S. Those Doc Martens from the other day… heaven! :D
Kate — Thanks miss! I am itching to get my extensions back, though…
Birdie — Haha! More pictures here! www.flickr.com/photos/galadarl…
Cait Hagar — Well I’m 5’7” without shoes, haha. I always want to be taller!
brilynn — You should rock your freak-of-nature-ness & be proud, I totally would if I was that height!
I love the way the lighting in the first photo makes your hair look flame red, such a different look! And I’m coveting your jacket – I’m going sequin crazy at the moment and can’t wait for the new blue Betsey Johnson sweater number to become available. :)
SO in love with those shoes.
What an amazing offer – you look absolutely STUNNING, Gala! And I, too, am totally with the Short Hair Brigade – it’s gorgeous!
Really nice outfit! Plus, THOSE shoes points are more than gorgeous ;)
I also like your friends Chloe’s dress!

Gala,
You are seriously my idol! I want to be your shadow!
You look so amazing. I think the look is funky cupcake queen meets chic city girl. Well I for one, am in LOVE!! Another fabulous ensemble, Ms. Darling
I do believe your shoes & my shoes are cousins! High five – ... or height five?!
How lovely!
love your boots baby!
Ummm, hello?
No mention of Stan, and a link my twitter where we first fell in love? Je suis triste, bien sur! I’m so glad you had a good time. Can’t wait to have you back again.
xo

those boots you’re sporting are really cute! also, looks like an awesome place & awesome company! & your hair… lovely! i wish i could wear my hair that short but it makes me look ridiculous & like a boy… oh well.
Wow! You look really lovely :) In the first pic your hair looks red instead of pink! It looks fantastic!!!! The pink looks gorgeous too obviously, but if you were ever after a change, the red definitely gets my vote! :D
Those ankle boots are de-lovely! The lights in the first shot are beautiful. :)
brilliant!! every time i see your pictures, i get inspired to dye my hair pink, haha… but it probably wouldn’t be the most intelligent idea, since i’m trying hard to get a job — ANY job here right now. suppose i should look a little professional.
ya know, have you ever considered auctioning off one of your superb outfits for charity?? haha
I am so jealous of your life! That dinner sounds like it was amazing. I love the lights on the ceiling.
And what lovely, inspiring friends!
Looks fantastic! Love the lights, and that dress is an absolute dream!
You always look so cute! And your hair makes me so excited to dye mine an awesome color. Looks like an amazing restaurant, even the lights are fabulous looking!
Mmmm, so lucky to have been there!! You look great!
Beautiful boots! Actually, the entire outfit is awesome!
You look fantastique!!
Being tall must be nice, I wish I could tower over everyone ;)
Cute photos!
Btw, did we ever find out who won that shoe contest ages ago?
I am so in love with your sequined jacket, I’ve seen it in some of your other outfits – I really want one!
You look great :3~
shoes are hot!
I love the outfit. The black and pink is awesome. The photos are awesome. :)

Aw, Gala, you look simply magnifique! I’m glad you had such a special dinner and an all-around great time!
I am also on the “Gala’s-short-hair-rocks-my-socks” brigade.
Psst. Brilynn? I’m 6’2, too, and I hear what you’re sayin’. One quote that always helps get me through the day is “It’s better to be looked over than overlooked.” High five to you!
What a fun evening out! You look ravishing as always, as do your beautiful companions.
Hey Gala Darling!
As always our stuff looks great on you! :)

Hey Gala! I adore your site! Tell me, what size do you wear in Forever 21 clothing? I’m thinking of ordering and I suspect we have the same size.
Linn — A small or an extra-small depending on what it is & what the cut’s like. If you’re going to order things, you can always send them back if they’re the wrong size :>
