Daily Outfit -- 14th September 2007
[ 14 September 2007 ]

Do you like my new turban?! It’s from Mimco & I am totally smitten with it. My outfit is fairly low-key to offset it…
Mimco turban
Black t-shirt from American Apparel
Grey/black pants from Workshop (which I barely ever wear so they are part of my personal Wardrobe Taming!)
Manolo Blahnik high heels
Tarina Tarantino ring

The weather just turned to rubbish & I have to go out in it! Screech! I am going to throw my long grey Country Road cardigan over the top & hope for the best.

This is really just me posing with my PAINTING BY FAWN GEHWEILER (hyperventilate!!!) that my boyfriend bought me for my birthday! Asdfghjkl! I am spoilt. Now I just have to find somewhere to hang it…
Love letters & feather headdresses,

TURBAN!!! Awesome! (Also quite freakishly like one of my Grandma’s.) That grey is fantastic on you. And I love the long line of the T-shirt.
Awww! I’ve seen some of Fawn’s work at Outre before and I adore her style! Friends of ours bought us a Mark Ryden limited print for a wedding present last year and I’m dying to get back over to Melb for a bit of a buying spree!
Have you seen the limited edition satchel with her work on it through Jeremyville?

It’s adorable!

very stolen from the boys meets swami, its pretty rad
i just stopped in at Outre to admire the new pieces… i lovelovelove Fawns paintings but i’m saving my money for the kozyndan exhibit next month.
Eeek! So effortlessly chic in black & grey. I loooove your Mimco turban. Sometimes I feel like I live in a fashion wasteland out here in rural WA… Red dirt just ruins my high heels sigh But I will muster all the Gala-Spirit I can & wear my black peep toes to do the groceries this afternoon! Hehe.
Kx
wow, that turban is gorgeous. how much did it cost? i must have one!
that painting is faaaaaantastic!
also you look great, as always.
Nadine — Haha, I love that your Grandma has turbans too! This one is great, so much easier than tying a scarf, you just throw it on & it’s done.
Pants — Yeah, I have! I’m a big fan of Fawn’s work, I have two of her girls tattooed on my arm ;> Outre has some amazing things, I identify with you wanting to go on a spending spree!
Charm — Mmm yeah, I like kozyndan too!
Kristy J — Thank you, dolly! I’m sorry to hear about your dirty heels but am proud of you for representin’ even in the boonies!!
Megan — Merci! I felt a bit underdressed with my big cardigan on, maybe if I had a blazer it would have felt more put-together!
Summer — It was $119 AU :>
bluebird — I love it, it was my favourite one on the wall! My boyfriend is so sneaky. & thanks!
wow, i’m not usually into turbans but that one is fun!
and that painting has encouraged me to go back for a second look at fawn’s work. the first time i went i didn’t really like it, probably because i don’t like crass stuff in artworks, and the first one i saw happened to be kinda gross.
LOVE the turban, Gala. you look beautiful!
What a gorgeous turban! Looks fabulous on you – I am SO happy your birthday went so well! You are glowing….
Incidentally, I have been searching for apple cider vinegar ever since you recommended it and have had no luck at all. Where do you find it?
Great choices, you look fab :)
Wow, that painting is FANTASTIC!
And I love those grey pants!
Hiya, i think the turban looks really good on ya!
Love the turban!
adele — Fawn’s work was crass? Are you sure you’re thinking of the right person? Her stuff is all sweet girls & swans & hot air balloons & stuff… If it was in Outre, Fawn only has one wall, the rest is all by other people… !
Stella Mayfair — Thank you honey!
Ammu — Merci darling! I have always found apple cider vinegar in the supermarket (just in the vinegar section) but you could try a health food shop…
Malin — Thanks very much love!
Miri — I have two pairs the exact same cut, my other ones are blue. For some reason I barely ever wear them, I think I feel like they bunch up in a strange way when I walk but I wore them all day & they were okay, so maybe it was all in my head!
Iswari — Well, thank you muchly!
Helen — Mwah! Merci!
Gosh, you are beautiful, and that outfit looks amazing on you.
I wish I had the extra money for a bit of a shopping spree right now, my wardrobe is terrible, but I can never find anything I like when I go shopping anyways.
OMG, that turban is wonderful!
i JUST bought a turban on ebay. what a coincidence?
wow I don’t think I can look that gorgeous in a turban!!
Neat; the low-key outfit really makes the turban (and tiny puffs of pink hair at the top) super-noticeable. Love it!
eek.
i hate turbans.
other than that, your outfit is fab.
This is what I love about you: you are fearless and you remind me of this model who does self-portraits in a very brave way. I’ve got a link to a video about her photography on my blog today. Thank you for always being cutting edge and so unique.
Yeah – I’m not a big fan of turbans… but I think our sense of style is just different. I’m not a big fan of head scarfs either, and you wear those a lot. Your head scarf looks are more appealling to me than the turban look, but I can see where a turban may be easier (no tying involved).
Bee — Aww, that’s very kind of you. & maybe you need to look in different shops!
Lady Julianne Eternity — Thanks! Oh, & re: your comment about how I do my eye makeup, I am going to post something about it soon!
xtina — Oooh la la, what sort?
vanessa — Bet you could!
etoware sora — Thank you very much!
iAmtheWalrus — Um, thanks ;>
Liberty Post — I went to your blog to find the link but I think I missed it! Boo! & thank you for your comment, I try to mix it up & try new things as much as I can!
Guest — Well, everyone’s individual style is what makes the world such an interesting place.
I love the turban – and it would be great for bad hair days. Do you know if Mimco have a UK stockist?
do you mind me asking what size shirts you wear from american apparel?
i like my shirts to fit the way yours does in this photo and from what i can tell we are around the same build.
i want so many shirts from their site, but im scared to order the wrong size!
Love the turban on you.
Yay! I impatiently await.
I adore the turban. And I was just watching this French film called Les Parapluies de Cherbourg (The Umbrellas of Cherbourg). It was filmed in 1964, every single word is sung, and it is all in gloriously bright bright colors.
I thought it seemed like something you might like.
oh, maybe i am a tad confused with someone else (blush)
Catherine — It’s fabulous for bad hair days! I think I’m going to wear it all the time! I don’t know if Mimco have a UK stockist, maybe best to email them through their website.
Danique — I’m not entirely sure but I think that t-shirt is a men’s small. I like to buy men’s sizes because they’re longer in the body than women’s things. Anyway, I am pretty sure AA have a generous returns policy, so if something is the wrong size you can always send it back!
WendyB — Thank you honeypuff!
Sherry — Ooooh, that sounds magnifique! I will check it out!
adele — Maybe so :D Easy mistake to make!
Whoa killer outfit! Your makeup looks awesome stunning as well – what blusher are you wearing?!
=) xxxxx
Lo — Thank you! I’m not wearing any blusher actually, I don’t wear it very often :>
Wow! You have the most perfect skin =o!
O Gala I have been meaning to tell you, that that wonderful EFT you showed us in a previous post is tottaly clearing up my skin!!
Wow, Thanks so much for introducing it to me – I LOVE YOU!!!
XXXX
It’s my favorite of all your turbans. I love the pants on you so much! Beautiful girl come to Tokyo, you’d love it here!
Julie
i love the black outfits you put together!
i could totally live in this outfit here!
these would be my “secure-making clothes…”
I just had a little peak at Fawn’s work – it reminds me of Tara McPherson’s art, have you seen it before? You should definitely check it out if not, I think you might like it.

Those pants are awesome.
