I am layers central! The photos aren’t very detailed, I’m sorry, you’ll have to visualise it in your head!
Pink slip dress
Black military-style shirt dress, worn open as a jacket
Long, Japanese-inspired skirt by Obi (New Zealand)
Black legwarmers from American Apparel
Pink heart jandals
Pearls, lucite bangles & Tarina Tarantino ring & immaculate black manicure (it was a home job, thank you, thank you, hold the applause)
I suspect that if I leave the house, I’ll throw my long grey cardigan over the top…
Super-love & cupcakes,

Oh god I completely love this – you look amazing! The shirt dress as a jacket! The colour of the slip! The lovely lovely layers! Could this be . . my favourite one ever?
(PS: you look great with a fringe – let it be free!)
love this! it looks comfortable but stylish – the best combination EVER =)
adorable!
speaking of pink slips, i bought one in a store called catwalk the other day in Miami, FL, and it is so cute! :] ahaha
LOVE the layering, you look awesome. :)
Where did you get those cool bracelets?
nikkidee – Are you from Miami or are you visiting? Miami’s my hometown, so I’m just curious!
Love it!! The slips is gorgeous!!
I’m imagining, early morning Paris, oversized shades, breakfast on the veranda, mug of hot coffee. Watching the morning warm the streets as people begin to bustle their way to work.
(Can you tell I need a holiday?) :)
Very chic!!
hey gala… have you seen the latest hp film? i saw it this weekend and when i saw luna lovegood (played by evanna lynch), i swear i saw you XD
growl that is a wee bit sexy (and you know it) !!!
ohhh gala. i love your apartment view. everytime i see it it makes me wish i lived in aussie. (as new zealand is so much more house/flat orientated… you know?)
& k3!! — it’s the eyes! i thought the same thing. :)
At the risk of getting us all BANNED for Never Staying On Topic . . . k3: Tonks and her hair reminded me of Gala! (Will shut up now.)
Nadine — Wow, favourite ever huh?! I had trouble getting dressed today, stood there for like an HOUR (okay not an hour but it seemed like it) in my underwear just pulling things out of drawers & having tantrums. Haha. Glad to know that the finished product pleases the eyes of people other than me! P.S. Topic, schmopic! This is a community, go nuts!
Valerie — I got them from a shop called Sportsgirl, which is an Australian chain. I haven’t seen them anywhere else though, it seems like people are having trouble finding them! I’ve seen some on Ebay, so maybe try there…
selchi — That sounds good! I feel like I need a holiday too, I think Sydney in a week & a half will be fabulous! So looking forward to it. I hope you get to fly away soon as well!
k3 — Not yet! I’ve actually never seen any of the movies or read any of the books, so… !
Robin — Smoochy!
amy — I love apartment living so much! Even though Melbourne is a pretty relaxed city, I can look out the window & pretend it is New York & get all energised ;D
You guys have Gala on the BRAIN! Hee hee! To say I’m flattered is an understatement ;D Maybe now I’ll have to see it, just so I know what you’re all talking about!
Oh Gala! This is certainly my favourite too! the long jacket dress and japanese skirt elongate your frame so much, you look so tall… ahh s t u n n i n g :)
and is that a wee little quiff I see there?
lovely!
You mentioned earlier that people are having trouble finding clear bangles… well I was browsing Primark earlier today (the shame!) and they seem to be selling them now. (This is in the U.K)
I didn’t stop to check out the quality though, so they might be a bit ropey!
I have lucite bangles that are much, much smaller, but I was lucky enough to find them in a jar of mixed bangles at a local vintage shop. The bangles aren’t vintage, a local jewelry maker sells them at the shop. I was so excited when I found them, and the shopkeeper thought I was crazy getting all the clear ones until she saw them on.
Anyway, my point is… the bangles could be anywhere… waiting for you to find them…
i really love that pink slip dress. you look gorgeous as usual!
x
I love the juxtaposition of the military shirt and the pink slip! And I love the word juxtaposition. :D
that’s so weird!
when i pulled the page i was wearing a slip with a long dark jacket over it and knotted pearls….hahhah, strange.
Squee! I love the slip dress so much, I want it!
the outfit is fantastic,
but your hair is like wow wow wow wow wow. i love the cut, and the pink is so bright. is it a razor cut?
i love the hair color and now that my own pink hair is has faded into a light pink, i’m all jealous. shucks. :) i’ve never tried the brand of hair colors that you use, but the moment i set foot on manhattan soil, i’m buying it.
Love the pink slip: it definitely gives you boobs and it definitely makes you look HOT HOT HOT. Noice :)
Love the pink hair and the nails are great with the outfit!!! I like the clipped up fringe. Noice noice noice.
denden.
Ooohh… Lookin’ snazzy! I love how your hair and ring are the same color :D
Nadine- the first time I came across iCiNG and saw Gala (this was the last time she had pink hair), I was immediately shocked, because she is EXACTLY how I pictured Tonks in my mind!
Oh, and Gala- definitely worth your time to read HP, I would highly recommend NOT watching the movies until you’ve read the books, or they won’t make much sense because so much is left out/changed.
I have rather fair skin, like yours, so I’m always apprehensive about using pastels in fear that I’ll look washed-out. That pale pink on black looks so elegant and pretty, though, I think I’ll try it out myself! Thanks for all the thoughtful advice – I’m new to GalaDarling, but I have a feeling I’m going to be a very frequent visitor. =]
Best wishes! – Lauren
Belle — Thank you! & yes, it is a little quiff… I don’t have enough hair to do a big pomp, which makes me sad, so it’s kind of like a stunt pomp! A pomp double! You know?!
Bex — Ahh, that’s great news for lucite-obsessed girls in the UK! I’ll let them know next time anyone asks. Merci!
tee tee — Absolutely! Bangle adventure!
Andrea — ME TOO! Haha. I used it last night, describing the contrast between my boyfriend’s stubble & his soft lips, hee heeeee.
Thursday — Outfit twins! How awesome :>
rachel — It’s not razor cut, I just had lots of layers so my hairdresser tidied them up. Plus my hair is quite fine, so it looks really choppy. & I know, it’s SO bright it kind of stuns me first thing in the morning!
gilda — Try buying it on Ebay! You won’t be disappointed!
Jenny — Thank you! It’s also the bra I’m wearing, it’s pretty boobtacular! Haha!
Kelly — I’m terrible with books these days! I do sooo much reading online that I barely make time for actual books at all! But I will endeavour to read HP, sometime!
Lauren — Ahh, welcome! I’m not good with pastels either usually, but if you try things on you should know how it’s going to look. The other option is to do your eye makeup a little bolder than usual, it can help balance it out. xx!
Oh, how I love pink hair on you! It is so beautiful and vibrant. Delicious!
Thank you honey! I kinda miss my purple though!
Valerie—
no, i don’t live there, i kind of wish i do though!!
i was just visiting, my cousin and grandparents live there :]
I always mean to ask where you got those bangles!
emilyyy — Sportsgirl, an Australian clothing chain. But apparently they have them in Primark (if you’re in the UK)!
Alas, I’m in Canada. I’ll hunt around. Thanks :)
