[ 21 November 2007 ]

Black turban from Sportsgirl
Black velvet dress with crazy shoulder detail (Ebay)
Yellow bow belt from World
Black stockings
Slouchy black boots from Dizingof
Yellow skull ring by Tarina Tarantino
Soft black scarf which smells like a mix of perfumes (yum)

I wore this outfit out in the rain & accessorised with a clear umbrella. I took my friend on a cheer-enhancing trip to Koko Black for an ice-cream martini. I think it worked. I hope so, anyway!
Super-love & cupcakes,

your yellow belt is the best thing i have seen all week!
and i love koko black.. i used to frequent the chadstone one wayyyy too much in melbourne hehe
lucky i am stuck in sydney now huh? ;)
x
tinydonna — They know me at my local ;D I take different people in there ALL THE TIME, I think they probably think I have a billion lovers. Hahah! What was your favourite thing? I am a Hot Chocolate Affogato gal.
Ooh! I love the shoulder detail, & how your hair contrasts with the yellow. Perfect <3
I have major love for Koko Black! Yum yum.
And that dress is amazing!
Those shoulders are very austere, love it :)
I think a stunning big 80’s brooch would complete the look!
How are your ears going? I don’t think we’ve seen you wear any dramatic earrings yet…why not!?
I love clear umbrellas! I’ve been wanting one myself. Yes for rain!
omg, i love that belt!
actually, i love the outfit, it reminds me of anne bancroft meeting up with her lover at 3am to have cocktails in a hotel bar.
this is a good thing of course :]
Wow! Those shoulders really make a statement. They look good on you, I love the boots. I’m in a boot mood right now.
Right now I hate the rain, I just straighthened my hair and any drop of water can ruin 2 hours of work with my cheap iron n_n.
Kisses.
gemma — I’ve worn them a few times but it takes me aaaages to get the backs off these studs, so I’m not quite in the habit of changing them with an outfit. I’ll get there, though!
What did you think of those Lucky Scent perfumes you sampled?
Annie — I didn’t sample any of them, unfortunately! I know some people who read it did, though, maybe they can chip in with their thoughts!
Wow you look great!!! and i love how you’ve
worn a yellow belt to break-up all the black :D
also in response to your last post… my hair is a punky-mullet type style & i have to completely tease the top & the back of my hair so i find my bed hair very helpful :D
xx
Goodness, dear… I la-love this outfit! You look absolutely ravishing. I am always such a sucker for mostly black outfits with little pops of color (your hair & the belt do it so well!)
I love this! I love the whole fringe/turban/shoulders/scarf thing. (I am definitely a fringe fetishist.) Also, dress + boots = winning combination. AND I’ve just finished my dinner (bacon and rosemary risotto with mesclun leaves and sundried tomato – yeah, baby, I made it myself) and I was craving some Koko Black goodness! Had to settle for Whittaker’s 72% Dark Block instead.
hehe i love the iced chocolate, though it is almost like slurping three different kinds of chocolate icecream through a straw rather than a “drink” as such. i seriously get tingles drinking those things!
one time my boy and i had the belgian spoil and my goodness, i have never had so many yummy calories in one sit before!! the mousse is the best!
my friend lauren works at koko black in chaddy, if you ever pop in there tell her you know donna haha.. she feeds you free chocolate selections in these divine little boxes.. i loooove the easter bunnies there too…
koko is love!
incredible outfit! i wore a similar outfit too but my umbrella is spotty and my feet got soaked thru my stockings as i wore flats an they didnt like the puddles lol
it worked. x
You look like a cross between the crazy android lady from Bladerunner and Coco Chanel. I love it! :>
That turban is so cool! I really want one now! I can`t pull off hats so well though….
Oh and the boots. Oh how I heart boots!
yay! no sticky icky weather means wearing cool layered clothes! I’ve spent the last few days in my fluro tracksuit shorts and bonds singlets eek!
That turban looks AMAZING with your purple hair – you look awesome!
I haven’t been up to Koko Black’s cafe in sooo long, sounds like since then they’ve added more things to their menu.
A chocolate martini? Sounds like something I NEED this moment!
I bought a dress somewhat similar to yours last year for $5!!! at the op shop but the shoulders are way too big. Perhaps when I have some spare cash and time I’ll get the dress altered. It’s been sitting in my cupboard for over a year, waiting to be worn! :(
mmmmm Koko Black… they finally bring it to Canberra and I’m living in Sydney now. I love the chairs
Love the belt and the turban looks fab!
I love the fact that your hair and your belt give your outfit those glorious spots of colour! :)
I keep my favourite scarves in a little wooden chest with my tea and incense. They smell AMAZING! :)
such a great outfit!you look adorable!
You look rather warm, dear!! I suppose that’s good if it’s raining… But it’s summer, love!
I love your colorblocking.
xoxo.
I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT!!! Was wondering whether you shop at World as it is AMAZING and thought you might like their stuff. What a fabulous dress. The belt absolutely makes it, and the turban looks so perfectly suited to the outfit. Hooray for you, I hope it made you feel like a million dollars :)
Fabulous as always ms. gala.
hope all is going well =D
Love this outfit – just gorgeous & oh so elegant. I’m so glad I found your fab blog!!
i think this is one of my favorite outfits you have ever posted. its marvelous.
its a mix of grey gardens meets mary-kate olsen! ... just like her harper bazaar spread!
bravo petite princess!
I am in love with the shoulder detail.
I love the shoulder detail also (and I absolutely love black velvet dresses…recently brought one that I can’t wait to wear).
My favourite outfits of yours are always when your look like a sweet, giggling, yet archly superior 1930’s heiress.
My apologies for my recent hiding from the land of icing – it has been a crazy few weeks.
So I am back to say – you look gorgeous! And I’m sure you & the martini cheered your friend immensely :)
Blue+black ABSOLUTELY gorgeous I LOVE ITTTT.
Your blog is so fantastic. I’ve been reading for hours, why I haven’t came into it before!? why?????
koko black is pretty much the most outstanding place ever.
I absolutely adore how it smells. mmm.
love, love, love the dress!
