[ 24 October 2008 ]

This is what I wore to go to Desir with the super-cute Chloe!
Black merino wool top
Purple ruffle dress
Black sequinned sweater (Paula Ryan)
Birdsnest scarf
Pink sparkly Betsey Johnson leggings
Black ripped stockings
Platform mary janes
Sparkly skull earrings from the hallowe’en superstore!
Wedding ring, CHAPTER ring from Tokyomade & Tarina Tarantino ring
Bunny ears!

I am fond of my fire escape. (A bunch of school children yelled up at me about how they liked my hair, ears & skirt when I was taking these photos. It was intense!)
Love letters & feather headdresses,

YAY! You wore the bunny ears (I’m a creeper and follow your twitter)!
Your skin looks darling.
You look so DIGNIFIED in your ears and ripped tights! I love that dress, and also the sparkly top. Your makeup looks fantastic.
Your makeup looks fantastic! wow i just read that Nadine said that as well.. word for word.. weird! haha
I would have yelled up at you telling you how awsome you looked at but since im in New Zealand I will have to say it here. “Gala your hair is awesome and you look fantastic! :) “
You look FANTASTICAL! (is that a word, I think, right?)
I love how ripped stockings look, and I have tried to wear them many times, but I always end up changing into non-ripped ones before I leave the house!
I get sort of self-conscious or something, even though I truly think they look kick ass on other people…
I know you’ve been doing this forever, tell me do you get nasty looks or more like sexy winks?
I have pretty ridiculous hair, so sometimes I feel like I’d be pushing it with things like these…but then again, maybe it’s just my childhood programming talking…
Either way, cutie way to go for a circus date!
you need to write about it! the description makes me want to go! it sounds so intriguing and great!
Caitlin Marie — Haha. Kiss-o-rama!
Nadine — I never thought anyone would describe my outfit tonight as dignified, haha! Mwah!
Indigo Fay — Aw, thank you sweetie!
Althea — I really don’t notice the looks other people give me these days! I’m aware of people turning their heads when I go past, which I think is funny. But honestly it has been a really long time since I have received any negative feedback in the street about what I’m wearing. I can’t even remember when that happened last! Eff the haters! Don’t let other people’s small-mindedness dictate what you wear! Go for goldddddd baby! xxx
I remember selling those Paula Ryan sparkly tops when I worked at S&C in Auckland – you look fantastic in it :) actually your whole outfit looks amazing, perfect for the circus!
Good Gods that outfit is amazing! I don’t blame the school children for liking it, they have good taste _ (and are often the only people who approve of my crazy outfits heeee).
Wow, Gala – your outfit is the epitome of fabulousness – I am in love! ♥
I’ve been looking for a sweater like that sequinned one, it’s great, in fact the whole outfit is fabulous!I love the bunny ears, always a great touch! :D
Did they like your skirt or did they like up your skirt? I feel like yours and mine lean towards the latter.
Hee! I see you wore the ears and did manage to find something stripey ;> (another Twitter stalker here…and one who suggested stripes!)
You look like a fabulous glamorous superstar combat bunny, I’m glad to say.
Your eye liner is hot! ♥
Marisol – Of course it is! Its Gala! You should read her article from Australian Cosmo about cat eye eyeliner. Its called “Fashion Darling #003”
You are honestly such a vibrant stunner, if I walked past you on the street I would personally go out of my way to tell you how awesome you look – no wonder people do it all the time! Hope you had a fun time :)
Oh Gala, seeing you in outfits like this makes me want to go shopping for ruffly dresses and animal headgear!
Louise.C — It’s such a great top! I love it, it’s super-cozy.
Saxy — I didn’t even think about the fact that it was striped! I knew I wanted to wear the purple dress & was just looking for something the right length to throw over the top! Sequins seemed like a good call for the circus!
Caitlin Marie — You crack me up :D
Teresa — Aw, thank you, you’re adorable!
Kristen — It’s totally the time of year to shop for animal headgear! Do it, do it!
Beautiful outfit!! That skirt is pretty magnificent. =]
EEP! Dress, I apologize.
so cute with those bunny ears!!!!! absolutely gorgeous
wow! that pink dress just looks amazing! i hope you had a great time!
Oh, man. I can never get enough of ruffles. Seriously, more things need to have ruffles on them.
So, I love that dress. It’s absolutely adorable.
Loooove the outfit. The Tutu and the bunny ears sold me.
The bunny ears remind me of something –
When I was about 4 my mom bought my a bunny costume for Halloween. It was a size to big but I still wore it. I absolutely loved it! I would wear those white socks with the pink bottoms and pretend I was a bunny. I wore it until I was eight, by then it was torn, it went up to my shins, and the crotch gave me majoy camel toe. My mom gave it to Salvation army: I cried and vowed to myself I would get vengence. I don’t know if I did.
Yesterday after school my mom tells me she got me something. In a bag it’s my costume. She bought it from Salvation Army, it’s the same size, and there are some stitchings on it. I am positive it is my bunny costume.
So thank you for reminding me! I wish I could get away with wearing bunny ears… (Teenagers are judgemental and cruel though…)
Your close up shots are stunning with the light – makes your beautiful eyes look even bigger!
love your tutu and boots and your hair is awesome, i used to have hair like that!
x
I love that dress!
What part of the city do you live in? It looks so beautiful.
Kat Obray — Don’t sweat the reactions of your peers. Adults are just as judgemental as teenagers; if you’re afraid of what people think of you now, you always will…
Kim — Merci beaucoup! I took the photos at sunset, which helped ;>
Holly — I live in the West Village. I love it!
Man, I love it when people in New York get all up in your space and are total sweethearts. It doesn’t happen early as often as it should.
With the warm clothes and ripped tights, you kind of look like a hardcore figure skater…haha!
Gorgeous! I am still loving the dress and the sweater is divine! I used to have bunny ears and a fluffy tail from when I did ballet (way way long ago) but they’re currently buried beneath heaps of stuff in a closet somewhere :) Not sure what the point of that anecdote was haha but maybe I should dig them out again!
Cuuuute! I love your dress =]
How cold is it starting to get in New York?
I’ll be there in 5 weeks!
weeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
You never cease to amaze me! And your skin is such a honeylovely colour. Either you’ve found a magically toned self-tan or I’m just hopeful thinking here? xo
Trisha — I love that description so much!
Aurelie — Every day is a good day to wear bunny accessories. You should do it. Especially at the moment with hallowe’en coming up… People tend to be more lenient ;>
Laura — Thank you, dollface!
Nicole — Today is pretty warm, about 64 (18). But it has been freeeeeezing off & on! By the time you get here I think it’ll be pretty damn cold! I check this site obsessively: www.wunderground.com/US/NY/New…
Seren — That’s just the colour my skin is! I haven’t had a tan or a spray-tan or anything in a really long time. But thank you, haha, the colour of my skin is really not something I give a lot of thought to ;>
your blog is amazing, I love your tights
the outfit is super cute, but the kids yelling up at you is even cuter!
Gorgeous!! Love you and your style! :)
cutest outfit ever! i love!
