Greetings from New York City, where it is starting to get really, really cold!
Faux-leather jacket from H&M
Wrap cardigan by Paula Ryan (worn undone)
Building A Mystery dress from ModCloth
Belt from Forever 21
Ripped black stockings
Faux Doc Martens from Forever 21
Bag from Forever 21
Fingerless gloves from St Mark’s Place
The Dish took these photos of me outside Credit Suisse on Madison Avenue. We had just eaten burgers & sipped milkshakes outside at the Shake Shack in Madison Square Park, & were killing time until P.O.S. went onstage at the Gramercy Theatre…

He was fantastic — of course. He’s playing Philly tonight & a bunch of other dates. You should go. If you don’t enjoy his set, I will eat my hat! I swear!

ModCloth sent me this dress a little while ago, & I like it so so much. At first I thought it might be too short, but it’s actually perfect. I removed the fabric belt & replaced it with this one from Forever 21 which we’ll call “an homage” to the belt they used with pretty every much every dress in the Sex & The City movie (nicknamed Roger). The dress is fab though. You can make it pretty with a headband & Mary Janes or messy with studs & rips, like I did. I like mess. Good for the soul, innit?

I wish I had better photos, but it was very low light low life. (See what I did there?)
To ease the pain, the product shot is below so you can see it in all its glory. Yummy!

I leave you with the face I make in real life about 80% of the time!
Okay, now I am going to go work up an appetite for Thanksgiving! Lots of love to you!
Love letters & feather headdresses,

Super cute! Have a fab Thanksgiving!
Adorable!
I love your posed pictures- all the better to study your outfit skills!- but that last one is so cute, I love photos where there subject’s personality really shines through!
I love that dress, it was made to be warn with a (fake) leather jacket I think! :)
I have still never been to the Shake Shack & it makes me quite sad.
I love that belt, and especially the silhouette you get with this outfit!
Wow, it’s not blue!
Hahahaha.
you look so pretty! the dress is cute too…I wouldn’t remove the bow, though :P
You seriously inspire me to dress how I want to. And not how I think I should because, this other girl does.
I like this outfit allot, but it’s so BLACK. O_o
I love the dress! Especially the ruffly skirt. I think I need a black ruffly skirt. The outfit as a whole looks great too; I like how it’s all black, but the different textures keep it from being boring.
Happy Thanksgiving, Gala! So fitting that it falls on a Thursday, isn’t it? :)
Alzy — Don’t bother, it is the most overhyped eating experience in all of New York. I can tell you the names of about a zillion other burger places in New York where the burgers are a) about three trillion times better & b) don’t have a 10-90 minute wait time attached. It was my first & last time there!
Michelle — Yeah I was thinking that too :D
That dress has sold out now. boo :( It’s gorgeous, I’d love something exactly the same, but in red. (20 black dresses already, not nearly enough red).
New Year’s resolution – learn to sew hawt red dresses, methinks.
Love it!
So cute! Love the rips.
Such a cute dress!! The belt was a nice touch.
aww lil punk
Beautiful outfit!!
Such a great NYC look.
I hope you have a wonderful thanksgiving!

You look so happy. Funny how reading about other people’s happiness makes me smile too. :-)
oooh punk rock gala and another black dress added to my list of a million black dresses that I need need need.
Hey Gala :)
Have you seen the documentary Food, Inc.? If you haven’t yet, you should get your hands on a copy ASAP.. I just watched it and am still speechless.
leather jacket + platinum blonde = debbie harry :D
you rock, gala !
Wow I love the whole outfit! Super nice hair color too :)
Oh and I liked your over-the-knee boots post! It was very helpful. Thanks!
Only one point: The hair. It works really well.
That belt is KILLER
I could pair it with everything!!!
Style on a String ..because style has nothing to do with money.
Haha, omg, Gala, I just realised, I think we have exactly the same haircut right now. lol. Except, mine keeps going crazy and wicked curly because it’s really hot here. :)
The hair looks fab, especially with that outfit – so Joan Jett!
You look INCREDIBLE~!!! Perfect for a concert
