Daily Outfit -- 27th April 2007 -- Part Two!
[ 29 April 2007 ]

Shirt from Cue
Blue cardigan by Country Road
Olive shorts from Workshop
Large fishnet stockings
New Rock platforms
A rejected outfit from yesterday. It looked cute but my New Rock platforms took an absolute pounding when I was in Wellington & they need to be glued. Boo. I didn’t want to wear them out in case they totally fell apart on me.

What I wore instead.
Lacy bra thing
Blue cardigan from Country Road (quickly becoming one of my favourite things)
Black leggings & a black slip
Shoes by Alexandre Herchcovitch for Melissa
Coat by Laurie Foon — HOW cute is that coat?! So very.

Also… yesterday I had eyelash extensions done. Write-up coming SOON!
Super-love & cupcakes,
Gala ![]()

haha! i wear large fishnets under shorts tooooo. a friend laughed at me lately for my “dubious” fashion sense but she happens to adore your site & now THE JOKE WILL BE ON HER!
“see, gala thinks it’s awesome, now you HAVE to like it!” ...or something.
that cardigan looks super-comfy!
hot pictures – even hotter outfits!
PLATFORMS!
I used to have chunky monkey black platform boots! Hehehe…
Oh wow! The extensions look very natural.
I have always wanted an eyelash perm, myself. (Not enough to actually get it done, though.)
Gorgeous coat. Love the way you’ve left the cardi unbuttoned at the waist – it looks really good. (I am such a nerd – I could merrily dissect the tiny details of people’s outfits ALL DAY.) And you have enviable legs!
Annaloren — HA! Your poor friend. I love fishnets under pretty much anything, they’re so cute.
Thanks Robin :D
Carmen — I am platform/heel obsessed but I have recently come to the conclusion that I need to own my height & come to terms with it & accept it, stop trying to disguise it… I am a pretty small girl & I guess I just need to deal with it!
Nadine — I loooove the coat too. I’m also very keen on dissecting outfits, which is why I am such a crazy people-watcher, I’m always thinking, why did they choose to wear that? & I love seeing the way people put things together. In this way everyone is an artist, whether they realise it or not ;>
Re the height thing – I was told that “vertically challenged” is “all in your head”, because short is cute, and that is a positive. Although I have to say, tall is impressive, and wouldn’t we rather be impressive than cute? (This was on the Simply You website’s live chat with Paula Ryan.) However, I can definitely run faster when I’m “owning my height”! ;-)
I dig tall. Both my parents are quite tall — my mother is about 5’10” or 5’11” — & I’m convinced I stunted my growth by smoking from such a young age :< Boo!
What’s that little black thing you almost always hold in your daily outfit pictures?
Bailey — It’s the remote control for my camera!
gala ~ i will swap heights with you! i’m 5’9 & have a penchant for wearing silly big shoes so i look even taller. i have basically come to terms with it now but the grass is always greener etc. pls to be mailing me your shortness in a brown paper envelope :]
I definitely think short is cute. I am very short (163 cms or something crazy.. not sure what that is in feet…) and my boyfriend is 6 foot. I love that I feel even smaller around him. Like he is my big grizzly bear or something haha! I used to dslike being short but at about age 16 my big platform black boots fell apart and I decided it was time to also “own my height”. I did and now only wear 3cm heels (and thats prob the tallest heels I have). Cute is good!!
:p You’re not short – I’m short! All 156cm of me trying to contain a 10ft tall ego!
And my (adult) sister is even shorter – she’s all of 4ft 11 – and a pocket dictator with it.
