Liz — I don’t rip the back, so you just keep your leg towards the back when you’re putting them on. It’s hard to describe but I hope you understand what I mean!
The headband is très cute. Also, the combo of the haircolors worked well!

Can’t wait to hear how the NYC Top Shop is. I went to their site at Xmas and found it to be three times more expensive than in the UK and that was with the pound being at $2.

When I first discovered your blog, I was really happy – put you on my favorites. Went through all the archives and read all of the articles. Now, not so much the same. Some short entries on living the happy care-free life (which is good but where is the substance? where is the advice? where are the long thoughtful and entires where I learn or gain another perspective on everything?) It’s now just daily outfits. and maybe a picture of something inspirational. c’mon gala…i know you can do better :)
i love the headband. i really enjoy adding a big fake flower to almost any outfit. i have food poisoning & it’s storming here in melbourne, australia, but your outfit has brightened my day.
Love the headband, but I just can’t gt used to these glasses on you. I know geek frames are a fad now, but they are so unflattering on you !
Great outfit, basic black is a great foil for the vivid pinkness of your hair. I love that there appears to be a flat file (one of which I am seriously coveting for my artwork) under your bed!
Amy — Hey miss! Thank you for your comments. Here are some of my thoughts on what you’ve said. Firstly, this site (as with any long-term project, I suppose) changes as the person who is creating it does. The things that interested me two years ago don’t necessarily float my boat any more — I think that progression is natural & healthy & just the way of things, really. Secondly, since the end of February I have been travelling non-stop, staying in other people’s houses, etc., & so yes, sometimes writing takes a backseat. I love writing, especially here, especially for you guys, but sometimes daily life takes over, & we have to make allowances for ourselves when it does! (I am very hard on myself when I feel like I’m not working, writing, replying to email, etc., enough, so believe me, I put myself through the wringer more than anyone else ever could!) Thirdly, I think one of the reasons why the content seems to have changed is that when I first started, all the topics were things I had never explored before. This isn’t to say that I have no new insights, because of course I do, but when I started iCiNG, I had never written about this stuff before! Two years ago, my approach to life or living was totally foreign to a lot of people, but now you’re used to it, so those initial flashes of shock or discovery are going to be less dramatic. Is this making sense? Sorry, it’s 3am so I’m a little stream-of-consciousness.
Anyway, all of that to say… thank you for being real with me! & thank you for expressing your opinion in a considerate loving way. It’s hard to have your creative output critiqued, so thanks for being cool about it, & I hope maybe my extremely rambley response has helped shed a little light on the situation :> xo

I’m just starting out with my blog (literally I just made it then after school!) but yours, Gala is the holy grail of blogs! Icing is more of a way of life than blog haha!

Haha, I saw you at the topshop opening too. You looked pissed though. The line was long but the wait wasn’t too bad, about 45min- 1 hr. Not too bad but I will never do anything like it again, it took way too much of my day yup. But I know you’ll enjoy the 3 floors of fashion goodness once you finally get a chance to explore it!
