Daily outfit

Hello! I feel like Elton John’s demented protégé. Do you think he would adopt me? We could have sparkly singalongs all day & all night. I think he’d be pretty keen, really. Hold me closer, Tony Danza tiny dancer…

I am wearing…
<3 New haircut! (I’m not allowed to wash it for a few days so the colour will take really well. I feel quite unclean & not very foxy. I am dry shampoo’ing like mad, though!)
<3 New sunglasses — Ebay, baby! I figured if I’m not going to get the Chanel 5018s, at least for a while, I might as well have something the same shape & with graduated lenses. I like these a lot. I feel like a total, card-carrying weirdo in them.
<3 New dress! Ebay, baby! I am terrible. I bought this dress from Lullie Vintage Clothing who I cannot recommend highly enough. The dress is gorgeous & in mint condition. So happy.
<3 My father’s long grey socks!
<3 Manolo Blahnik high heels
<3 Pearls, lucite bangles & Swarovski crystal bracelet.

  4. tiny dancer was one of my favorite songs a few years ago. if you haven’t already, watch Almost Famous. theres a great scene with that song in it, plus its just a really awesome movie.

  5. Rofl!!! I love saying “Tony Danza” instead of tiny dancer. My husband or I will just belt it out randomly to make the other one laugh.

    Also, I love pairing socks with heels! It looks so…“fashionably fun.” :D

  36. I LOVE the socks, and the dress is totally amazing. The fabric reminds me of the dresses my mum and all her sisters would wear back in the early sixties, and the v-neckline and front overlay rescue it from looking “too vintage” (although I’m sure many people out there would argue there’s no such thing!). And yes, I did go and look on your flickr page for more, more, MORE!

    I was just wondering if you had any tips for maintaining personal style and such throughout Schoolies week? I know it has the reputation for being all about drinking, partying, sex, etc. But I’m taking it as an opportunity to meet a whole bunch of new people and being able to spend a week of fun with them – I would love to take my entire wardrobe + shoes + accessories but alot of it revolves from beach in the day to parties at night :/

  47. Teresa — Hmm, that’s kind of tricky. Have a look at my articles on packing for holidays (http://galadarling.com/article/how-to-pack-a-suitcase). But mostly I would recommend a couple of dresses plus a couple of t-shirts & good shoes. Take a few of your favourite accessories & work them hard!

    darcy — It comes in a can, & you can buy it at pharmacies. I buy a brand called Klorane.
