Yesterday, the girlfriend & I ventured over to the West Village for an event celebrating Yoga for Wii. After much clambering around cobblestones, baffled glances at Google Maps & confused phonecalls, we found the location & began our ascent to the 13th floor.

It was worth it. Look at those windows! I want windows like this. Beautiful.

<3 A knit hat from Forever 21 — I bought it on a whim sometime this year, it was about $3, & I’m so glad I did! I wear it all the time, especially when I am having a bad hair day, or for dressing down a more fancy outfit.
<3 Royal blue Swarovski crystal heart necklace. It is my favourite right now.
<3 American Apparel racerback tank dress worn tucked into my skirt, & I just noticed that there is a quote from me on that product page, HA!
<3 Satin lapel blazer from Urban Outfitters. I can’t find it on their site but it’s by Silence & Noise.
<3 Belted petal skirt from Forever 21. Perfect length, totally cute & it makes me feel like I just came crashing out of the jungle or something similarly Wild Things-esque.
<3 Socks from Urban Outfitters. I thought they were just ankle socks, but they actually come up to my knees. Yay! Even better, they were 3 for $20. I also picked up purple & NEON (& I mean neon) pink.

I am totally going through a blue phase. Also, please note how much my style has changed in the last year or so! I said in Love & Sequins #6 that the best style evolves & I believe that very strongly, so at least I am practising what I preach!

The view was amazing. We were staring right at this crazy pink building (Palazzo Chupi) owned by Julian Schnabel which reminds me of an Indian palace. (More on Palazzo Chupi here & here! It is fascinating.) You can see it behind me in the first two photos. Also: free vodka.

Later I hobbled around the West Village in Chloe’s stinky Chuck Taylors, introduced her to fish & chips & fake-argued with a British man who insisted on saying I was Australian, but that’s a story for another time.

  17. I must say that I do adore the blue. Blue is basically flattering on anyone, and people should wear it more often!

    Question: Do you still rock the veganism (or raw veganism)? I’m just curious if you are…and if you aren’t, how did you phase back into eating meaty stuff?
    I tried raw veganism but it was just too hard for me. I am currently a vegetarian (rather than vegan) because I simply require milk in my tea and cheese in my sandwiches.

  34. Nicola — It seems like a lot of people are going through specific colour phases! I’m just enjoying having such neutral hair, it means I can put it with anything, which I was totally unable to do with my pink locks!

    Crystal — I’m not totally sure but I think she uses a Canon EOS 30D. She is a wonderful photographer!

    Nadine — Haha! I was walking along & I was like, “OKAY, I CAN’T DO IT ANYMORE.” & she said, “I have a pair of Chuck Taylors in my bag! But they’re kind of stinky.” “I don’t care, hand ‘em over!” There’s a photo of me changing into them, she thought it was adooooorable :P

    Alzy — I have 3! The two-tone pink one is Tarina Tarantino, then I have this blue one & a pale pink one which is the same shape as the blue. I love them, I want a whole lot more. Sparkling hearts for every mood!

    Ashley — Not really. My boyfriend loves burgers & roast chicken, haha, & I do too. It’s hard to stick to a specific dietary plan if your partner eats something totally different, & even though eating raw is good for me, I guess it is not high enough a priority for me to do much about it. Having said that, I do still eat several meals a week which are raw. I don’t remember how I phased back into it, I think I just did it…

    Francine — No, it’s not heavy, it’s actually curved & hollow in the back, so it weighs hardly anything. Teal & purple are two of my favourite colours! I had a maaaaajor, MAJOR turquoise phase in 2006. MAJOR. It was so much fun.

  36. Oh your pictures are FANTASTIC! & you look great is blue, it’s one of my favorite colors to wear. I have this really cute cobalt blue sheer-long top that I love to wear with wet look legging and badass heels.

    I also love knee high socks and heels right now, they’re practical to! Wore them to down one night & it totally kept my feet warm. :D

  42. WOW! Blue looks sooo great on you, crazy! I have been going through a purple phase for a while but I’m bored of it now, have been wearing my royal blue vintage blazer more often…with bright blue vans sneakers.

    I love where your style has evolved to!! It’s totally wearable & functional yet classy and fun all at once hehe…would love to see daily outfit photos of what you wear on your ‘days off’ though – do you still wear high heels for outdoorsy activities & cleaning the house etc !?
