Decade Of Style (& What I Wore!)

EDFF

Last night, I was so excited to throw on a dress & take a cab to the Bowery Hotel, to attend Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation’s Decade Of Style event!

Ecco Domani are a major supporter of the fashion industry, which was evident by the crowd at the party. In the past, they’ve given grants to the likes of Rodarte, Alexander Wang, Doo Ri, Peter Som, Proenza Schouler, Thakoon, Vena Cava & Zac Posen. Last night, EDFF’s winners of 2010–which includes Prabal Gurung, Derek Lam & Erin Fetherston (whose perfect hair I am slightly obsessed with!)–presented the awards to this year’s winners. I am not even going to pretend that I wasn’t excited to be in a room with so many talented people!

I’m going to be working with Ecco Domani through fashion week, & will be attending all the shows of the winners of their prestigious awards, namely Bibhu Mohapatra, Mandy Coon, M. Patmos, Pamela Love, Native Son, The Lake & Stars, & Study NY. I’ll be reporting back here with my favourite highlights & tidbits!

So… As you may have been able to tell by the distinct lack of daily outfit photos, it is WAY TOO COLD for that kind of nonsense right now. It is currently 23° (otherwise known as -5°), & look, as much as I love hamming it up for the camera, standing on a patch of black ice while my fingers turn blue & I try to “smize” is just not my idea of fun!

But last night, I harnessed the power of my Fujifilm Instax & the free photobooth at the event (!!!) so I could document my outfit for you! Yay! (Oh, & you may notice I have hair again! Thanks Bee!)

Ecco Domani have brought on five bloggers to cover their events during New York Fashion Week. You’ll be able to keep up with the madness here (as well as on our own blogs & Twitter accounts)!

It’s a small, small (blog) world–Audrey & I were both in the Estee Lauder breast cancer awareness campaign, & Lindsey & I did the Coach campaign! I’d never met Aly or Katy before but they are both super-sweet, & we all had a great time last night, hogging the photobooth (clearly, we are all bloggers) & pretending not to be starstruck while Robert Verdi draped himself all over us. I’m really excited to have a gaggle of girls to attend the shows with, I think it’s going to be so much fun!

By the way, I’m wearing…

A violet beanie from somewhere random, maybe Forever 21?
“G” necklace from Running With Scissors
Betsey Johnson devil flounce dress
Betsey Johnson lip belt
Black stockings
Dr Marten Regina boots
(Not seen: big brown faux fur coat, grey Betsey Johnson scarf, grey Betsey Johnson fingerless gloves, purple satchel from Cambridge Satchel Company.)

This photobooth was so much fun. It had a remote so you could take your own picture, & you could print them off as you pleased. Too good! I love this shot of June Ambrose & Robert Verdi! (June was wearing the best turban EVER & is super-rad!)

The event was fabulous. There were wine tastings, amazing-looking plates of food & mannequins dressed in the designs of the EDFF winners. It was kind of like torture, though, since I was on day 18 of my cleanse! I drank water & smiled sweetly at waiters, instead!

Aw.

P.S. Have I mentioned how much I love this Fujifilm Instax camera? No? Okay: I love it. (Good prices on eBay, hint hint.)

I hope you’re ready for some MAJOR fashion week coverage from me! This is going to be my biggest NYFW yet. Hold onto your hats!
