One of the things I’ve noticed happy people have in common is that they enjoy the work they do. In fact, it’s not just that they enjoy it: they actively look forward to doing their work. It’s fun to them; they treat it like play. This is no coincidence.
Let’s be real. If you don’t enjoy the work you do, it drags down the energy of everything else in your life. You’ll start to nitpick at your relationships, feel less passionate about your interests, and your whole life starts to suck. After all, if you’re spending 8 hours a day doing something that feels pointless, you’re wasting a major chunk of your life.
The thing I am most proud of is the work I do. Yes, it’s unconventional: who knew I would end up making a living by writing a blog, travelling, speaking and writing books? But it’s utterly amazing, and it brings me joy every single day. As far as I’m concerned, that is the DREAM, and I believe we all have the ability to live it.
That’s why my friend Ellen and I are so happy to announce that we are opening up our course, Miracle Worker, for a second intake. The first session kicked off in May, and it was a whopping success. We had 300 students, many of whom experienced massive shifts and changes in their own lives. (Just see some of the testimonials below!)
Miracle Worker is a course on how to create a meaningful, magical career — working for a company you love, running your own business, or a combination of both! Our goal is to shift your attitude from one of scarcity and self doubt (“I’ve got nothing to offer,” “It’s too hard,” “The economy is terrible!”) to one of empowerment and focus (“I can be in the top 10% of my industry,” “I’ve got this,” “It’s handled.”)
We’re really proud of the curriculum, which was designed specifically to help you see real, true results. Even better than that, the community is killer, which means you’re not doing this alone. The women in Miracle Worker took the initiative to meet up in person, do their homework together, and keep one another accountable! Real, awesome friendships were formed, and that makes such a difference. The people who lived in more isolated areas had Google Hangouts and Skype chats, and of course, our Facebook group went OFF! (In fact, it’s still very lively, which we are so pleased about!)
Look at all those cuties! Feeeeeeeeeeelings!
Miracle Worker runs for 8 weeks from September 7th, and you’ll get three pieces of material each week. On Monday, you’ll receive a workbook and a few action steps to get you moving! “Miracle Worker made magic in my life by showing me I could make my own magic. Before, contemplating my career stirred up anxiety and overwhelm – but Gala and Ellen taught me how to banish that negative selftalk and take big bold steps toward my dream. This summer I’ve gotten three major freelance writing assignments and was asked to host a radio show. This amount of progress feels unreal and has left me breathless! I really do think Miracle Worker works miracles – by teaching you how to work your own!” — Kate Sloan
“The course is so overwhelmingly amazing that I feel like I have a bright light shining from within. I think this might be the most positive I have ever felt in my entire life. Wow.” — Karrie Sadowska
“Miracle Worker was absolutely amazing, and I would recommend it highly. I was able to overcome my fears and just ask and do things, in order to get closer to my dreams. During it I met with a mentor I admire greatly in the music business, and was able to learn from her. I met an amazing Emmy winning producer through her, and am recording my new songs now. I am booked to play a show at The Bitter End. My music ended up on Pandora! I soul searched and am looking to train to become a yoga teacher. I am working towards moving towards my beloved NYC. I am so excited to see all of this magic manifesting in my life right now, and Miracle Worker is a great reason why a lot of this has happened. I am so grateful!” — Kiyomi Kobayashi
