Exciting News!

Dear lovers,
I am so incredibly excited about this most recent piece of news that I just HAVE to share it with you. I’ve wanted to tell you for TWO WEEKS now but decided I should wait until everything was finalised… & now it is! So here we go.
A couple of weeks ago, I received an email from Sarah Wilson, the editor of Cosmopolitan magazine in Australia. She said she had been reading my blog for a while, loved it & wanted to know if I would be interested in writing a monthly column for Cosmo. Of course, I said YES! My first column will appear in the August edition of Australian/NZ Cosmo, & then if it pans out well for us (& how could it not?!), there will be many, many more to come.
I’m REALLY thrilled to have the opportunity to write for & connect with another group of people, since I am pretty sure that the Cosmo audience & the people who read iCiNG are fairly different. I feel that, of all the women’s magazines, Cosmo is a good one to align myself with, since they have a strict no-endorsement-of-dieting rule, are committed to using models of all shapes & races, & encourage women to feel good about & be proud of themselves.
The tone of my column will be slightly more ‘mainstream’ than it is here, but as always, my primary motivations are to encourage people to develop their own personal style, boost self-esteem, educate, & push the envelope a bit!
I’m so delighted, & of course, without amazing, devoted people like you to create a buzz & get my name out there, this would never have happened. So THANK YOU!

oooh, my lecturer mentioned this at uni the other week & i thought of you :] apparently a recent survey was done where they found that a decline in people’s social values was strongly linked to a decline in the number of picnics they went on! more picnics = a friendlier, more co-operative world! just a little fact to pull out if ever some asshat tries to tell you that what you’re doing is ‘frivolous’.

i told my sister about you and she went, “good for her!!” with eyebrows raised and we both went wow-ing a bit. whatever the name, i feel it should have something with “gala” or “icing” somewhere in it, maybe? but if not, will they include a link to icing on the page?
gilda — Yeah, there will be a link to galadarling.com on there! I think the name should probably have Gala in it somewhere. Honestly I haven’t given it too much thought, though I should probably come up with some ideas by Monday (my deadline)!
oh gosh it’s not even happening to me but somehow i’m pretty excited. MONDAY!!! honey stop working on this website and do cosmo first!! well you have your own reader-base, so hopefully they’ll let you put either the word gala, iCing or cupcake somewhere! ( although i laughed when i read snacks & the city! ;D )
