Hair Update!

You asked for it, you got it! New hair pictures! Don’t say I’m not good to you… it’s 4am New Zealand time!
I went back to pink — but a deeper, richer colour. I loooove it. I sat at Wildilocks for 7 & a half hours yesterday… but it was totally worth it. (It always is.) Anyway, radical times call for radical change. Changing the hair was a good step.
I keep catching glances of myself in the mirror & not recognising my head. It’s pretty funny…
I loves me some nonpareils!
Yay! Now I am going to proceed to accidentally stain everything nearby bright pink…

Great colour! Well worth the time spent. I’m trying not to dye my hair anymore to keep it healthy (I shaved my head last year because my hair was damaged from colouring and heat styling) but seeing hair like that makes me WISH I HAD PINK HAIR AGAIN! :)

Lovely! That was the color pink I dyed my hair (but I wasn’t brave enough to dye my whole head!) I miss it so much, so I might have to live vicariously through you for awhile until I have the time to do it/upkeep! I love it :-)

Oh, when I had pink hair I lived with my parents and got into all kinds of trouble for the amount of furniture, bathroom fixtures and towels that I destroyed with dye. Well, they said destroy, I say I was marking my territory.
Aw, very cute! It makes you look a lot younger, in my opinion. Not a bad thing now that you have to attract the mens with your young and fertile hormones and whatnot ;O) I’d love to see you as a semi-natural looking (as natural as it could look, right?) redhead. I think it would probably be super dreamy, and seeing it in a non-hippie way would be delightful (it’s not my style either.) Actually.. going off on a tangent now.. Semi-natural red with a simular blue/purple as before underneath (not highlights) Or i don’t know. Rainbow militant chic is in, what can i say, lmao.

I love it! The hoodie is cute too. When I broke up with my guy of almost a year, I didn’t know what to do to feel apart from him. I hated my hair long blonde and wavy, so I chopped it all off into a cute modern bob. I felt so independent, and I was letting go of 5 years of growth, not just 4 inches.
I knew you’d go back to pink! It’s such a Gala colour!
I would love to dye my hair turquoise/blue/purple. Maybe one day when I won’t be too sad to part with my naturally blonde hair…!

Pink looks cute, although for some reason I thought you might go dark brown… not sure why, but once you’ve rocked all the colours of the rainbow, I think it would be tres sophiscated on you.

Hello Gala!
I dye my hair with special effects, and I use some kind of “clear coat” from the hairdresser’s to lock in the color. After the hairdresser puts this “clear coat” on, the dye never leaks or stains anything. Except I cannot tell you for the life of me what the “clear coat” is exactly. But if you can find out, its very useful! I’m sure the hairdresser will know what it is, though!

Oooh…yes, a lovely shade of pink! I know what you mean about not recognizing yourself in the mirror. I just recently dyed my hair black (a drastic change for me) and I still shock myself when I catch a glance. Good times :)

Ahh this color pink is awesome! I would love to see you go turquoise though, I had my hair layers of pink and turquoise a while back and it was so much fun!!! You go Gala! New hair colors are such a good thing when you are starting fresh.
Haha, OMG that’s like the same shade of pink that I have! The only difference is that I have blonde on top and pink on the bottom, but after a few washes it kinda mixes up together and looks like a gradient of cotton candy. What brand did they use on you at Wildlocks? My hairstylist uses this Paul Mitchell color on my hair, and it doesn’t really stain my pillows or anything, it only stains the towels when I wash my hair.
Out of curiousity, did they give you pink extentions too, or did they dye the ones you already had?
Anyway, I love how pink looks on you! I’m going to admit that I miss the blue, especially since I can list off more people who’ve had pink hair than blue hair, but you look great either way. :)

Gala, seeing all the old pics of you with pink hair finally persuaded me to get my pink chunk o’ hair back again (would love to go all over, but have to keep it semi-conservative for work, although, I’m thinking of chancing keeping it all pink underneath, and my natural colour on top…), also on your endorsement, I shelled out the cash for special effects (£11, ZOMG!!), but how good is that stuff? Once a month re-dye (and even then, probably not necessary), and such a pretty colour.
Maybe I have super hair, but I have not had the staining issues other people seem to report. Leaks a bit in the shower for the first few washes, but after that I’m fine…
on the subject of cupcakes.

how do you preserve your color?
I’ve dyed my hair pink before in a peek-a-boo style and it faded in two weeks…
I also went back and they fixed it but it still faded in around two weeks…
woweee it looks gorgeous! I’m still scared about taking the plunge and dying my hair something really radical. At the moment it’s a browny based purplely colour, but what I really want to do it cut is super short (it’s shoulder length right now) and dye it bright pink! Just have to work up the courage!

Squeeeeee! The blue/purple was an absolutely gorgeous colour, BUT no matter how much you love your hair I think it’s fantastic to change it around now and then, especially when you’re entering a new phase in your life. Keeps things fresh, and you discover new things that suit you all the time! Plus some clothes which might have clashed with one hair colour will really pop with another. Ohh, and pink will be an excellent “perk up” shade for the Winter!
Sorry to double-post, but I only just saw your comment where you said you’d been considering turquoise – I think that’d be a fantastic colour for you next time; it’d complement your skin tone and eyes beautifully.

Omg! You have inspired me to go pink again. I was pink for about a month, but decided to add black in the colour which turned it a horrible purple color. I haven’t had pink since, and i’ve regretted it since. :) You suit pink soo much.

I really wish I could have bright coloured hair… but it’s too hard to do that as an actor. Stupid! I had pink and blue streaks in my hair in grade 10, it took more than a year for them to grow out, despite the colour fading quickly.

Charlie Paige — I think most of it has to be put down to my metabolism! Which isn’t very useful to anyone else. Based on the way that I used to eat a while ago, I should have been enormous because my diet basically consisted of complete junk & rubbish, I never drank water & I didn’t eat vegetables. When I was at school I would have an ice-cream for breakfast & candy floss for lunch every day. Seriously. One day my metabolism is going to slow down but I eat slightly more sanely these days ;D My advice is really just to moderate what you eat. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with eating cupcakes but if you’re eating them every day & you don’t exercise, obviously that’s not ideal. Sorry, I know this isn’t super-useful, I don’t have any secrets for you on that topic!

How do you keep your hair bright for so long?
In some of your photo’s you have roots coming through so i assume you hadn’t dyed it for a while.
So how do you keep it bright for so long???
For me its just not a happening thing to keep it bright red for longer than 2 weeks!
