I Love Victoria Beckham!
[ 18 July 2007 ]
She’s like a hot fashion robot from the future! “MAJOR!”
I didn’t really know anything about her until I watched Victoria Beckham: Coming To America last night. (I never liked the Spice Girls so I kind of missed that boat!) I adore her personality — she’s warm, smart, positive & hilarious… definitely the brains behind the ‘Posh & Becks’ enterprise.
She gets a lot of flack from the media (& general public) about her body, which must be hard to deal with. Surely dealing with your inner critic is enough?! I know it is for me (& most of you, too).
Anyway, I wish her every success, I think she is brilliant. & I would love to go shoe shopping with her!
P.S. I love love love Milkfat!
Hyper-love & bunny kisses,

She IS cool – so unapologetic about who she is! She has great personal style and I love her hair so much I can’t even tell you.
Crap damnit I meant to watch that.
And, it’s insane how early and almost noon-ish it is over at Galaland.
But then I never really understood the concept of time
x.
I saw that show last night with my friend Tara and we fell absolutely in love. She’s so cute and sweet, she had good things to say about almost everyone, and we loved during the earthquake training she was hiding under the table and asked if everyone could see her knickers. ♥
I think it’s hard not to love that woman, especially getting an insight into her life from her perspective. She always seems like lots of fun and this carefree silly person whilst being dedicated to her family at the same time.
(On a PS note: thanks Gala for the words of encouragement re my job, I’m being positive all the way. Everything happens for a reason and this will lead to be living a more fulfilled life.)
Now Gala… you are dangerously close to making me see Victoria as something more than bones and boobs.
The video was adorable. Now I want to see more.
Victoria Beckham is the one celebrity I adore unconditionally, however many unfortunate outfits she wears! Thanks for the video!
Ha. She reminds me of my best friend’s mom. I love Victoria Beckham to death :}
Odd. I have always been Pro-posh and have seen many interviews with her & Becks that have been fabulous – I love her tongue in cheek humor and the fact she definitely has her wits about her.
however
She lost a few points for me during that doco, the bit at the start where she basically said she would only hire chubby/plain girls as her assistant had me a bit gob-smacked.
It was an interesting little show but sadly I found she came off far more shallow & ego-driven than I imagined her to be =(
That said, she is utterly beautiful and I’m obsessed with how she always manages to look perfect, flawless and sterile. Love it.
“And there were all these little people, and I was like, how far away are they? And then I saw that they were kids.”
Love it. LOVE IT.
I live in L.A. and am crossing my fingers for a Posh sighting soon! Preferably in her 4-inch “driving shoes.”
> r r
She’s a decent sort is our VB! She used to live near me when I lived in Cheshire and would often dine out in Knutsford, where I grew up. Yes folks, she does eat and eats quite a bit!
I think why she wants a ‘plain’ or chubby PA is so that David isn’t lead astray by some LA glamour puss, as he was by Rebecca Loos, here in the UK. VB and DB do make a great partnership and he has done things for the game that no one has before so they both deserve the credit on that front. Remember, when DB was earning a relative pittance in the early stages of his career, she was the main bread winner and seemed quite happy to be so.
Yay! I am so pleased I’m not the only one who loves her!
Nadine — Oh yeah, her hair is brilliant. Perfection.
Katrina — I loved that bit too! “Can you see my knickers?!” So cute. Usually I dislike British accents but she sounds pretty adorable, hee hee. I think I’m going to start saying “MAJOR” now too. Haha. I’m so shameless!
Jess — Good for you, I wish you all zee best!
Bex[ceptional] — I really think a lot of that shallow stuff was played up for the camera. I think she was playing a caricature of herself to up the drama stakes. The PA she hired is actually a comic/actress, so the whole thing is very… Hollywood!
Rachy Rach — Oh my god, if you do, please tell me! That would be soooo exciting. I wish I lived in LA sometimes! The only celebrity sighting I’ve had in Melbourne is Alice who won Australia’s Next Top Model, haha!
Robin — I get the feeling that a lot of what she said was tongue in cheek, especially those PA comments. I think that’s just her sense of humour, it was pretty hilarious! Also today I discovered that the woman who ‘plays’ her PA is actually a stand-up comic/actress, so, well, the whole thing is a leeeetle bit fabricated (as you would think). I think the whole British concept of footballers being at the top of the social chain is TOTALLY fascinating, it’s just so foreign to me that I can’t fathom it. I guess he is pretty good looking, but he isn’t too clever ;>
I never paid her much attention before, but now I really like her, based on that few minutes. Hee!
I watched that too!
I absolutely loved it; She’s so funny.
I can’t imagine why it got such bad reviews.
And I have fond memories of my days when I was a massive Spice Girls fan :]. It’s sad that they’re not coming to Melbourne.
Haha, I got sucked into that TV special but I am so glad I sat down to watch it. Posh is rad!
My favorite part was:
DMV instructor: “Victoria, I’m watching you.”
Posh: “I’m watching you too Bill.”
Not only a great sense of humor & able to laugh at herself, but she’s ALWAYS thinking of her husband/kids (aawww) & she manages to pull off the “sexy/classy” look without being too slutty or too conservative. Even makes me want to listen to Spice Girls again. :]
oh shucks. i was this close to posting the same thing and was just short of clicking the “ok” button!! now i’ll leave it till later!!
i adore her too and i always have, since years ago. i love her sense of style and i love how she never dresses down. did you know she apparently only gets a stylist for stuff like magazine shoots? she dresses herself on most days and i think she looks fabulous. she has had skin problems and she used to look chubby too, but she’s worked hard to get to where she is and i think she is a great mother on top of all that. i do love her and wish the beckhams the best in US.
She is just the cutest thing, isn’t she ? I’ve loved her for years.
You know, Becks would be so much more prolific in the entertainment world if his accent was a little more refined. He is a fairly intelligent chap although he isn’t particularly eloquent. It is a bit odd that footballers do seem to be right up there at the top of the social elite in this country… don’t quite get it myself! At least he’s a good role model and has invested a lot in providing for the less fortunate, specifically with his soccer academies. I’m not sure the yanks quite get the nuances of british humour and that this info-docu-soap thingy completely went over a lot of people’s heads!!!
Well, I’ve always been a little biased on Posh, because I grew up during the Spice Girl era and was a Baby Spicite (followers of her adorable ways).
But, that video made me see her in a different light. Very cute, very Hollywood.
One thing that radically changed? After seeing how bad the ‘razzi is, I don’t think I’ll be buying any tabloids soon.
:3
I was a huge spice girls fan, and when my friends and I would dress up like them and make music videos (which was apparently cool when we were 14) I was always Posh. She gets so much criticism from the media, and I think it’s unfair. She is funny, warm, stylish, and just seems like someone that I would like to get to know. I can’t watch the video yet (because I’m at work), but I’m looking forward to checking it out later.
Thanks for posting! *
I am afraid I have to disagree…I watched some of the programme last night and it was so bad I couldn’t stand it. I can see what she’s trying to do – act like some sort of British & Better-Dressed Paris Hilton, and it was funnier than “The Simple Life”, but what isn’t? I just cringed.
I missed this show!
but am so glad you posted this Gala :)
I love celebrity TV, I’m just a sucker for it, and Posh played very well for the camera.
Cute and sexy as a button.
I think it’s rad they moved to Hollywood, ‘twas the only place for them to head me thinks.
She totally is a fashion robot from the future!
I love that description – it kills it!
:)
I am an American and I love Posh and Becks. They’re soooooo MAJOR!!! I love that scene when Posh goes to a lunch with those fabulous plastic surgery multi-millionare and billionaire LA matriarchs. It’s so rad and so glam.Alot like the decadent 80’s.And that lady with the dolphin call. That’s hilarious! Remember sweeties, though alot of these bitter and rather too cynical critics of her show are heaping hate on her now,no matter what bad publicity is good publicity and that’s that. She’s famous!
Stefanie — I agree with everything you’ve said! Plus, her look is incredible. I can’t imagine her garb is terribly comfortable but damn does she look goooood…
gilda — Ooh, sorry! Hee hee! I really admire celebrities who don’t use stylists, Mary-Kate & Ashley don’t either & I think they look pretty much impeccable all the time. Any bozo can just take what they’re given & put it on… why do you think Rachel Zoe does such a roaring trade?
Robin — Definitely, being eloquent & articulate are HUGE factors in dealing with the press. No one wants a soundbite of “Um, yer, I think so!”. But I agree that the subtleties of British humour were lost on a lot of people, especially American critics!
Retro.Bunny — The paparazzi are insane. I saw a video of MK & Ashley running (like, sprinting) into a department store so they wouldn’t be photographed, & there are all these guys just YELLING at them & jumping in front of them & taking photos. Must be tiring for the celebrities, especially when they’re not in the mood.
Eternity — Aw! Oh well, it takes all kinds ;>
Belle — Yeah, I can understand them moving to Hollywood from the UK. I kind of feel like the UK can really only offer so much, you know?
Noelle — The dolphin call lady was TERRIFYING! Oh my god, all of them were totally insane. The blonde plastic patrol, wahhhh! But it doesn’t mean they wouldn’t be fun to spend time with, haha.
they actually lived in spain(david played for real madrid) before they went to america, hihi sorry too be nitpicking but thats the football-fan in me.
although they did have(they still do, I think) have a hugeeeeeee house england!
I love posh too as a person and her and david are totally cute together, but I dont like her on the football part, cause well yeah I wanted david to be like still playing for a major team at this stage in his career and not for la galaxy, cause well im sorry to say but la galaxy isnt, and I believe he would be still playing in England if it wasnt for her, but hey they are a lovely couple, and I think she’s a funny lass!david is not to bright though:P
