iCiNG Podcast #001

[ 31 March 2007 ]

I just spent the day thinking, writing & recording my very first podcast!

<3 Gala Darling – iCiNG Podcast #001. (MP3)
Click the link to listen now, or right-click to save & listen later!

This podcast is about the strangeness of the seasons changing over. It is such a weird time for so many people (myself included), so I thought I would make a podcast about how to triumph over the elements & feel sane again. I hope you like it, I’m really nervous about it!

Super-love & cupcakes,
Gala <3

  1. Really good, I like it :) It’s comforting to hear things like this in my current state (unable to work and in pain, lonely). Again, I have no idea how someone could possibly mistake your accent as Canadian. I could listen to your voice for eons! You have a great voice for audio, so don’t worry.
When I come back to Australia and NZ, I’d love to meet you. When that will be, I don’t know. I didn’t get to see Melborne last time.

    Ciao Bella.

  2. Oh, thank you sweetheart! I’m very flattered. I would like to meet you, too! I can take you out for cupcakes & shoes. Hee!

  3. :) Cupcakes !

Did you get my email I sent a while back, regarding doing what you love for a living/blogging/self-sufficency?

  6. Opium — Yes, I did, but I didn’t know how to reply! I guess I should have just replied saying that :> I don’t have any answers, I guess the only place I could direct you to is www.problogger.net, but even that doesn’t tell the whole story.

Natasha — Thank you so much. I’m glad you enjoyed listening to it, I suspect (as I said in the podcast) that there are a lot of people feeling similar to you & I at the moment…

Robin — You’re a doll. Your voice is way cuter though!

  9. haha, fu bar! :D you are too awesome.
this really makes me feel much better. i often get sick & feel dumpy during seasonal changes so i might just go to dennys with my un-related twin and order the most decadent dessert on the menu! that oughta perk me up. thank you!

  10. That was lovely!

Your accent brought a smile to my face :-) I am a crazy canuck, but I used to live in NZ and I miss nutty kiwi accents so much!

I think that although it is turning into spring up here, I shall use the changing of the seasons as an excuse to make cupcakes!!!

  11. Man, you’re such a charming bunch! Thank you for the compliments! I’m glad you enjoyed it, branching out into new mediums is always a pretty nerve-wracking experience.

Ray — I miss that bouncer with the huge afro!

  12. Wow, that was great! (Your accent sounds Completely Normal to me, ha ha. Your Rs seem a bit South Island-y, unless you were just enunciating clearly for the international fanbase.)

How come you’re so clever? Where do you get all this wisdom from, baby girl? I’m a mum, and the ‘what would my mother do?’ part was so touching!

This is just me, but I’d prefer this as a written post (or transcript as well) so I can ponder your ideas more slowly. Personally, I love getting completely rugged up and going for a walk in the blustery weather (raincoat, banana-skin waterproof pants, gumboots, hi-vis vest – yes, I live in the country, why do you ask?). I firmly believe that there is no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing.

  13. Yeah, I was trying to speak as clearly as possible for the benefit of people who can’t understand an NZ accent straight off the bat! Though one of my new year’s resolutions was actually to enunciate more clearly, haha, so I guess it’s working!

I appreciate your feedback re: wanting it as a written post. I’ll post a transcript!

  15. I joyfully listened to this podcast this morning, and it was the best thing I could have done for myself in aaages.
I’ve been trying to get over a heart-break, and a general mope, and this completely gave me enough push to shove the badies out of my life!
THANKS GALA! Mille baiser pour toi!

  16. i know it was absolutely the opposite of the point, but it brought tears to my eyes.
