Initial Rings

[ 28 June 2007 ]

Okay, I know it’s been a bit serious around here… so let’s pick it up a little, shall we?!

Today I received a package from Girlprops containing rhinestone initial rings! I ordered a set in gold & a set in silver… & I loooove them…

Girlprops initial rings

What do you think? I’m totally smitten. If I ever forget my name, poof! It’s right there! (If I was violent I might be psyched to imprint my name on someone’s forehead, but I’m not.)

Girlprops initial rings

Oh, & do you like my new (to me) Lacoste sweater? Thanks Ebay!

Have you bought anything recently which sends you into ecstasy?

Super-love & cupcakes,
Gala <3

  1. You look gorgeous in those pictures! The purple sweater looks great with your hair.

And those rings remind of the tattoos that some people get. Hahaha. :) Very cute, though.

  2. wow. you’re like a hip-hoppin’ r&b star. i would love to get me some of those… but then i’ve got 5 letters to my name and if i wear one on my thumb then the word won’t really join together. aha.

  3. i heart those rings! very gangsta ;)

my latest ecstacy purchase was my pink glo-mesh dress! $20 from the Salvo’s. original price was $481 because it’s Charlie Brown / Princess Charlotte.
it’s short and sparkly but so freezing cold to wear!

  4. I am MAD THUGGIN’! Haha. This fantastically cute girl from the UK who comments here often, Sophie, is going to send me a blingin’ dollar-sign multi-finger ring & I am sooo excited. I could hang out with Jay-Z!

gilda — You could always get something else… like “PLUR”. Just kidding! “CAKE” or “GLEE” or “DIOR”, like Carrie Bradshaw ;>

  5. Ohh those rings are SOO cute!
I could always shorten “Jamie” to “JME” and buy some. =]

Hm. I may have to do that…

  6. they’re adorable and all blingy!

i just bought a teal silk/cotton coat – its skirt is gathered at the waist so i can twirl! – a matching 50’s swing dress from an opshop for $3, sparkly aqua legwarmers, and a pink gingham 50’s swimsuit from eBay … i’ve been visiting my mother since i had my wisdom teeth out and that usually results in an entirely new wardrobe :) together, we are demoniacal shoppers …

  7. I’ve just bought an original 60’ cocktail dress, black and quite simple (i don’t ususally wear dresses) waiting for it now. Cost me a whole £1.21 on ebay. Oh and found a 70’s bowling shirt with Alice embroidered on it, so giving that to my sister for part of her birthday present (she’s only 9) so it won’t fit her for a while. The other thing rocking my world, is my blue dunlop trainers!! Love the Jumper Gala. xx

I’m currently vibing a pure silk coffee coloured dress that I bought off eBay..it’s odd, but nice. And it feels so pretty when I stroke it. :)

  10. Great sweater – that colour looks lovely pn you.

I recently bought a new pair of jeans. I happen to think they make my ass look fantastic, so naturally this fills me with joy, and GADs (Great Ass Days).

  11. dior!!! hahah!! i’ll think about that!!

i haven’t bought any new clothes but i have bought some new lace and fabric… and as weird as it might sound, i’m all excited about what i’m gonna make with it.

  12. My lovely boy bought me a new Hello Kitty watch the other day, via ebay and it’s lovely and big and bling-y!

Your ring/rings are magnificent! Girlprops is wonderful, it’s just a shame that shipping to the UK is so expensive.

  14. The sweater looks so cozy! I am in a new scarf craze. I bought two long, fringey scarves: one royal blue, and one is bone colored.:)

  15. i didn’t actually buy anything (have to save my money for shopping in paris this summer!) but my mother dug up a pair of her old sunglasses & gave them to me. i love love LOVE them!

  16. I recently picked up a few things at the thrift store that are prompting me to put them on a few times every day, even though it’s way out of season for them. First, a perfectly fitted navy blue 1950s dress with a simple but still the lovliest bodice. Then, two vintage wool skirts (which only need one minor repair between them), one from Celine in burnt orange and one from Pendleton in a gorgeous bright blue. Finally, a short, 1950s style jacket, made with a mide collar in lovely silky japanese material, much like one I’ve been drooling over for ages. It’s like paroxysms of joy whenever I try them on, or even see them..

  17. Oh so so cute.

I’ve bought a watch (first photo on www.ohdarling.net.nz) that I love because it’s a little bit deco. And a snake ring (a replica of a roman ring from thousands of years ago) that curls silverly around my right-ring-finger and protects me from the evil eye!

  18. You should get a set that says “cupcakes” and wear them on both hands. :-D

I recently bought a vintage white organdy cocktail dress—spaghetti straps, fitted bodice, and a tutu-like skirt. It has pale purple and sea green embroidery all over it. It needs to be altered a little, so I can’t really wear it until I get that done, but I’m super-stoked about it.
Also, I was leaving work this weekend and happened upon a street fair in midtown Manhattan, and I ended up getting several pairs of big, pretty earrrings for under $3 a pair.
And finally, I was rooting through a sale rack an found a silk-satin cocktail dress in pale green, purple, and pink. It’s sort of a-line, but with a ruffle around the bottom, and a square neck and an empire waist. It’s so bright and fun, and it puts me in a good mood to wear it.

  19. oh adorable rings! too bad my name is far to long to shorten.
I bought new shoes, underwear, and a ton of fabric (I’m making my summer clothes this week) today! I’m excited! I also bought a video game to neutralize the girliness of the whole day… but I’m a little embarrased about that part.

  20. ee! so cute. i would get some but a. my name is six letters long and b. i don’t like it very much…o well! also, I WILL SEND OFF YOUR RING SOON! i’m sorry it’s taken me so long, i’ve had exams all over the place, but they’re finished today and i am free for three months :3
    xoxo

  21. I LOVE those rings! They look sort of cheap on the GirlProps website, but in your pictures they look very nice. :)
I want them in my initials now!
And the color that your hair’s faded into is gorgeous . . . I love how it matches your sweater! :D

  22. Ha! Love, love, love the lovely rings! Believe it or not I had never been to the Girlprops site before, I can’t believe I’ve been missing out on all that fab cheap jewelry! I haven’t bought anything recently-attempting to save money:(- but recently I dug out all the broaches I hadn’t worn in a year or two and started pinning them in my hair(with the help of some bobby pins). I like to think of them as really ornate, glitzy hair clips. I may look like a mental grade schooler with a passion for rhinestones, but I like to think it adds some interest to my otherwise boring hair:)

  23. Gala, I can’t comment to the Vegas post, it won’t let me, I get to preview, then I hit submit and just get the 404 error message after that.

  24. I bought stage-side tickets to see The Rolling Stones in August… I may have to sell my kidney now in order to have enough money to survive until then, but by God it’ll be worth it :)

  27. yesterday my pockets were heaving with change so I went to the emporium and emptied them in search of shiny things. I think my favourite score is the spanish-language hello kitty (knock off) stickers, they’re pink and have miss kitty pimped out as a caberet act complete with peacock feather trim.

  31. SO cute! I want the rings, myself.

I just bought a Sidekick (hee, a hacked one) for use in NZ, though it won’t be completely functional. AND my brother has paid 75% of the cost of a new Fujifilm finepix 6500fd for me for my birthday (late present!) and is sending it from good olde Englande. Exciting!
