Just when I was about to sign off and find something to do because I was bored (which usually means I end up cleaning, whether it’s needed or not), this showed up in my email. YES! I’m still going to clean, but now I have some fabulous stuff to listen to! :)

I think it’s difficult to make friends with other creatives, mostly because we’re all different kinds of weird and interpret things differently. Sometimes that translates things wrong.
My best tip for making friends is to simply be who you are. You’ll attract the right people into your life.
Oh Gala, this is exactly what I need at the moment (& the $12 dollars to get it with, haha). I’ve got some awesome close friends, but I’ve been sticking with the old & not letting the new awesome people I’ve met get too close, so I’m edging out of my comfort zone bit by bit & started feeling paranoid just today about whether I was coming on too strongly or in the wrong way (it doesn’t help that it’s mostly guys I’m befriending at the moment, totally platonically, but I keep getting wink wink nudge nudge from my other friends which totally sends the wrong message)...I blather. I will be saving my pennies for this one though.
Almost all my long-term best friends are now long distance friends though, so yes, you definitely can be! One of them is going to Nepal this week (!!) & we are going to hang out when I’m in Chile next year, so long distance is practically an advantage when it comes to global friendships.

I honestly cannot wait till I get to listen to any of them. It’s funny that I get just as excited as others when I’ve never even listened to any of your podcasts. It leaves me giddy, anyway. YAY!
This couldn’t come at a better time for me, as in a month I’m graduating from school and relocating to a city where I know nobody! Although I’m excited, I can be pretty shy so I’m definitely nervous about making new friends when I’m all alone. Needless to say, as soon as it’s the end of the month and I have some money in my pocket I’ll be downloading this. Thanks!

Gala, besides the “buy one” and the “buy all” options, could you make a…middle option? Like choosing from, say, 4 podcasts without paying the whole price? I would love that option, I don’t have the money right now to even buy one, and I’m not interested in all the podcasts…but a package may convice me! :)

Oh Gala, I don’t see Love & Sequins 8 in my e-mail. :( I’m really excited about this issue of Love & Sequins! I was trying to adjust my thoughts yesterday thinking about my life and friendships through concepts from the Law of Attraction and Mike Dooley’s Notes from the Universe, and little did I know, I wake up today this morning seeing THIS from you! :O I was amazed… It feels like a sign. Thank YOU! (I didn’t think you would release it so “soon,” as you first announced it was for a week in February, so, really….!)

I’ve been following your blog for a while but I think this is my first time actually commenting. Congrats on the oh-so-gorgeous-and-lovely new layout! With each new layout you come out with, it just keeps getting better and better.
I think Fran & Becky are totally right, you really should consider giving a middle option of choosing 4 podcasts. It certainly wouldn’t hurt and I would be among those who’d be interested in that sort of option. :)
I’ve been anxiously awaiting the next L & S….and this topic is sooo on par with my life lately. I sort of feel like work has overtaken my life & friendships have been fading…My friends from college who live down in nyc seem to be having total fun 24/7, while here in upstate I’ve been finding it difficult to break down my walls of shyness to find close new friends around here…plus I spend the majority of time at work in an office where 99 % of the people I work with are negative and dreadful (minus my wonderful boyfriend but he’s in a dif dept.)
I will def be curling up in my bed with this tonight, thank you Gala!

oh nooo, the boyfriend cave! my best friend has definitely moved in there full time, and really suddenly too. it’s left me wondering if i’ve ever done the same thing to her. going to give this one a listen.
already listened to all last night and loved it! i am on spring break right now from college and left feeling very, very lonely and friendless. this was just what i needed!
and can you talk about the universe working in magical ways: my sister and i had gone on a two hour walk in which we talked about my difficulty with making friends. we analyzed every part of my being, trying to find out what i was doing wrong. when we got back home last night around 9-ish, we decided to look up tips on making friends online. of course, the first site we went to was galadarling and what do you know, love and sequins # 8 was posted. my sister and i were puzzled, and looked at each other with confused faces. it was just TOO perfect timing. CREEEEPY timing.
anyways, thanks gala. it was GREAT. i feel rejuvenated and ready to back to school and befriend every person that comes my way.

You have no idea how amazed I am…yesterday I wrote a letter to the Universe saying “If you throw me a rope, I will climb it.” And then you posted this, AND THEN this morning on the train while I was listening to it, I met an extraordinary girl who wants to do hair and make up and photography with me!

Funny how I’ve visited here many many times and yet for some reason never before took the time to scope out your Love & Sequins Podcast until last night when I was in a rather dark funk, needless to say, or grateful to say rather, you turned my bluesy frown right side up again in a genuine way and injected a much needed guidance in my demeanor once again Gala! Gala! I would loooove to buy one of your podcasts! I would love to buy the whole bunch in fact…
Did you know that for $12 (£7.90 here in the UK) I can feed myself for a whole week? I bought a pair of shoes for less than that the other week, second hand from the vintage shop. I scrubbed and sponged them, dressed them up with bright ribbon and lace, and cinderella did go to the ball. I ride a tassel-handled bike every day to feel the wind in my hair and escape my claustrophobia. I’ve done all my own piercings just to feel the sense of accomplishment though I’m afraid of needles. I dye my hair over the bathroom sink and invariably get blue all over my neck and bedsheets for days afterwards. Painting in the park by day and firehooping for my pennies by night; I love my life and I love having something to put in the piggy bank at the end of the day- to contribute towards the impending epic lifechanging travel around the world on a shoestring budget.
Are we really so different Gala? Apart from the designer shoes and expensive cocktails. I’m a girl with attitude and a kickass individual sense of style.
I’m not ashamed of my lifestyle- I’m living the bohemian dream. But are you ashamed to have me as a fan?
