I
Melissa shoes.
I already had one pair — the Emotion wedges in turquoise (seen here), which I adore. Today I bought a pair of Scarfun Summer wedges, designed by Alexandre Herchcovitch. They are gleaming black with a decisive wedge heel & great ankle strap. God, I love them.
I was actually on a quest for flat sandals, or really, ANYTHING to replace my jandals (or thongs or flip-flops or whatever you call them). I walked around yesterday wearing mine & they ripped my feet up. Ouch. I went to Melbourne Central, this huge mall across the road from my house, & went into at least 6 shoe shops. Nothing really appealed to me… but I went to Myer today & once I tried these on, I knew I had to own them. I felt a bit guilty at first, since theoretically summer will be over soon & they would then be relegated to the back of the cupboard. But then I realised I could wear them with stockings in winter too — & they will go perfectly with my new “cyber coquette” look.
Today I’m wearing them with a long white shirt over olive green short-shorts (barely visible). I feel excellent & sort of indestructible, which is kind of the aim of the cyber coquette thing — a seductive robot. Yup.

For those of you who don’t like buying shoes online (I don’t blame you), here is their list of stockists, which ranges from Patricia Field in NYC to Colette in Paris to Designer Clothing Gallery in Wellington, New Zealand. Best of all, they’re plastic, so they’re cheap & vegan-friendly! Yay!
Love letters & feather headdresses,

Odd, I’m wearing almost exactly the same thing today, only I’m wearing some docs instead of sandals.
Well, before I bought them, I was wearing the outfit with cowboy boots! Twins!
Ok, I’m lusting after those shoes. LOVE the ankle strap.
Ain’t it cool? I also discovered that it can be removed. YAY for versatile shoes!
Love it! Simple but full of attitude…
are the shoes actually comfortable to wear walking around or standing upright for more than 10 minutes at a time?
J. — Yes! Very! They have good support, I’m impressed.
hurrah for expanding the options for work footwear!
i check out the melissa shoes every time i walk past them in myer :)
they are sooooo cute and colourful but ive never actually tried them on because someone told me wearing plastic shoes is like walking around with your feet in plastic bags and they just get sweaty.
what do you think?
candyapple — I don’t know if they’re sweaty, both pairs I have are relatively open in style, but they do rub my feet like nobody’s business. Blisters ahoy! It’s a bit of a drag, they are really just for standing in, I can’t wear them for any real length of time. Sad!
