Merry Christmas Miss Gala!!!!!
XxXx
Christmas is really weird with my family: my mother is jewish and my father is an atheist. The only catholic is my grandmother, so we hacve to celebrate anyways.
I got a brand new Sony Vaio!! I couldn´t believe it! I´m used to getting cremes or tshirts… I gave my grandma two tshirts, my father season three of the sopranos and my mother a photography book. pretty nice =)
merry christmas!
I don’t celebrate Christmas, but today is going to be just as eventful as if I did! First I’m going to see Sweeney Todd with my sister and some friends. Then we’ll probably go out to lunch and spend the day at various people’s houses. It’ll be so fun! Then tomorrow we’re going to the mall to catch all the awesome after-Christmas sales (I’m thinking Victoria’s Secret Garden)!!
The lights went out during christmas dinner (with 20 guests), so we lit about a hundred candles and had an even better time!
Merry Christmas! Well, on the 24th we always have something simple for dinner, but on the 25th there’s always goose, red cabbage, Brussels sprouts, potatoes and traditional German noodles for lunch. And this afternoon my father’s side of the family was at our place for coffee and cake (to be precise 8 different sorts of cake for 12 people … here in my homevillage people like to overdo it with food … ;-)). So now I’m digesting and trying not to think about the heaps of cake that’s still left over … I can only take so much cake …
MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE!
My siblings and I woke up super-early this morning. My sister, who’d stayed the night in my room, and I were wide awake by half past five! As soon as my parents were awake, we all crowded into their room and investigated our stockings.
After my grandparents and great-uncle had had breakfast, everyone went to the drawing room where the tree is, and started opening their presents! I got some amazing books, including “The Tokyo Look Book” and the complete works of Norman MacCaig, my favourite poet, and my parents gave me a Moleskine, which will be my journal/base of operations in 2008. My brother gave me a giant chunk of rock salt which holds a tealight- apparently it releases negative ions and is really good for the energy in a room. There was some comedy later on when my parents showed my grandparents their present- two wheelbarrows!
I was most happy with the present I gave to my mum. As she loves elephants, I got her a soft plush elephant, and as she loves the smell of earth, I put a bottle of Demeter ‘Dirt’ shower gel in the elephant’s arms. Now we’re all having a quiet night in, having enjoyed a truly fabulous lunch cooked by my dad, and later on I am going to have a bath with the Lush pine soap I got in my stocking. I’m going to smell like a Christmas tree, yay!
Happy Christmas Everyone!
My momma has been taking jewlery classes and made me three silver pendants that she made from little trinkets she had when she was young.
We’re having my grandparents over for dinner and we’ve made two kinds of mashed potatoes and a fruit salad with pomegranates.
I expect later tonight that my younger sister and I will watch Jingle All The Way (an Arnold Schwarzenegger movie), a Christmas tradition in our family.
Merry xmas everyone!
i had to work this christmas but my flatmates got up SUPER-early yesterday to do the present thing, I made us all scrambled eggs on toast & we ripped presents open, made a mess & sprayed silly string EVERYWHERE!
They got me awesome presents: Rory got me a yoga mat!!!! & Jenn got me guitar-pick-earrings in my fave colour Green; lots of other little things.. it was so much fun.
Then after work I got really drunk all by myself at home, put up the John Lennon & Yoko poster & rang all my friends & family back in NZ, hilariousness ensued…
LOVE!
I had a fabulous day! I gave my sister a makeup train case, because her makeup was thrown all over the bathroom + not only was it hard for her to find anything, it was driving me crazy! :) The most excting thing I got was $150 worth of gift cards to Anthropologie… tomorrow I get to decide what to spend it on! Merry Christmas, Gala!
Even though I don’t celebrate…
Merry Christmas Gala!!!
Today I went to my mum’s hometown in Hidalgo we ususally go this time of the year because most of my aunts and uncles are there along with many of my cousins (I have 10 aunts and uncles and almost 50 cousins and like 20 nephews and nieces). I spent time talking to my grandmother and playing with my little cousin Jimena, she is four. I also saw two of my uncles and they tried to outshine one another with their anecdotes.
Seeing my family was my Christmas present, it is not frequent that we can all be together.
Kisses from a little town in Hidalgo, Mexico.
Merry Christmas Gala!
I had a wonderful day.. the fridge is so full of food, it’s positively daunting.
This Christmas helped me realise how great my family is and how lucky I am to have them
xoxo
Merry Christmas Gala & all!
I got some lovely things, makeup from Benefit and B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful, a new diary, copy of “It’s Vintage, Darling”, really cute ring I wanted (it’s a black rose), and lots of other little bits. It’s not over yet though, I’ve got some relatives left to visit and hopefully some friends!
Merry Christmas! Somehow my family managed to completely and utterly spoil me past my expiration date today. All of my “immediate family” (the family that I interact with regularly/care about— mom, dad, brother, aunt, and uncle) was here all day and I got so much stuff I don’t know what to do with it all.
Concise list:
http://milkdove.livejournal.com/19280.html
Literally, I got so much stuff. A new Gretsch guitar and a new electric-acoustic mandolin because my parents finally realize I am taking my band very seriously (the mando was from my aunt), Anthropologie skirt, AA dresses, new shoes, tons of DVDs because my father is trying to take me seriously as a film student, etc etc etc. I had a blast and its only going to get better.
Unfortunately E isn’t going to be home until 1/13 which is REALLY lame. :( I’d trade everything I got just to be with him on Christmas— this is our first Christmas together and we aren’t even together for it!
Merry Christmas :)
Merry Christmas :) What did I give this year? Remember your striptease post? Yeah. (laughs)
Merry Christmas everyone!
Christmas just ended where I am and I had a fabulous day! I always spend my day with my immediate family (parents and younger sister). The rest of my family lives all the way in England and we’ve never been able to visit at Christmas-time.
I gave my mom a book on cooking fish and her favorite lipstick. I gave my dad a silly menu organizer thing (he’s the guy who has everything and he’s getting a car tomorrow). I gave my little sister the Aqualina “Pink Sugar” gift set. I received lots of great gifts! I got the Nikon 35mm f2D lens that I wanted, “Daisy” by Marc Jacobs perfume, a Spyro game for my Nintendo DS, some puzzles, a couple other small bits and pieces, and a pretty amethyst necklace.
For an early dinner around 4 pm, we had a small turkey with gravy, roasted cauliflower, roasted brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes, and stuffing. My sister made us some tasty shortbread cookies that we dipped into a chocolate sauce.
It was a tasty, wonderful day that we ended by watching the movie Stardust!
I went back home to Sydney to spend Christmas with my family. I got DVDs and book vouchers and lots of silly things to make me smile whenever I see them.
We had a huge Christmas lunch (about 3pm when my mum and I finally finished cooking!). That night, my mum, my sister and I all went on a 2 hour walk around the neighbourhood looking at Christmas lights and then collapsed on the lounge with a bottle of red.
Christmas is over now but i hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas. Especially you Gala! You look like you’ve been busy these past few days.
I got books books books (**drools**) and some Willow Tree figurines to add to my growing collection. (the shelf dad put up last year is already crowded). And about a month or two ago now, Mum and Dad got me the most awesome early christmas present ever…my first car! She is a beast, and we called her Millicent!
The most awesome present we gave was for my disabled brother Patrick. He wanted a guitar, because his friend at his day centre has one, so we got him one. He played all morning, until his fingers bled….literally! He strummed the end off his index finger, the silly boy! But it is still worth it, especially when I watch his eyes light up when I pitifully attempt to play him ‘the gambler’ or ‘time of your life’!
Merry Christmas Gala! Hope you got lots of super awesome presents like we did!
Well after getting majorley excited about my first xmas with my other half, we went to my parents house on xmas eve sat down had some food and drinks and watched movies all nice and jolly. Untill 5am when i woke up feeling like i had by a truck. I had come down with a nasty stomach bug, and spent most of my xmas day either in bed or in the loo =( which to me felt like i had ruined it. But my other half has said that he enjoyed xmas and he realy enjoyed it. thankfully i feel tons better today, trust me to get ill on xmas day though!!!!
and what made it a bit better for me is that my other half loves the seal lion i adpoted for him =D i think thats enough of me rambling on now!!!
merry xmas and a happy new year to everyone =P
