It is with great excitement that I announce the winning set from the iCiNG/ModCloth/Polyvore competition!
Our winner is…

April Showers by decembers! Congratulations, sweetie!
Susan of ModCloth & I were so excited by the following two sets from vulgarmoon that we decided to award her a $10 voucher, too!

If you can both get in touch with me, I’ll send you your vouchers!
Thank you all so much for taking part in the contest — we were absolutely thrilled with the calibre of the entries & your fabulous style, originality & taste! For those of you who didn’t win, never fear! There is another wonderful Polyvore competition coming soon!

That quote with the last outfit is DIVINE. Any idea where it came from?
Congrats! Those sets are stunning!
Wow! These are some great looks. Super inspiring. They make me want to go out and buy those clothes and accessories, which I guess was the idea.
Awesome!
Congratulations.
That crow braclet needs to be mine, right now (to match my other corvid things) – can I find out where it’s from? Pretty pretty please?
yay, grats to everyone who won! :D
I’m really looking forward to the next competitions, I was super lazy with this one :p!
Ohh they are soo pretty congratulations!
oh god that nevermore set is luuurvely.
i want it!!!!!
especially the raven bangle
and the thigh-highs.
clothing love
Fantastic choices, these winners definitely know their style :) I am loving all of the colour combinations, they are wonderful
I love the last set especially. Gorgeous!
The winning set just has the best colour scheme! Love how she matches it all up and the owl in the tree is a cute friend x
Very inspiring! I wouldn’t normally think to mix browns and greys, as in the second set.
All three sets were refreshingly creative. Super job!
Oooh I do love the second one. Great use of two colours you normally would not put together. The winner’s outfit is sensational too :-D
Aw wow! I won! haha. thanks so much Gala! : ) I worked hard putting my sets together, there were some really great ones so i’m very surprised!
thanks so much!
x
I don’t know, it doesn’t seem as creative as some of the other entries. It also showcases a classic rookie mistake, matching your purse and shoes. That being said, I liked the second place winner, Nevermore.
Ok… I’m horrible at mailing letters since I work every day, 7 days a week from 9-7 so I have no time to mail things. I know that’s a bit of an excuse, so I’m sorry.
But your orchid’s name in hiragana is きょうこ.
き This is Ki. You can remember it because it looks like a key.
きょ This is Kyo. When you mix Ki with a little tiny Yo, it makes a sound like Kyo.
う This is a long Ohh or Ooh sound. It drags things out and makes things nicer.
こ This is Ko. You can remember it because it looks like the shape of a coin. COin.
きょうこはきれいなおはなですね 。
This sentence is some Japanese fun for you. If you want, you can look up the hiragana on Wikipedia or some other site like that and see what this secret message says! If you give up or don’t have time, I’ll tell you.
Hmm I have to agree with Lauren about the winning set… It’s pretty but it just lacks some of the creativity and originality of some of the other entries. The vulgarmoon sets are much more interesting, to me anyway. Love the singing in the rain set! So colourful and creative!
Thanks again, Gala! I’ll try really, really hard to be a good girl and not spend all my $10 at once :P
Just a short reply to the comments about my set! : )
I wanted to a create something simple, and less busy than I had already seen, with simple colour blocks. It was just as much about creating a neat little picture as it was finding cute clothes! It was my first attempt, and not even my favourite but i’m extremely pleased that Gala and Susan liked it.
The winner is simple and super cute! And the second and third ones are great too!
Also- Gala- if you come to the home of Modcloth- Pittsburgh, PA- I would totally want to hang out with you too! ha
Congrats to those who won!
I’m super surprised by the winning set, however, but maybe i misinterpreted what you guys were looking for. She did use almost all ModCloth stuff, though. That i get. And i also understand that the more thought out & unique entries would take a lot more time to look through and compare to one another.. I think it’s a shame, but oh well.. next time! I’ll definitely be participating again :O)
_Sammy xx
these are gorgeous sets – sorry i didn’t participate, but i definitely got some wardrobe inspiration from the participants!
congratulations to the winners!
Aww I wanted to win. Oh well. Those sets are gorgeous. I love love love the brown and gray one. I know why that one won too. I mean, who thinks of brown and gray? Beautiful.
I love the second one, I want those socks so bad!
There is no “rookie mistakes” in fashion, I think. Breaking the rules is part of the fun! Love these sets. xxoo
oh man oh man oh man … vulgarmoon, will you be my personal stylist?
love the dress from the winning combo! The green would be a good contrast with many other colors and the neck and waist look so flattering. Good choice.
These are really pretty!
I WISH I knew where those knee highs were from in the second set. The shop isn’t listed on Polyvore :(
^^ try SockDreams.com They have TONS of super neat, and very inexpensive socks of all kinds!
Romy, I think they actually were Sock Dreams socks that I used in the set. And I completely second Sammy’s recommendation – their socks are fabulous!
