New Boots!

From Dizingof, a little shop in the arcade near my building. They’ve been in the window for a while & I’ve eyed them up on many an occasion. Imagine my joy upon walking in to find that they fit & are glorious!

The leather is super-soft & imprinted with roses — very unusual, I ADORE them.

When I wear them I feel like the walking embodiment of this song.

  9. On my first and only trip to Melbourne way back in 2001 I bought a top from that shop! Still wear it heaps every summer. Can’t wait to visit Melbs again… esp as my little brother lives there now!

  11. They are oh so lovely. I love boots and have 2 very awesome pairs, but I live in Florida so it’s usually way too hot to wear them. But I always find at least one day a year where it’s bearable! yay for me =)

    joleeeeen — Dizingof has about 3 stores total, & the one I went into had the boots in a 37 & a 35 (I think). I snapped up the 37, the sizing ran large. But I think you’d be hard-pressed to find them!

    Annabel — Aw! If you come back, we should have coffee or cocktails… & discuss pubic hair, haha!

    Rachael — Ooh, what sort of boots did you buy? & more importantly, did you get a good deal? We did — $100 off the original price, bringing them down to $399 AU :>

    Mari — It must be weird living in summer attire all the time! I’m pretty envious though, I would love to live somewhere with a better climate!

    Jeannine — Me too! If someone described those boots to me — knee-high with a heel, bunched-up & imprinted with roses — I would look at them like they were crazy. But I adore them!

  20. Ooh, those are lovely! Remind me of a pair my mom owned, they’re probably packed up. But they were bright red with a darker red rose pattern. And it was quite amazing she bought them, she hates roses, but they look really good.

    i live in texas, usa and its incredibly hard for me to pull off cowboy boots: so many people instantly equate them to rodeos and rednecks here, mostly because the cowboy boot wearing rodeo cowboys and hicks exist here. ><

    those however are incredibly stylish!

  22. Thank you my darlings! It’s funny because when I bought them I didn’t think they looked like cowboy boots at all! Haha. Oh well. They kind of make me think of this character from a story by Margaret Mahy, a very wicked headmistress, with long black hair & a rose between her teeth. Arrr!

  28. They’re black suede-like material, with a square-ish toe and a wedge heel. Knee length with a zip on the inside, and decorative straps/buckles on the outside.
