Breakfast tacos are a wonderful way of life< in California and Texas, and it's a time-honoured tradition I happily embrace when I'm on the other side of the country. But as an East Coast babe, I had resigned myself to only indulging in the deliciousness of a Mexican breakfast when I was far from home.
Squirreled away in a teeny-tiny shopfront on S 2nd, between Roebling and Havemeyer, is the sovereign of salsa. And sure, they do breakfast tacos, but they also have lunch specials. Mike and I both scarfed down the Tinga De Pollo, delighting in every bite. Bonus: they use corn tortillas (gluten-free!).
Stop in, grab a taco, eat it and get on with your life. It’s a damn fine way to begin the day.
