Robin Williams On Inside The Actor's Studio

I watched this yesterday & laughed until tears streamed down my face. It’s way too good not to share! I think he is pretty much the funniest man who ever lived.

    Random question for you, just for fun: all these celebrities have handbags named after them (Birkin, etc.)...if someone were to make a Gala Darling bag, what would you want it to look like?

  4. Little Miss S — Hmm, good question! I think I like bags which are black, big, reasonably minimalist but with some exciting details like... zips! Studs! Weird metal detailing! It's a hard question to answer, though ;D How about you? What would the Little Miss S bag look like?

  5. Random thought – is sushi considered a raw food? I haven’t really considered going raw in the future, but it just popped into my head because I love sushi and I’d love to be able to eat it regularly.

    Goodness, I was actually not prepared to answer my own question. Should be studying for my finals, but I’ll give it a go.

    I’d like mine to be big and plain-ish on the outside too. Probably in a dark brown- a faux leather, so my vegan friends would buy it. The inside would have thousands of compartments and a bright purple lining. (And maybe it could magically transform into a shimmery, colorful clutch for nighttime?)

    Trisha — The seaweed’s raw, rice isn’t, but the fish is. So… kind of! I don’t eat raw meat, the idea gives me the creeps, but many people do!

    Claire — I never saw that but Mrs Doubtfire was one of my favourite movies when I was younger!

    Robin Williams has been one of my very favourite actors since childhood.
    I absolutely loved him in films like Aladdin, Toys, Jack, Hook, Fern Gully… the list goes on and on!

    If you’re in for a really cute little whimsical film (and very funny, of course!), I really recommend Toys. I remember hiring it from the video store about a million times when I was young! :)

    I wanted to ask, now that you are an NYC girl and presumeably doing heaps of walking in such a big city, what shoes do you wear? Surely not something like the ones you posted a pic of? Although if so, I hail your balancing abilities!! It’s so hard to find cute and comfy shoes…

    Oh, and can’t wait for the new travel style article. The old one was one of my favourites!

  24. robin williams was amazing in “one hour photo”, we rarely see him in a serious role (serious as in non-comic). his performance blew me away; it was a mean character yet you could still have pity for him.

    A — It depends on how far I’m walking. It’s so hot here right now, we’re in the midst of a heat-wave, so I’ve been wearing my Irregular Choice sandals. When I know I have a lot of walking to do I either wear my New Rocks or Frye boots, but you know, they’re winter shoes really. I need to buy some heels, I don’t have much here with me!

    marie — Yeah, that was an odd movie. I re-watched The Birdcage last night, & I had pretty much forgotten that he plays the “straight” (haha) man to Nathan Lane. Which is so unusual for him!

    Joanne — Me too! I only just discovered it. I loved Angelina Jolie’s interview there. So interesting.

  29. Oh my god if you’re new to Inside the Actor’s studio you need to see Will Ferrell as James Lipton on SNL. Everytime I see Mr. Lipton now, I crack up just thinking about it.

  30. Claire- No kidding! I keep freaking out, thinking I’ve lost my cell phone, credit card or whatever when it’s really just stuck in some corner of my pocketless bag. I’d certainly be willing to sell the design to Michael Kors or something :)

    Ansi & Gala- This would be so cool as a post; I’d love to see what everyone else has to say! I’ve been to a lot of parties lately where I’ve known very few people, so it’s always good to have a few interesting questions on hand!

  32. Durrr! I should’ve realized that a key ingredient of sushi was rice…what was I thinking?! Haha. XD But Immie, your idea sounds really interesting, I’ll have to try it sometime! I guess you’d have to grate the carrots very finely for it to have a similar texture?

  33. I’m having a sick day today and I decided to watch all 14 of these videos… holy god: I always knew he was versatile but he’s just blown me away.

    Video 6 is one I could watch over and over and over again… When asked if his brain operates quicker than most, his response was outstanding… do we say YES, he has a brain that operates differently from most? It’s always interesting seeing an actor in his “raw” state, and that interviewer is fabulous. I saw him interview the “cast” of the Simpsons once: it’s hilarious and I must see if I can find it.

    Thanks for sharing this with us, Gala…. :) You find some real gems at times!

    I love this post, it really cheered me up when I needed it.
    I also wanted to say that I had really liked your last post as well. I don’t really understand why people were flipping out about it, all you really promoted was healthy eating, taking vitamins, drinking water, and not letting a diet take over your life. Though I’m not personally a believer in raw food, I don’t think that your post was pushing it on people at all.
