Snow Storm!

Bonjour!

I just cobbled this together & thought you might like to see it — it’s footage of Hank Williams, The Dish & I in the snow storm we had over the weekend!

The song is Passion Pit’s Sleepyhead.

We had so much fun just walking around. I’ve never lived in a place that snowed before so it was really weird & exciting for me! It was beautiful at the time but now it is kind of slushy & brown… Hopefully it will snow again on Christmas day!

Do you have any Christmas wishes? Mine are that it snows & that our little family has a fun, relaxing time. I hope yours does too!

    Have fun in the snow! I’m in PA so we’re experiencing the same kind of weather, but I’ve never been a winter kind of girl—I spent my childhood in New Orleans so the cold and I never got along. I prefer bundling up in sweaters and tights and cuddling with my boyfriend.

  6. Oh how i wish i was still living in New York. I remember having to walk to my internship on 34th and 8th last January/February. It was insane.
    My wish is that it snows here in Tulsa and that i will get to see my Dad this weekend.
    By the way what are you using to film? Is it the flip camera?

  8. I was listening to this song on my ipod and turned it off, right as the video started. It was a fun in-sync moment. There is nothing better than puppies and snowballs. Have fun in the snow! I hope it comes my way! Ellie: I too wish for good “Sherlock Holmes” viewing, and perhaps Robert Downey Jr. in my stocking.

    Your boys are seriously adorable. I can’t believe they make little dog snow shoes. Meanwhile in Queensland I spent the day with 2 fans on me and fed my Border Collie ice cubes.

    I love Hank, he is adorable. He deserves a lot of rawhide for being so cute! I am so excited for christmas as I’m going to see all my family and my plucky dog Jasper. He is so sweet and I am so excited to get to walk and cuddle him again!

    The reason Hank is wearing the boots is because of the rock salt that gets thrown down on the ground, which is really really bad for dawg paws. It breaks down the pads on their feet, plus dogs lick their feet & it’s really poisonous.

    It sure is adorable though…

  41. Aw how cute :’)! Love Passion Pit too. We have similar amounts of snow here in Scotland but I prefer watching it from indoor than being in it tbh.

    My Christmas wishes are basically for a happy new year and for my family to make it through Christmas without too many tears (my Grandad died in September).

  47. Awww, you look so cute! But I’d say that snow is an excuse to buy some baller real snow shoes- like these, perhaps? ( www.bobscycle.com/browse.cfm/4 ) I have the blue ones, & they make me feel like a snow fairy princess!

    I also LOVE passion pit. A boy I was flirting with for a while told me he went to school with them at Berklee, & when I told him I didn’t believe him, he called one of them! I don’t know any of their names, haha, but I got to leave a ridiculous voicemail.

    My Christmas is setting up to be pretty lonely, as my lover’s a few hundred miles away with her family. My wish is that I’ll get to see my estranged grandparents on Christmas eve. . . and that there’s enough alcohol in this house to get me through all this upcoming family time. If nothing else, my brothers just set up Rock Band 2 in our basement, so I’ll find my way to a merry merry, whatever happens. Hope your holiday is lovely beyond belief!

    I also love snow storms in NYC. My favorite was maybe 10 years ago or so. It was like being in a ghost town, we could run through the streets and have snowball fights in the middle of the road without worry because there were no cars, no one was moving and everything was totally still. You knew that there were millions of people inside their apartments looking out their windows, but you couldn’t see anyone except for the few people. Very zombie movie like.

  58. SOO adorable. This video made me so happy. Hank is precious in his booties and coat. My dog cant stand those. It’s a sunny 60ish degrees here in San Diego. I’ve been to local mountains, but have never been IN snow, when it is snowing. So beautiful! One of my best friends is en route to her permanent move to NYC right now. I want to be there!

  62. Hey there Gala! Love the video and your boots—-where did you find them? Also, a tip for Hank Williams if he is being uncooperative with the booties (my two dogs do not like them) put some vaseline on their paws. Also, I hope you and The Dish got some calcium chloride to put down instead of rock salt. It is safer for the dogs paws and not poisonous if they lick their paws.

    My wish is that my vacation goes well (I’m leaving tomorrow morning at 5am for the Dominican Republic). I’m going with my family, and leaving my boy behind! :(

  77. HAHAH! Oh New York. “Snow storm”. We just had 20 inches up here in Saskatchewan. I wish I could go out with leggings on.

    A few years ago we tried to duct tape my socks on our dog because he couldn’t even go half a block with the snow getting between his toes and freezing. Poor pup! I’ve always wanted to get him little booties like those, I’m sure he’d hate them even more than the socks!
