Sydney Fashion Blogger High Tea
[ 23 July 2007 ]
This time next week, I’ll be in Sydney! (I’m so excited.) I wanted to invite those of you who live there (or on the outskirts, or who feel like a nice long Sunday drive!) to the Sydney fashion blogger high tea! I was invited as the “guest of honour” (ooh la la), & I’d love to see some of you there!
It’s going to be held at the Swissotel on Market Street, from 2pm. There’s a “high tea buffet” which provides all you can handle tea & sweet things! I can’t think of a better way to spend the day than by gorging myself on sugar, can you?!
It’s being organised by The Bargain Queen, & her post about it is here! Let me know if you can come along or if you can recommend good shops in Sydney!
Super-love & cupcakes,

Please come to London for tea and cake cos i can’t come to your tea parties in Austrailia :(
I dream of cupcakes, on a sunday morning. All kinds of lovely cupcakes that my unself controlled self should never be around. There were lemon-poppyseed cupcakes and cupcakes slathered with chocolate, and cupcakes that lined the whole dining table in my house.
I live far to far away to come to tea and honestly likely wouldn’t have the courage were it next door. BUT I hope you all have fun. And I really did dream I ate 6 cupcakes and I completely blame your IDUD post ;)
darling, I wish I could come. But sadly Im sorta on the other side of the world. This time next week I’m be getting on a plane to fly to England for 3 weeks (so excited). But I wish you to have the merriest of times. And goodluck.
i can’t come :( but i reccommend shopping in the street i live on- king st newtown. get the train to newtown (4 or so stops from the city), that places you smack bang in the middle. to the left are some funky boutiques (like made, pretty in pink, zukini) and to the right are some other chain-ish boutiques (like sarah jane and quick brown fox). it’s also a great place to get a coffee or a beer (think brunswick st in melbourne). enjoy my town!
i second king st. i pretty much live there.
and i will be at the tea party! any excuse for cupcakes.
I say Bondi Beach is always fun , and great for people spotting oh la la
Have a super time in sydney town x
joleeeeeeen — I don’t think I’m going to do any more afternoon teas, I’m only doing this one because I was invited & I’m keen to visit Sydney! It’s really awesome to meet people but without some kind of agenda/plan it all seems a bit aimless, I don’t feel like anyone really benefits from the thing. Know what I mean? I’ll probably have one when I get my first book deal, though ;>
tess — Thank you! I’ll check it out :D
nico — YAY! Will be great to see you!
Saunter through Dixon St/Goulburn St in/near Chinatown – there’s a few fun, bilious clothing shops there, though they do have weird opening hours. And I third Newtown!
Have fun!
Oooh, It’s times like these I wish I didn’t live in the States! I’m sure it will be a blast!
i will be bringing my lovely and well-dressed friend stacy with me too. i know she lurks here (hi stacy!) we can’t wait.
xx
