Things I Love Thursday: Crisp Mornings And Cozy Nights

Things I Love ThursdayRachel Rabbit White and I on the very last summer day of 2013.

And just like that, it’s suddenly autumn. Rabbit and I lucked out on our park date: ever since, it has been strictly cardigan weather. I feel so lucky to have been able to squeeze in a day at Tompkins Square Park, sprawled out on a blanket, reading astrology charts, drinking juice and pulling tarot cards. It was the perfect day.

You might have noticed that it’s been a little quiet on the blog front lately, and for this, I apologise. I’m knee-deep in creating DARE/DREAM/DO, a thirty-day course all about dreaming, doing, and demolishing self-doubt. I’ve been logging mega hours in coffee shops around the city, putting it all together, but I know it’s all worth it… It launches later this month, and you’re gonna l-o-v-e it. (So exciting!)

Things I Love ThursdayNaomi and I went on a sugar-rush date to LadurĂ©e… And I thought this fortune was perfect!

I’m loving the cool change. The heat was beginning to get unbearable! I’m so glad that it’s been bare legs + sweater weather, and it doesn’t get much better than that after a sweltering hot summer! The city has been extra-beautiful, and walking around has been a pure delight. I have two more weeks of crisp air and cool evenings before Kat, Shauna and I head to Australia… And then it’ll be time for sundresses and swimsuits all over again!

I can’t get quite get my head around it, to be honest…

The amount of things that need to be checked off the list before I fly to L.A. (where I’ll meet Shauna and fly on to Brisbane) is sick. Intense. Extreme. Major. If only I could clone myself!

Things I Love ThursdayShopping with Gabby and Ruby… And watching Gabby do her thing!

J’adore… This quote from Michael Taft: “Everything is not only alive, but soaked with divinity, dunked in “god-ness” or “goddess-ness.” Angelica Kitchen dates Good mail days! Friends who give you Miu Miu and McQueen shoes?! What magical universe is this?! Realising that on Halloween, I’ll be flying through a rainforest in a full-body harness Hypnotic alien butts (don’t ask) My oversized mohair cardigan (“Made from the hair of the mo,” as my husband says) which I snagged at Buffalo Exchange Chunky crystal necklaces Texting about Marilyn Manson (like, always) Organising THE BEST venues for Blogcademy 2014, you don’t even know! “Lipstick wiccans” Leopard-print LadurĂ©e boxes Gravity (my first IMAX experience… Totally worth it!) American Horror Story: Coven, which I watched with extreme glee last night! My bright pink sheepskin (!!!) which I have layered into the ghost chair at my desk for maximum comfort and extreme fabulousness Being a responsible adult… Kind of Citrine crystals Leather pants (drool) Burning candles while I write Finally getting my mitts on a copy of Rock N Roll Bride magazine… Gorgeous! My husband’s cooking (did I luck out or what?) Very very very good things in the pipeline…

Things I Love ThursdayI call these my “Elizabeth Taylor from the future” earrings (ASOS!). This pin is from the 1960s and it cracks me up.

Your gratitude prompt: As the seasons change around you, what are you most thankful for? Cozy socks, delicious soup, ice-skating anticipation? If you’re in the Southern Hemisphere, maybe you’re glad about pink blossoms, big blue skies, sun on your back. Share it with me on Facebook or on your own blog!

“Develop an attitude of gratitude, and give thanks for everything that happens to you, knowing that every step forward is a step toward achieving something bigger and better than your current situation.”(Brian Tracy)
