Walking for Betsey Johnson at New York Fashion Week–definitely one of those once-in-a-lifetime, I’ll-never-forget-this, holy-shit-I-can’t-believe-this-is-happening-to-me kind of moments. I think I can die happy now! Even better, Mike & Molly & Emily came along for moral support & it was so good to know they were there (even though I couldn’t see them)!

NYFW in general! During past seasons, the very thought of fashion week has kind of made me grind my teeth & make faces; I headed into this season dreading it. But the thing is, as time passes, you feel less like a fish out of water. After a few seasons of attendance, you become much less self-conscious & you stop caring about fitting in. You get to know the photographers lurking around the entrance; you see familiar faces at shows; the PR people working the shows are no longer a bunch of strangers who want to ruin your fun (!), but rather people you’ve developed a relationship with! You have a gaggle of friends there, you know what you’re doing & you know what the process is. It starts to become more comfortable & less painful.

I had such a great time. Sure, by the time it’s over, you feel like you’ve been run over repeatedly, but when else do you have an excuse to dress up SO much, see all the people you know, & be inspired by the drama on the runway? It was lovely. Thanks NYFW for a great event!

Paris in two days! Perhaps most importantly, Nubby arrives in NYC this afternoon & we go to Paris on Saturday! Everything is happening so quickly, which is really exciting, but I feel like I haven’t had a moment to breathe! Here’s a secret: as soon as I’ve posted this & eaten my lunch, I am going back to bed tout de suite!

Ordering crepes when I’m so exhausted I can barely move Shocking pink luggage!!! (It just arrived, dying!) Pink glitter press-on Salon Effects from Sally Hansen (I’m going to try it tomorrow!) “Frankenfooter?!” My boyfriend, of course, who continues to be the best in the world (no offense to your respective boyfriends!) Finding out that if you sign up for Patricia Field’s website, you get 30% off! Um, no brainer… My favourite pair of purple sweatpants (it ain’t glamorous, but a girl has to relax sometime!) & finally, I have THE BEST surprise planned for you guys when I get back from my trip away! I think–no, I KNOW–you’re going to love it! I can’t wait to share!
