Things I Love Thursday

Learning about colour — I had an Aura-Soma consultation with Joycelle on my birthday & it was mind-blowing. As well as giving me lots of insight as to where I was & where I needed to get to, she told me a lot about colour & how we can use it for transformation. She told me to incorporate more blue & turquoise into my life, & since then I have been wearing blue almost every day, & this might sound kooky, but I have been feeling better than I have in a long time! I can’t really explain it but I feel more productive & lucid, which is a great thing! We chose an Aura-Soma bottle for me to start using which arrived a couple of days ago, it is bright pink (of COURSE!) & it smells amazing, & so I am basically dabbing this yummy love-generating oil on myself, massaging it into my skin & smelling it all day. It is pretty incredible! BY THE WAY we’re kicking off our psychic Q&A section TOMORROW! YAY!

Long phone/Skype conversations. I have been having a lot of them recently, it’s like everyone has so much to say & discuss! & even though I have so much work to do, it has been really really good to reconnect with everyone, comb through our lives & analyse the hell out of everything!

Dinner with new friends — Last night I went to one of my favourite restaurants with Mer (who is one of the co-founders of everyone’s favourite magazine, Coilhouse!) & we had such a great time! She is wonderful, we talked non-stop & laughed until we actually cried. She is fantastic company, I like her so very much. Also, she said this about the dark side of Burning Man, & I laughed so hard I couldn’t breathe: “I’m going to take an E & dry-hump some random person on a fun-fur bean-bag.” MWAH!

Watching Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory — From 1971, natürlich! It is so ridiculous & bad but I love it anyway. & did you know that it was given that title because at the time, the word “Charlie” was a nickname for the Viet Cong? Also, did you know that the exterior of the chocolate factory was Munich’s gas works? & that the picture held up by the newscaster of the last finder of the Golden Ticket was Nazi Martin Bormann?! ALSO did you know that Roald Dahl (my birthday twin!) HATED the adaptation SO MUCH he never saw it?! Apparently he saw some of it by mistake in a hotel room but changed the channel as soon as he realised what it was!

That the rumour about the Montgomery animal shelter closing down & euthanizing any animals left was not true — but mostly this comment left on this article:

Too bad it wasn’t true. I was gonna start a cat boxing league with all the adopted cats.

Aahaahahahaha!

Honourable mentions: Gonzo: The Life & Work of Hunter S. Thompson (this is much better than any other documentary I have seen on him — it was released in December last year & produced by Johnny Depp); papillon puppies; the word “Wonkamania”; “I am now telling the computer EXACTLY what he can do with a lifetime supply of chocolate!”; 2-for-1 cocktails; Pee Wee Herman on Twitter!; MAC Cosmetics, yesterday, today, tomorrow; rad feedback on Love & Sequins #5; old episodes of the Krypton Factor on television; irresponsible breakfasts; not getting a lot of work done because I’m spending so much time talking to friends; this tweet; this one too!; Kylie Minogue & her come-hither eyebrow (zing!) — I actually think it is totally rad even though many people do not; having Fashion TV playing constantly while I work & periodically getting up to GAPE at something; Yayoi Kusama anticipation; rain (it is also the name of an excellent track); Eminem (my friend the other day was thrashing Relapse & now I really like it); waking up early every morning; that The Rum Diaries are being made into a movie!!! (I’m having an HST week, can you tell?); watching Madonna Truth Or Dare which I really love & find totally fascinating, she is incredible (& if you want to get the gist of it, read this — Warren Beatty: [after Madonna declines to talk to her doctor off-camera] “She doesn’t want to live off-camera, much less talk. There’s nothing to say off-camera. Why would you say something if it’s off-camera? What point is there existing?”); planning hotel rooms + lingerie + cameras, YAY, & finally, this quote from Paris Hilton… It makes me laugh, I just love the way she puts it!

“The only rule is don’t be boring & dress cute wherever you go. Life is too short to blend in.” – Paris Hilton

Oh & in other news I really do think there should be more musical interludes, sing-a-longs & choreographed routines in everyday life. Don’t you agree?!
