Things I Love Thursday

Girls with violet hair; hula-hoop wriggling; big bunches of balloons; fairy floss; kink; Russia; booty-bangin’ bass; Halcyon’s Burning Man video (I think I have a teeny crush…); going on adventures to new places; clocks worn anywhere but the wrist; Tupac Shakur; “The thing I love most about the web is..” at SXSW!; gift vouchers; bearded ladies (I have one on my wall) & P.T. Barnum’s host of “freaks”; birthday cake-eating phonecalls on Skype (my favourite psychic, Ed, turns a year older on September 1st!); I must be emo (funny forever); random phonecalls from excitable girls; cat’s eye makeup; dreaming about New York pizza; plotting for the future; bubble mixture; dressing up; & Fafi’s inspiration!

    it’s so inspiring and she has such an eye for color! plus she loves my little ponies and has a collection that potentially beats mine at age seven. my favorites were the sea ponies, and i knew all the lines and songs from the movies.

Today, I was at my soon to be new school and i was looking at the cheerleading squad (seeing as they didnt have a dance team i figured this would be just as good) Tragically, 1/4 of the girls couldnt even do a cartwheel—it was one of those like when your five and you kinda just jump on your hands thing.

    So instead i went to my studio and me and my partner, Danny, were Lindy Hopping
    and he dropped me,
    so now my ankle is twice the size of my other.

    But other than that, im having a really wonderful thursday =D

    This article. Because it’s still Wednesday here. And TILT gets me all excited, because the day after Thursday is FRIDAY ; the girls in my cosmetology class. we’re all so different, it’s just amazing ; irony; the lame classic rock cd i found in my car today; tattoos; and GALA!!

  4. Lots of simple little things make me happy!
    Like… spending time with people who make you feel great (my friend who’s moving very far away, and I spent tonight hanging out with her).
    Or, wearing something that makes you feel great, no matter how other’s think it looks. (How great is that rush of self-confidence? It’s like instant high!)
    Or, getting very cool postcards from very cool people! * Wink * * Wink * * Nudge * * Nudge *
    Or, reading my daily horoscope, and if it’s good, I clip it out to put in my journal.
    Or, getting two books for the price of one. Especially when they’re guilty pleasures.

  5. I leave for senior year of college early tomorrow morning, so I have been packing for most of the day. Usually packing is terrible for me but it has gone surprisingly smoothly!
    Things that have made me happy:
    -Aesop Rock’s None Shall Pass…I’ve spent about 30% of my day breaking into dance in the midst of suitcases and boxes.
    -I had a really yummy lunch of cheesey noodles and veggies.
    -I took a break this afternoon to watch Amelie for the first time ever and it captured my heart.
    -My boss made me cookies as a goodbye gift and I have been munching them all day :)
    -New glasses!

I started school last week, and its great :p, my seat is by the window and outside there is a big tree which leaves are tiny, they look like confetti, well the thing is that when the wind comes trough my window it blows some leaves all over me and it feels like a CELEBRATION, that thing had make me so happy, it makes me wanna sing

  7. My new Revlon Bedroom Eyes powder liner.
    Getting my question answered on FruityBeauty.
    My farewell gift of a book full of lovely messages and photos from all my friends at my old job.
    Finally getting THE Cosmo issue in NZ (am I getting old, or is Cosmo getting sillier? Thank goodness it has at least ONE superfantastic article!).
    Having the house to myself and playing deeply uncool heartfelt guitar rock/power ballads – oh yes I have definite Westie tendencies.
    Practising my dancing with my girlfriends at lunchtime.
    Completing some tidying jobs that have been bugging me for weeks – hall cupboard: done!
    ‘Cupcake’ in my inbox.

  8. I am happy because I am getting a new car and tickets to see the Police in concert.

    And reading Vogue and planning what fabric to buy from Spotlight this weekend.

    And reading fabulous things like ‘The Ikon and the Axe’ by James Billington, the iCing Project – have to have my daily Gala fix, Go Fug Yourself and all the funny facebook messages my friends leave me makes me glow.

  9. That Halcyon video is blissful. I hadn’t really thought about BM toooooo much this week… until now! We’re planning a trip to the UK in August next year, and I’ve been daydreaming about extending it a week to go to BM on the way home. Now I am REALLY fixating on it. We plan to come back and start making babies, what better excuse for one hell of a last hurrah?

Today, I got all dressed up in an indecently short dress (which I never do), went to Target (which I never do), and spent two hours there shopping for nothing but household necessities (well, ok, I bought a surprisingly cute dress as well). Then I snuck over to my aunt’s house while she was at work and enjoyed basking in the end-of-summer sun beside her pool (which I never do). Sounds boring, but the best part? I smiled to myself all day…which is another thing I never do.

Things I Love Thursday for me is going to magnation after work to browse and drink chai, playing with the turtles after they’ve been watered for the day, getting complimented on my work ethic by the senior management, going to the salon to have my hair straightened for a photo shoot tomorrow and my boyfriend calling me pumpkin as he left the house this morning.

    Its also my friday this week! So i’m totally in love with thursday :)

These are a few of my favorite thursday things…..Sunshine, pink tights, Satsuma bodywash ,Tali and Minuit on my ipod,Jasmin Green Tea pearls,tiger print scarf ( ah grrr) Happy Customers, my new brown boots, newly cut fringe,coffee with jo,wedding ring arrived ( soo pretty and bling!) one day till the weekend and a glass of wine :)

The Virgin Suicides soundtrack by Air, spending money on issues of Dazed & Confused and Juxtapoz just to get home and cut and paste into works of art, fennel tea, fresh figs, QUITTING SMOKING, running, a glass of red wine before bed, slathering on sunscreen, skype-sex, learning to enjoy going out to coffee without cigarettes, exploring Jerusalem in a whole different way…

    ...To name a few.

  17. This is going to be a long list …

    Things I love are chocolate, sleeping long OR getting up really early, writing e-cards or letters to my friends, making stuff (drawing, knitting, sewing, making collages, anything that gives you a result to look at and a process to enjoy), borrowing heaps of magazines from the library (right now I love interiour design mags), reading good children’s literature, wearing nice make-up or nail polish, drinking tea, nice and colourful napkins, browsing flickr (if anything fails, I search for kittens!:-)), watching a good movie and discovering how many great old movies are still out there to be watched, movies with Toshiro Mifune (my favourite ever Samurai – I’m thinking of finally ordering “Yojimbo” on DVD ...) ...

    Well, let’s see how much of that I can manage today, but the chocolate, e-card and tea missions are already accomplished. ;-)

  18. today has been great.
    super melbourne weather (i got to enjoy some of it at least when i wasn’t at work),
    some jewellery i made is up on the gallery website where i’ll be holding my very first solo exhibition next month (eeeee!),
    my dog (and furry best friend) is enjoying a delish raw bone – that makes him happy and me happy!
    and my cold is starting to go away finally.
    hoorah for thursday!
    oh and i just wanted to say thank you to you gala, i love that you post every day. there are quite a lot of blogs that i read and am disappointed not to see an update (i don’t update every day either woops!). but i know that every day when i stop by iCing i will see your pretty face and be able to read your funny stories and great advice. you rock girly!!

  27. Well it’s friday, but i’m sure this will count on a technicality! I love the concept of making a list of things that are floating my boat at the moment as it’s such a great way of making you think how much you have in your life to be greatful for and happy about at this moment and time!
    Seeing Sting and the Police in Wellington next year on my grand tour of new zealand!

    Sugary breakfast cereal-fruit loops!
    Having my hair cut and dyed before my date tomorrow-the first one in three months after getting over a 19 month relationship!
