Things I Love Thursday!
<3 Super-size it! <3
1. To Flickr with love, 2. Grady McFerrin ~ Illlustration, 3. flou, 4. stella mccartney fitting room wall, 5. delivery, 6. Bunny Face!

Ah, bonjour! You’re new to iCiNG, huh? Are you wondering what this is all about?

Well, every week, anyone who wants to participate is welcome to join in on Things I Love Thursday (TiLT for short). What this means is that we make lists of the things that make us smile, make our heart flutter with excitement & make us dance spontaneous jigs in the middle of the street! Then we share them with one another. I think one of the best ways to get excited about your life is to take stock of the things in it which are already magnificent, fabulous & delightful! If you do it regularly, it starts to become a way of thinking — you feel that your life is already full of glory & wonder, rather than lacking. It’s one of the best ways I know to start feeling real happiness.

So, if you’ve never taken part before — or if you’ve just been skipping out on TiLT for a while — make this week the week you start expressing real love & gratitude & appreciation for yourself & your life. You don’t have to do it publicly if you don’t want to, but just give it a try! I think you’ll find it quite wonderful.

“The talent for being happy is appreciating and liking what you have, instead of what you don’t have.” — Woody Allen

Now, without further ado… my list!

<3 Luxurious lounging — You know, when it’s hot, to me there’s nothing better than swanning around in front of the air conditioner in a black silk slip, with a wristful of jangling bracelets & my damp hair twisted up into an unruly chignon. (I wish I had my kimono here because it would totally add to the ambience, but truly, it’s too hot for it.) It’s lovely to just do nothing; stay out of the heat & walk around my place & think & listen to music & make notes.

<3 Creating vision-boards — I have been meaning to do it for the past couple of days, I really need to go & buy a cork-board so I can start! But I keep getting really excited about it & dreaming about it, which is why it’s getting a mention! If you don’t know what I’m talking about, basically a vision board (or an inspiration board, or a dream sheet, or mood board, or any combination you like!) is a space you create where you pin up pictures, words, trinkets & anything else you find inspiring. Some people use them to remind them of the things they want to achieve, while others use them to aid them in creative projects or to help them keep looking forward. I can’t wait to make a new one! I think it will be my big weekend project. & if you want some inspiration to make your own, look at the Inspiration Boards group on Flickr!

<3 Girl Talk — I didn’t even know about this artist, & based on the name I feared it was a girl pop group with 4 members or something, but I’m so glad I decided to risk it! Girl Talk is mash-ups taken to the next level; I love it. My new favourite activity is to listen to it while I’m walking around & test my own music knowledge by naming, in my head, the artist & song title of what I can hear. Geeky but gleeful! The newest album, Feed The Animals is available for download for a donation of your choosing. Awesome.

<3 Getting involved in the city — There is no better way to take ownership of a place than to get involved in it. Since the last TiLT, I have participated in a bubble battle, been to a wine & cheese party, gone dancing, attended an Alice in Wonderland-themed birthday, seen the New York Philharmonic play in Central Park (followed by fireworks!), seen Sera Beak talk & visited a cupcake shop at 9.30pm which had a queue out the door! The best thing? None of these activities cost me a dime (with the exception of Sera Beak but it was worth every penny). It’s amazing to be in a city you are in love with — it changes your entire outlook. The thing is, even if you’re stuck in a tiny country-bumpkin town which bores you, there are still always things to be excited by, to enjoy, to find pleasure in. So find them!

<3 Chelsea — Coolest neighbourhood ever. Every time I see men holding hands as they walk down the street, it gives me a huge dose of happy! It might sound like a small thing but it makes me so very, very gleeful that I felt it deserved a mention all of its own. Ahhh!

<3 Honourary mentions: Soy coffee with honey; cupcakeries which are open until late at night; Spice Girls (I have honestly never listened to them by choice before this week & I’ve been really enjoying it, haha!); metaphysical pampering; pomegranate yerba mate tea; late night trips to Wholefoods & cardboard boxes of Turkish Delight; good black pens & permanent markers in pastel colours; dark chocolate with peppermint oil; Panic! At The Disco (still!); Greek (still!); honeysuckle (I haven’t seen any but I love it anyway); the strangely exuberant but harmless man who told me this morning that I had “beautiful toes”; my book of matches, courtesy of Sera Beak, which says “Ignite Your Divine Spark” (!); open invitations (Austin, Philadelphia, Montreal, London, Miami?!... but I am staying here for now); making an effort to connect; crossing things off my to-do list (Virgo power); sitting around in my underwear singing & writing & smiling!

“Most of us are just about as happy as we make up our minds to be.” — William Adams

Ain’t that the truth? Alright, moonshine. Your turn!

Love letters & feather headdresses,

  1. I have a huge inspiration board right in front of my desk. It’s got everything from frangipanis (my favourite flower) to postcards, ticket stubs and the best thing of all David Hasselhoff.

I’ve been meaning to update it but everything sort of has its place but it always makes me happy.

  9. Always my favorite post of the week =) I can’t get enough luxurious lounging, it’s basically the best. It’s so wonderful that you are getting involved in the city, it’s very inspirational. i’m the type who would hole up and be a little hermit, but i think if i was in nyc i would be getting out there as much as possible too. oh, and the bunny dog is identical to one of my little pups, hehe. same markings, eye color, and all-around adorability (not sure if that’s a word, but ya know). by the way, how long are you planning to stay in new york?

  11. Sophie- I can’t WAIT for Doctor Who!! :D

    Today I looooove….

-wellies, puddles, and torrential rain. yesterday i walked my dog in the park with some shiny wellies on my feet, and went nuts on the puddles. i’ve never had so much fun!

-the fact that it’s the end of term today!

-how i’ve realised from that looking at things positively, and bearing a smile will really turn your day from what could potentially be an awful one into an amazing one!

-new music, as always. i went out yesterday and completely binged myself on it, buying four albums!!

-my breakfast (which i am just about to go eat), i cannot live without it.

  14. TiLT-

*Having greenery in my room – my friends bought me a lucky bamboo plant and a bunch of jonquils to cheer me up while I was getting over my tonsillectomy. The flowers have been crisped up by the heater, but they still make me smile, they look so happy!

*Bargains – I went on a shopping spree and got a whole lot of cheap stuff including $250 worth of beautiful high quality linen that has completely changed the look of my room for $135, and a sexy sexy sexy dress reduced by $90! I am such a shopaholic!

*Tokyomade – after seeing photo after photo of Gala wearing her favourite Tokyomade earrings, I decided to check it out, and fell in love with the most exquisite ring! So yes, I bought it, and now I love Tokyomade too!

*Makeup – after sitting in bed feeling gross for a week, it was so awesome to today get up and go through the motions of doing my face and hair again, so that I looked great and could go out…instead of looking like a zombie!

*My boyfriend whining – I shouldn’t get glee from other’s moaning, but he is complaining about how I can’t go camping with him and that makes me feel loved and special, lol. Nawww.

*Green P Plates – they just look so funny they make me laugh everytime I look at them…can’t wait to put them on my car!

    xo

  18. M.B. Whimsical, I love pushing daisies too! so sad it didn’t come back after the writer’s strike.

my main love is putting all my energy into preparing for our super awesome eurotrip – we leave on saturday! as in, the day after tomorrow!

red rock deli tzatziki flavoured chips, and vodka lemon lime & bitters. a combination I am very much enjoying right now

sunny cold days. we’ve been having this kind of weather for the last week in sydney, although I wouldn’t have called yesterday or today ‘cold’. it’s been beautiful!

getting up early and going for a walk around the neighbourhood in the sunshine wearing bright pink tights. I love dressing up just to go for a walk!

the cheap bunches of jonquils, daffodils and other spring flowers already starting to appear at florists.

going home to my parent’s house and coming back with heaps of ‘new’ clothes – this time I got a pair of suspenders dad had forgotten he had, a few dresses mum has decided she’s too old for (she’s not, but I’m not going to complain!), some skirts I made for myself in high school and sort of got sick of but now I like them again, and a nice wool jumper that was dad’s but he shrunk in the wash – conveniently to my size!

having a sausage sizzle over a fire at the campground we used to go to when I was a kid. and toasted marshmallows after!

  21. Hmmm, so much to choose from…

    - Finally finding the perfect coffee table for my flat. It’s big and square and bright green, and made from industrial metal. I plan to surround it with heaps of stripey pink floor cushions and conduct my leisure/social life around it. It will play host to a steady rotation of art notebooks for myself and visitors, beading tools, books, flowers and tea parties, ha!

    - Not watching TV in the evenings, and instead playing music, burning incense, working online and doing chores that will free up my weekends for fun!

    - Having internet access at home, so I can check in on all of my favourite naughty websites that aren’t suitable for work

    - My first bidding adventure on ebay! I’m currently waiting to see whether I ‘win’ the auction on a pair of vintage Dan Post cowboy boots (I’ve been looking for the right pair since the ‘How to Wear Pink Cowboy Boots’ post). Wish me luck!

    - Finding this website, and being able to participate in it… I’ve recently moved to Melbourne and working hard in a new job, which hasn’t left much time for finding new friends. It’s really nice to start entering into this little community and feeling ‘connected’ with others. And may I say, what a pleasure it is to find a bunch of such interesting, creative, curious and smart people in one web community. Hooray for all of you!

    Love to you all x

    ~ exploring products at lush
~ my wonderful deep purple nailpolish that makes my nails look like candy (yum!)

~ playing music loudly and dancing without a care in the world
~ karaoke car rides (best with friends and through drive thrus)

    * oh and oddly enough i was talking to my mom about a vision-board-esque topic because i noticed that she tapes pictures of things she longs for such as particular items she wants in catalogues or things she needs to do and she won’t take them off until she has accomplished that “goal”... (just found that quite interesting)

  29. Things I love this Thursday

    - Being able to participate in TILT for the first time in several weeks. I finished my finals a week last Monday and was in no fit state on Thursday (too tired!) to do it.

    - Baking and cooking things with no wheat/dairy. I became (hopefully temporarily!) intolerant of wheat and lactose, so I’ve been making lots of fun things. Mostly different polenta cakes!

    - Being able to read normal things. I just finished Chocolat, Snobs and French Women Don’t Get Fat. There are a whole host of books I want to read now.

    - Remembering languages – I also started reading a very simplified version of Notre Dame de Paris in French

    - Seven For All Mankind jeans. I went to a shop with a big sale yesterday and tried on a pair of Sevens. My Mum was like “They’re the best jeans I’ve ever seen you in” so I had to buy them, even though I haven’t been wearing jeans much lately. It’s so nice to find jeans which are the right length AND look good. They’re also the Superflare ones, so I’m going back to my wide-leg (as compared to my recent straight-leg phase) days.
Any suggestions on what to wear them with would be very much appreciated!!!!!!

    - Same great shoes, 2 different colours (that was another purchase yesterday… so I now have no money!)

    - Friends doing amazingly well in their results

    - Watching DVDs and TV. Stardust is amazing, Romeo and Juliet (first time I ever watched it. Yes I’m behind!) is beautiful, 24 very exciting (4 episodes last night) and Practical Magic also excellent!

    - Nicole Kidman. I think I want her to be my new style icon, helps that she’s tall and ginger like me!

    - Vogue – I got it for the first time last week and I am loving the photography

  31. Fabulous shoes! I’m moving back to my parents’ house and it’s far too stressful to do without a bit of glamour. An added thing I love is roping in a rather lovely boy to do the heavy lifting to save me from breaking my neck carrying boxes in 4 inch heels.

Holidays! And having so little to do at work today that I can sit around emailing my sister about our trip to Florence.

Shiatsu! I’ve been suffering a bout of severe depression and anxiety and have got into shiatsu to try to do something for myself rather than relying on meds. I just rang up this morning to book my next appointment. Lovely.

Chocolate (and mums)! It was my mum’s birthday yesterday and as I live 300 miles away I wasn’t around to make a cake. I ordered her some champagne and strawberry chocolate truffles from Charbonnel et Walker. She sounded thrilled with them, I just hope she saves me at least one..

  33. Yay Things I Love Thursday!!

Getting assignments done -there is nothing more satisfactory then finishing an assignment and knowing I’ve done really well.

Getting a letter in the mail from my old best friend – that is quite lovely, I haven’t heard from her for agggeeesss.

Writing letters – even if I don’t send them… it feels good to have my thoughts on paper.

Spending time with my friends – something good about having my friends around and knowing I can act like an idiot and they will still love me.

My boyfriend – he is truly the best person I know

My brother – another great person who has only been with me for a short while in my life but knows me inside out….and he isnt related to me.

Pretty sunsets – they are beautiful especially out west.

Gala’s blog – great way to will away school time reading up past blogs. and seeing the new stuff that has come out.

constanly thinking of Italy – if I keep thinking and wishing hard enough…it might just happen.

Looking at typewriters – so old and beautiful. does anyone know where I might find one for a cheapish price, but it still works?

    Love Tilt as well.
I’ve had a great and happy day. Hope everyone else did as well.

  34. Dreams – I had the most amazing dream last night. I was living in Paris in a tiny ramshackle house in a back street with other students. It wasn’t glamorous but I had my own little bedroom to sit and overlook the city from and it was so magical and artsy. I only seemed to go out at night and it was all so beautiful.

Football – I love football. And my boyfriend just got us tickets to a very important match in August. He spent 5 hours ringing and ringing until he got through. I know there probably aren’t many nonpareils who are into football but what can I say, it’s a passion!

Hairdye – I dyed my hair from pink&blue to brown a month ago and it’s been making me seriously depressed for the last few days. But today I’m dying it blue/purple!! I’m so excited!

Feeling Better – I’ve had a nasty bout of tonsillitis but I’m starting to feel much much better now.

Polyvore This is just addicting!! I love that i can make anything i want from a room-inspiration to a fabulous fashion set, anything is just possible..

My notes from the Universe I got myself subscribed on them and they are just lovely to get in your inbox! And the little notes at the bottom of the mail just makes me giggle everytime, today it said ‘You can have, do, or be anything, amika: the fairest in the land, fearless at sea, popular among natives, capable of pulling red real leather bags out of a hat… Why are you making that face?’ lol __

Liberation? I love my new High Waist jeans with wide legs..Now i can have fun what to combine them with. Plus it makes me feel very free because my boyfriend totally hated them when i was trying them on at a store and told me not to buy them but since our love is over… i thought i could give myself a treat :D

*my wonderful boyf, just one of the wonderful things he’s done lately is sent me a pop up card of himself with arms outstretched when i went to visit my parents in another city for a few days. so sappy, hilarious & adorable! *making waffles *gossip girl – soo newly obsessed *dressing up as characters for the day for no reason (margot tenenbaum, and blair of course) *parties to look forward to – animal themed, fashion disaster & a midwinter christmas *geeking out over seven new angel comics at once *watching old fav movies – marie antoinette, amelie

  38. These past few days have been perhaps dull to the untrained eye, but secretly they have been a few days dripping with deliciousness!

    I love:

    - altering my thinking and reaping the benefits – I decided today that I would focus on the good, to wear my inner goddess on my sleeve, and so many nice things happened! People randomly started conversations, asked for advice, gave compliments, offered to do me favours. I love the Law of Attraction!

    - Getting a whole lot of validation from teachers – it turns out I’m pretty damn good at some things that I had previously doubted my ability in.

    - My friends, who organised to buy some presents for a teacher who’s going through a rough time at the moment. It was so nice to see her smile, she was so touched!

    - Having wonderfully sweet dreams that I can think about during the following day – they never fail at putting a smile on my face.

    - Camomile tea – gallons of it! Old photos from holidays past! Planning for the distant distant future! Happiness itself!

  39. This is an odd day as a few of my things are just like your list, Gala!

    * London, amazing city that it is. Saving money as much as possible to go nuts in American Apparel, Beyond Retro and B Cosmetics.

    * Origami hearts, I made the origami heart you linked to on Monday during a productivity lull and it looks lovely and girly up on my noticeboard!

    * My noticeboard also, oddly enough. This is a bit freaky, but I applied for a particular thing months ago that was really competitive and stuck the leaflet on the board to kind of keep that goal in sight and mind and I got it! I dunno if it helped but I like to think it did.

    * Finding things to do in my own locale. There’s actually a pretty decent comedy festival soon!

    * Lush Ultra Bland cleanser. My skin had gotten very dotty with red bits, and around my nose was very bumpy and red and sore, but one cleanse with Ultra Bland and the soreness was gone, the redness hugely decreased and all but the biggist bump smoothed out. I dunno how it does it but… Yippee!!

    * Exercise. I have started to follow a “Couch to 5k” exercise plan after, to be honest, about 2 years being out of the regular exercise habit. Not that I’ve been completely couch bound all that time, but exercise had become something I did very randomly and as a result I ended up tired and cranky after. And larger! The familiar feeling of muscle tightness the next day is actually so nice to have again, as I know I must have done something right!

Summer Photo shoots. Winter can bring some pretty pictures of fluffy snow, but nothing compares to taking my camera on a trip to the ocean on a warm sunny day.

My new book, Eckhart Tolles A new earth. It’s my self-improvement book of the moment. And am I the only one or does self-improvement sound better then self-help?

  49. My Macbook – My parents bought me one for coping so well in my GCSE’s and because they believe that I’ve done really well

My MAC make up – I’m using MAC make up for my prom and it’s amazing!

My Mum’s cardigan – I stole it to go job hunting and it made me feel really sophistimacated :)

A Series of Unfortunate Events – I watched the film again last night and I love the darkness of it and it reminded me of when I used to read the books when I was going through my ‘goth’ stage.

My new room – It’s not completley finished but it looks so much bigger now I’ve got rid of all the mess. Oddly I made a huge moodboard like you Gala ready to go on my wall. I’d been waiting forever to make it and I love it and have so many pictures left I’m gonna make more

Things I love this Thursday are:
My boyfriend – I’ve been with him for four whole years and we’re moving in together soon. Basically he’s the best thing that ever happened to me, he makes me smile, laugh, hysterical, happy etc and he’s my best friend.

My family – most particularly my younger sister who’s going on holiday today and I’m going to miss her loads!

Books – I’ve got a ton of new books lined up for me to ready and I’m really excited about snuggling up in bed and reading them.

I hope everyone has a lovely Thursday!

  60. I love:

Missing my boyfriend: I haven’t seen him in a month. I’m going somewhat crazy without him, but the longer the wait the more excited I am about seeing him again. Missing him makes me love him more, so I’ve stopped considering his absence a bad thing. Plus, I have oodles and kaboodles of me time!

Painting my toenails while waiting for games to match-make in Halo 3: I like to embrace my feminine side even when I’m playing first-person-shooters with the guys.

Buying new pretty underwear: It’s like a present for myself and my bf. I can never have enough undies!

Planning for the next semester: I’m leaving home! The possibilities are endless! Shall I go vegan? Get a tattoo? Finally start my band!? I’m so excited.

Carrying bubbles wherever I go: I’ve been doing this since your bubble battle post. It’s so much fun.

Dying my hair: Last week I dyed my hair bright red. It’s positively lovely. I look like the little mermaid!

I’ve taken a break from my blog for a couple of days because I’ve just been set my first bit of course work and I’m really bad at meeting deadlines so I’ve decided to buck up and take charge! :D
    I am loving:

My blog readers It feels so nice to be appreciated and to know that I – just a girl from london(ish) – am having an effect on people! It’s strange but in my head I have a little image of a dot on a map being me and then lines linking me to all sorts of new and exotic places just because someone from Scotland says I’m funny! Long live the compliments!

Aren Aren is from Confessions of a high fashion lover and is a loyal reader of my blog! Her’s is fantastic too! I can’t get enough of it! I urge you all to read it! http://canyousayfashion.blogspot.com/

Baking I baked cupcakes last night and I had muffin cases so they were really big and nice! They come out very well and I gleefully hand them out around school to people who have done me favours! It’s the best bit, walking up to a stranger and offering them a pink-topped cupcake just because they smiled at you once!

Mr. Timmy Toad Cunningly named after the Wind In The Willows Mr. Toad..who was played by my friend in theis years school play! I played Albert the horse, no ones heard of him but I was informed it’s quite a big role?!
Anyway, I found a toad in my garden yesterday and I built it a little house by the pondy-bit using a plantpot, some paints and a miniflag! ;)

Planning my outfit for tomorrow! I belive I mentioned it yesterday so I shan’t bore you all again! :P Although I have decided to add candy necaklaces around my neck and wrists!

  122. Your tilt made me smile, Gala. You have the magical ability to infuse everything you say with happiness and inspiration. ;]

    Ok, enough of the Gala-love.
It’s summer break for me, which is enough to make me want to give the universe a hug… But further than that:

+My red hair! [squeal!] Last weekend my mom finally gave in and let me die my hair the colour of my choosing, as long as it was relatively “normal”. So I picked red, auburn to be exact. It makes me giggle with delight every time I look in the mirror

+Music! Katy Perry, Charoltte Sometimes, The Who {not exactly a new band, but, aww, how could you not love someone with a song like Teenage Wasteland?}, Panic, {thanks for informing me of When The Day Met The Night, I haven’t stopped listening to it since}, Duffy, Blondie, etc. etc.

+Sitting around all day eating Chinese food and writing

+Sleeping waaay passed the time I should be up

+Vegas summers… hot and the perfect excuse for ice cream

    +The Boston/Styx conncert on Saturday

+My birthday, which is in 12 days

+Playing Rock Band with my dad until 1 in the morning

    +Rockstar Roasted {horribly unhealthy, but, I don’t care}

    +Life in general

    +My red hair! {But I already mentioned that}

    I’m really happy this week.

Oh, and on the inspiration board thing, my walls are covered in cork boards like that. Before I just tacked stuff to my walls, but my mom hates that {the holes in her walls} so she bought me five different cork boards, and I pin everything on there now. I’ve got one giant one on the wall next to my vanity, and four circles on the opposite wall. I love them, each time I look at them I giggle, remembering all the silly things that each little thing on them reminds me of. Maybe I’ll put pictures up on my blog later.

    Ok, enough blabbering!

    1) Lazy mornings with my boyfriend, and just him in general. He made me eggs this morning and we watched Parental Control and ate yoghurt, and then made me go to school when I wanted to stay home, and while I didn’t appreciate it at the time I do now. Wagging is bad…
    2) Being professionally groomed. I recently had my first manicure and got my eyebrows done, and it makes such a difference to both my happiness and my appearance (they tend to go hand-in-hand, for better or worse).
    3) Doing well in school. I’ve finished most of my assessments for the year and they’ve all gone really well, leaving me free to work on my massive extra-curricular activities (editor of the school magazine, organising a regional exhibition of student artwork, scholarships…)
    4) Receiving promotional material for the uni I’m going to next year. So exciting to be able to visualise my hall of residence, and pick the courses and papers I’m going to be taking.
    4) Fight Club. God, I love that movie.

  125. Oh, I’ve kind of missed it! Um, I love wishes coming true. The Universe looking out for ME! Getting some freed-up time in an otherwise crazy day. Making the apology I’ve been DREADING all week and having it accepted most graciously.

  126. Hmmm I noe its Friday and I missed out on doing my TiLt for Thursday but I guess better late then never :)

My pink finger nails with silver glitter on them, the lady who laughed at my response to my mom on why I did not bring the cake to school today, my new gigantic specs in reddish brown, my new vintage inspired watch, red mouse, having a new top to wear almost everyday without spending a dime! Chewing mentos sweets with gusto, tattoos in surprising places, nicely styled curly hair, catching all my fave tv shows CSI, ANTM etc :)

  127. ♥ frozen marshmallows and grapes. (I didn’t believe it until I tried it… fabulous!)
♥ receiving (sending, too!) postage mail
♥ the thai restaurant down my street. They make a fabulous pad thai and coconut milk soup!
♥ summer camp. I’m working at the Oregon Collage of Arts and Crafts this summer, and i love the spirit!!!
♥ rubber band balls. No point, except they are extremely fun to add to, and make large. ...and if you ever get very board, its fun to scavenger your apartment for stray bands, and add them on!
♥ saltwater sandals. They remind you of being seven… oh those silly sevens. But i just got a patent red color at some off the main site on the internet.
♥ freckles. always wished i had more of those… and i like it when people have them on their arms or shoulders. One could NEVER have too many freckles.
♥ last one, i promise: hammocks. no explanation, they are just amazing. really, go out and get one. If you don’t have a good tree, buy one with a stand. they really should be required for relaxation by the law!!

  130. Being on vacation…!!!

I was gloomy and hormonal but because I was on vacation, I treated myself to lunch solo a TON of new clothes (had fun shopping with a girl from the store, she just kept bringing me things! ) a new haircut! whee, and new makeup!

  132. ♥ MY SAT SCORES! A 2260, and 800s on the Critical Reading and Writing. Ahhhhh!!!!!! :D :D :D

♥ Hanging out with friends & just being silly. Trying on all those bad clothes and then playing hide-and-seek in the mall was so fun! It made me feel like a kid again. And the shooting game in the arcade got us so worked up, we were sweating by the end. Hilarious.

♥ Listening to “It Happens Every Time” (by Dream Street!) over and over and over.

♥ Strawberry banana milk with tapioca pearls at Oz. Soooo good. __

♥ Sho & Kai. + Kai with Shun in the SKY video. Some moments were so adorable, like when Shun put a stick of Pocky in his mouth, and they both nibbled on the ends ‘til their lips met in a kiss. Awwwww. Also, when Sho accidentally hit Kai with his little pitchfork and Kai let out a surprised “OW!” Sho was really apologetic and rubbed the spot for him, what a sweetie. Haha, I doubt anyone knows what I’m talking about!

    ♥ Bright pink nails. Hee.

♥ Taisuke’s birthday! I have really come to love that boy. He is just a bundle of cute and silliness and fun, exactly the type of person I’d have a blast being around. Also someone no one knows, he is a Japanese idol. XD

♥ Singing “karaoke” with Cathy & Jen, then listening to the profanity in our rendition of “It Happens Every Time.” “Shut the fuck up!” “Ah, BLEEP! BLEEP!” XD

♥ Looking forward to the all the fun possibilities available this summer. There’s so much I want to do, see, and explore.

♥ Wacky dreams. After a recent one (with “Dictionary” and Hirosuke and, erm, OTHER things), I so enjoyed traumatizing my friends with the details. I think I’ll keep a dream journal this summer, because I always forget my dreams as soon as I wake up.

♥ Nozawa Yuki, another Japanese idol. He’s only fourteen years old and he is SO cute, he’s got a nose that turns up and round cheeks and ahhh, I think I’m in love. I wish I could adopt him and make him my little brother.

  137. Honeysuckle and Spice Girls FOREVER. I’ve never seen honeysuckle in your neck of the woods, however, but there are plenty in Queens!

Besides those two things, there are:
    ~ insects,
~ organization (I’m learning more skills at my internship, and it’s brilliant – I can only imagine the things your intern is up to as well, with productivity charts and subscription trends and whatnot! Let there be keywords and color-coded folders!),
~ not having allergies anymore (on Monday I stayed outside for a few hours in high-pollen weather for the first time in my life, laying on the Great Lawn in Central Park, and just SMELLING. Pollen always smelled like poison to me; I never realized it was so sweet! I almost cried of bliss),
~ my darling Upper East Side high school – it is a post-Civil-War-era brick armory, windowless, with crumbling turrets and lined with cherry trees that bear no fruit, and inside are the quirkiest sweetest people a person’ll ever meet. I think anyone would have a lot of school pride/spirit if they had gone there, too! (Big love.)
~ being able to meet people successfully no matter how awkward I feel at very first. You, Gala, have been a BIG help in this! MUAH.

  138. DRYER SHEETS! I just bought a new brand and scent just to change things up, a vanilla and jasmine scent, and they’re delicious! I’ve but some between my mattress and fitted sheet and in my pillowcases for a nice, sweet smelling bed, and have woven a few into the slats of my blinds and standing fan so the breeze blows the tasty smell all throughout my apartment. Yum!

Making sugarpaste decorations while watching old musicals and then arranging them on elaborately decorated cakes for my friends. Not only is it fun for me to do, but seeing the glee on my friend’s faces when I show up without warning bearing beautiful cake is just amazing. :)

Having dim-sum picnics in the park by myself and sketching secret little comic strips of the in the park.

Lazing around on my sofa in my underwear and a beautiful pair or shoes. It may be too warm to go out and wear them, but that doesn’t stop me from enjoying the hell out of them at home!

Finding iCiNG! This is my first week here and I’ve been loving reading all your archives! It’s so refreshing to see someone so unashamed of being happy, enjoying life without apology, and inspiring so many others to do the same! The world needs more people like you, Gala. I’m sure you get that all the time but I bet it never gets tiring!

  139. I don’t usually post my TiLT contributions here, because I always assume that no one will really be too bothered about reading the weekly penchants of little old me… least of all the super-busy Gala! However, this week I feel like I really have things to be thankful for, so… here it is!

  140. Gala, I love these Flickr faves, deliciously edible. While I don’t usually TilT, ( I like to do it every day), I do have a few this week.

*Looking forward to an occasion only to have it be more wonderful than you thought.

    *Making new, like minded friends.

    * Hearing “ Happy I love you day Mum” in the morning. *The connective power of the internet.

*Giving elderly men happy, nostalgic moments through my vintage fashion love.

    * Getting the glamor on for the Art Deco opening at the NGV.

What a week I am having. I think I may have a date with destiny.

  142. My new job. Hands down. I work for the people who sell the official shirts for the Twilight saga. It’s a book series I love, a bunch of amazing coworkers, and we listen to music all day. Plus it’s my first job, and I am amazed by how much money I’m pulling in.

  143. My Birthday I didn’t really know what to do, but I did decide to dress up every day of the weekend! My birthday was officially on Monday (23 on the 23rd), but I celebrated Friday-Tuesday with dinners, drinks, and bowling. I got a few nice phone calls and tons of Facebook messages. It was very special and nice.

Bowling It’s so so fun! I did well (for me) this week too, which is always nice. It’s just a really enjoyable social activity.

Minnie Mouse Last week I bought this really cute minnie mouse pillow from the Disney store. I love Minnie Mouse!

The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass It’s on the Nintendo DS and it’s an awesome game. I’m so addicted. I like that I have my map on the top screen and that I can write on it and it’s just really fun. My sister bought it for me for my birthday.

Making my first iMovie I took photos of me dancing and I weaved them together with iMovie on my PowerBook. It was my first time doing this and it was fun and I think it came out pretty well.
    www.flickr.com/photos/picatori…

Bones The show. I watched the first season recently and it is really good. The characters are very strong and you get to know them pretty well. And I like her outfits sometimes and I want to start dressing like her, lol.

  147. i know it’s not thursday anymore. but i think i need to do this.
    what i love this week:

spending time with my little sister and cousin- they are my equivalent to carrie bradshaw’s girls

finding out you have more in common with someone- a friend (who i don’t really talk to much) and i went shopping then saw sex and the city. the last time we truly spoke to one another was the first time we met. i realise we have so much in common!

getting first roll of film developed from my fisheye2 lomo cam

feeling carrie bradshaw when i was cleaning out my wardrobe and drawers- “take or toss?”
