Things I Love Thursday!
Super-size it!
1, 2, 3, 4.

<3 This TiLT mosaic — The two photos of the girl above are from Deutsch Elle & they make me want to draw on incredibly dramatic eyebrows & flick paint all over myself. So beautiful & inspiring!

<3 Nonpareil enthusiasm — I was talking to Sera Beak, who saw my article on her & all your comments, & she was blown away by your absolute deliciousness! She said that all your enthusiasm & love & excitement has inspired her to keep writing her second book. !!! Anyone who has read her work knows what a fabulous thing this is! & it just gives me more fuel — I love you guys!

<3 The Manhattan iCiNG Bowl — Last Friday I went to a stationery store nearby & stocked up on office supplies! I bought a whiteboard, a cork-board, whiteboard pens, markers in pastel hues, a box of pens, three soft-cover Moleskine journals, index cards (white ruled, white blank, & pink ruled), multi-coloured bulldog clips, scissors, glue… You get the picture. Anyway, now my living room has been transformed into a fabulous little inspiration station. My cork-board is covered in pictures to keep me motivated, my whiteboard has lists of things to do, my pens are all arranged & I am ready to go go go! It’s funny how just having these little things is changing my outlook, but it is, & I love it!

<3 Setting my intention — Last night I went to a new moon ritual (which is the sort of thing I would never usually do) & it was amazing. Since I started reading The Red Book (which I am still working on) I’ve decided to open myself up more & try new things. The idea of a new moon ritual is the sort of thing I would normally scoff at, but secretly want to go to. So I went. It was basically a guided meditation that went for an hour & a half, utilising the power of the new moon to assist in planting new seeds, finding fresh direction & growing upwards. We did breath exercises & chants as we focussed our minds on what our goals were. It was really, really great. (I’m going to write up a little piece about how to set intentions, too, so sit tight!)

<3 Fruit — I’m consciously increasing my intake of fruit because let’s face it, it makes a much better snack than “double-stuf” chocolate creme Oreos! (Tasty though they may be.) I have been a mandarin-segment-gobbling, blueberry-popping, strawberry-chomping fiend, & it’s making me feel so good!

<3 Having faith & trusting in the process. The more I believe the universe has my back, the more it supports me. The more I trust it, the more incredible life becomes. There is no greater gift.

<3 Jay-Z — As well as being a brilliant rapper & businessman, I adore him for being wicked cool. He was recently criticised by Noel Gallagher for headlining the Glastonbury festival. Noel said, “I’m sorry, but Jay-Z? No chance. Glastonbury has a tradition of guitar music. I’m not having hip-hop at Glastonbury. It’s wrong.” Jigga’s response? “It didn’t make me angry because I don’t know him. What people say about you is none of your business.” YES! I love you, Hov!

<3 Having time to myself — I’m an only child, so I really thrive on being alone. It’s good for me. It’s great to just sit around & be alone, to have time to myself to think & sort out my feelings, goals & passions. The other good thing about being alone is that it reminds me just how strong I am. It’s important to be reminded of that, I think.

<3 Honourable mentions: Wearing my hair in two buns (I totally ripped this off Casey from Greek — imagine, taking style tips from a fictional girl in a sorority!); strutting my stuff in high heels; packages which come with little sachets of rose petals (squeal!); watching silly shows (Australia’s Next Top Model + Tila Tequila!); napping (I have really needed it recently); imagining having a big bristly moustache to tickle people with!; shopping with Emrys!; having the Notorious BIG on my Twitter watch list!; doing interviews with fun, odd people; The Wedding Singer & The Addams Family (both of which have brought me infinite amounts of joy this week!); classical music; Chaka Khan (haha!); the fact that Nubby arrives tomorrow (!!!!!); my new hat; natural fabrics (a blessing in this heat), & of course, my air-conditioning unit. Undying love for my air-conditioning unit!

“A table, a chair, a bowl of fruit and a violin; what else does a man need to be happy?” — Albert Einstein

Et toi? What is making you happy this week? Spill thy beans!

Super-love & cupcakes,
Gala <3

  1. I don’t suppose I could hear your opinion on the AusNTM winner? Personally I didn’t care much for either of them, but I just couldn’t stand…she-who-won. Though Tila Tequila II was quite entertaining, one of the few times a show like that has “scared someone straight”! Hmmm, summer = way too much trashy tellie.

  2. Marie — I’m hesitant to say anything because I don’t want to spoil it for people who haven’t seen it yet but… it wouldn’t have been my choice. & the end of TT — shocker! I wonder how long it will be until season 3… ;D

  5. Oh Sara Beak! My copy of her book just arrived today. I purchased it based on your suggestions and after perusing her blog. Everything that she writes about has a lot to do with what I always thought myself.

I used to be really into Wicca (and once wanted to be a High Priestess). I scoff at organized religion now, but I still believe in the importance of moon cycles—simply because they remind us of the cycles in our own life.

I’m really excited to curl up and sit down with Sara Beak’s book. It’s been awhile since I’ve thought about my spirituality—it used to be something I was so passionate about.

  6. Did you see Jay-Z’s AMAZING performance at Glastonbury? He walked right out carrying a guitar and launched into a cover of Oasis’ “Wonderwall”! Now I can’t stop humming that song… Here it is if you haven’t seen it yet:

    www.youtube.com/watch?v=mrDIOV…

I’m so impressed with how Jay-Z handled the controversy and then played the best show of his career. Truly inspirational.

  7. —my new boyfriend and the purity of discovering eachother and getting to know eachother. our relationship seeming to grow stronger and more perfect each day.. (I havent had a boyfriend in over a year so this is a very rare occurance for me to have an actual boyfriend! – I finally WANT to be with a boy after saying for so long that I cant imagine having or needing a boyfriend anytime soon, and that I just need friends, but I forgot how wonderful having one is… especially this one, whom I compleeetely adore!)

—rearranging my room completely, flipping it, taking the base off my bed and creating a floorbed – i am saving for a futon but having a floor bed is such an incredible feeling!! I suggest it strongly to everyone :D

—wallpapering one wall of white with black sketched orchids and filling my room with beautiful flowers and shells – amazing feeling…nature is gorgeous n you should always surround yourself with it n appreciate its beauty!

—sticking by friends who are going through horrible times, and not judging anything they do but just being there and being a friend. not letting opinions of others change my view of people.

—counting down days until i goto euro! 58!!!

—online shopping at lauren conrads online store. delicious!!! and also etsy.com… inspiring hand made things!

hmm there are more things but these are the main happy factors of my life right now!

  8. Electric Fans in the Summertime

My new crush telling me that I’m dreamy!!!! – yes, at 22, very childish!

Filling my jetted tub with coolish water and turning the jets on – an inner city oasis when it is burning up outside

    Margaritas! Tequila in general!

My mother telling me about how when she was in her 20s she wrote away for the entire bach flower remedies kit – I love my mum!

  9. I agree with you, Gala – Jay-Z is amazing, though I’ve got to say, that cover of Wonderwall jarred a bit with my ears (though the Back in Black/99 Problems mashup was inspired. Love the pun).
My TILT: * My boyfriend, as always. He’s leaving me tomorrow for six weeks- our time apart (he’s at uni and I’m at high school) used to bother me a lot, but now I’ve learnt to appreciate what we do have and enjoy the time we spend together, and it’s a much more relaxing frame of mind to be in. * Competitive hair modelling! My salon is dying my hair next month, dark with highlights (as they ALWAYS seem to do…), and it’s very exciting, as I’ve always loved the transformation of changing your hair colour. Better yet, my friend is modelling for another salon so that will be fun! (Hope I win!) * School’s out for two weeks tomorrow. Naturally, that gets a mention!

  12. Had to chime in this week because I’m sitting here at my desk with iPod on and loving Dave Mustaine. Actually I love him pretty much every week. It’s pretty awesome that he’s got ginger hair, knows loads of Elton John lyrics and embarassed himself totally on that Metallica documentary and yet is still a metal god.

I also am loving burlesque costuming ideas and am excited that I just bought a metric buttload of hotfix rhinestones off ebay.

Mostly I’m loving finally having taken the plunge at my advanced age to learn to operate a motor vehicle. Riding a motorbike turns out to be more fun than terrifying and makes my beloved very proud and happy, which is always a Good Time.

  13. 1) My newish bracelet, which is just a (now tarnished) copper bangle, and which I secretly suspect has magical powers.
    2) Cuddling in big pieces of fabric. I’m especially fond of shawl/wrap things right now.
    3) The prospect of iCiNG undies (do I remember correctly, or did I make it up that you mentioned them?)
    4) Raucous solo square dancing to classical Irish dulcimer music

    5. That I have learnt what is stopping me to write my novels that are all bundled in my head and not on paper yet thanks to Sark which I know of thanks to Gala!!

    6. Sara Beak – Reading only the extract of her book online has made me open up a little more and realise I had my own beliefs and trust in the universe all alon, I just hadn’t ackowledged it yet.

  19. After hearing about Sera Beak, I’ve actually ordered her book and am eagerly awaiting it. Secretely, I’m into different faiths and all, but none of my friends ever knew how much I was until I won the “Religion&Culture” award at my graduation. So, I can’t wait for the book!

This week, I’m happy for…: – A close friend, who hangs out with me almost everyday even though she lives an hour outside the city! She chases boredom away!

    - Clothes. I’m in the process of cleaning up my wardrobe, and taking the time to make some good daily outfit pictures for school in fall! :> Yay!

    - My Fashion Now 2 book from Taschen. It’s like, wikipedia for fashion in a compact form that can stay on your desk! It’s filled full of amazing pictures, and little blurbs on certain designers!

    - My new blog. It’s only the planning stage, but I’m seriously excited at the prospect of it. Can’t wait!

P.S. I recently read a theory that since human beings are made mostly out of water, and the moon controls the tides/water, the specific changes in the tide also affect humans. Not sure if it’s true, but it sure does sound really interesting!

  21. TiLT for this week..

Sunday – I had the most delicious weekend… Dinner on Saturday night with a dear friend and her new boyfriend who makes her the happiest I’ve ever seen her, then back to my lover’s place for a long, long Sunday morning in bed. Then we faced the day outside and I found a new handbag that suits me perfectly (for me this means a durable, utilitarian bag in black that I can wear across my body, and big enough for a book and a spare pair of knickers!), we enjoyed some yummy and healthy vegetarian Mexican for a late lunch, and then had one perfect beer in a weird Melbourne pub. My idea of heaven…

Body brushing – I’ve just got back into dry-skin body brushing before my morning shower over the last couple of weeks. It gives me a great ‘slapped with birch twigs in the snow’ sensation, and my skin feels super-smooth now.

Anticipation – I’m expecting lots of goodies in the mail over the next week or two. New jeans found on ebay (sass & bide! $35!), and a parcel from Amazon. Like half the people on iCING, I too have ordered Sera Beak’s book – she must be having a huge sales spike thanks to Gala!

A weekend alone – the lover is away interstate this weekend, so I get to have some ‘me-time.’ I intend to go into ‘Bliss 4 Women’ (recommended by Violet Blue!) in the city, and check out their girly-toys!

Music – this week I’m loving ‘Lullabye for Liquid Pig’ by Lisa Germano

  23. Ah! That bit about being alone is just about the best! I’m an only child, too, and really need to give myself time to be alone, or my internal battery just gets so run down! But it’s really hard to justify being quiet and alone with yourself when it seems like everyone around you is constantly moving and being loud and having fun. It’s great to know that such a well-adjusted lady as yourself has a similar need!

  31. ~ My boyfriend. I know, it’s cliche, but he is such an incredible presence in my life. He supports me and encourages me, and believes in everything I do no matter what. He’s such a blessing. :)

~ Havemercy by Jaida Jones and Danielle Bennett. I haven’t read a good book in ages, and finally, I found one! Steampunk, dragons, magicians, and balls. Nothing better.

~ My new apartment! It is sooo amazing. I just got a studio downtown, and it has big windows everywhere and it’s amazing. I love it so much!

~ Spending time alone in my apartment. I’ve never lived alone before and I’m loving it. Being able to do whatever I want, whenever I want, is so exciting.

~ World of Warcraft! I know, I know… but it’s so addictively fun. I’ve met so many awesome people in the game. It’s my entertainment of choice for the week. ^^

~ Shaved legs. Need I say more?

  33. Random road trips! For Canada day, my friends and I took a five hour tour of the small towns around our city, took silly pictures and ate ice cream. It was the best!

Being able to wear a dress, finally. It’s just turned nice enough out to warrant summer dresses and I couldn’t be happier.

Starbucks iced brewed coffee. I usually go for the iced lattes, but these are really refreshing for the summer, and not nearly as heavy. With a shot of caramel, they’re divine!

Antique toiletry bottles. I found a charming one not too long ago and I’ve been on a mad, frantic search for more ever since.

Making ice cream! I’ve made about 12 different kinds since the snow melted and I never get bored of it. Ice cream maker=best present EVER!

Sunrise in a plane. Flying to Christchurch, the most phenomenal brilliant bloodorange light. Stunning.

Hanging with my rellies – olds, aunties, uncles, cuzzies; I was spoilt to death.

Morris & co exhibition at the Christchurch Art Gallery.
    farm4.static.flickr.com/3028/2…
Breathtakingly beautiful tapestries, embroidery, carpets, furniture, printed books of Rosetti’s poems. It renewed my soul.

Mao’s Last Dancer by Li Cunxin – completely fabulous and uplifting.

Prince Caspian (the movie): I LOVED it! Whooo! I especially loved what they did with Susan, who gets a raw deal in the books. Awesome!

Cuisenaire rods: Those 1-10cm coloured maths thingies. My kids have a set and we are all have a great time sitting round in front of the fire making patterns.

    Electrical storms – exciting! (And also a reminder of my cousin-who-died . . . )

The fact that I’ve only got one day left at college and then I’m done! There are so many possibilities for me now and I have so many ideas, it’s exciting trying to pin down everything and planning it all. I think I’m going to take a leaf out of your book and make a big inspiration board out of the cork board that already sits on my desk.

  39. TiLT!
Lego Indiana Jones on Nintendo DS: I love this game so much! It makes me want to wear my fedora and learn to crack a whip!

Darwin: Oh, lovely sunshine and warm weather, how I miss you.

My very cute, ever so lovely new (and YOUNGER gasp) boyfriend: We’ve been friends for about 4 years, and I went to visit him in Darwin and we decided it would be right to get together because we’re like two peas in a pod.

Beating above-mentioned boyfriend at video games: He loves to rub it in, so when I use the most girly character imaginable to beat him, I gotta gloat!

My secret alter-ego blog: I love the fact that no one I know has seen my new blog, it’s something for me, not them.

Diablo Cody: I read her book ‘Candy Girl – A Year In The Life Of An Unlikely Stripper’ recently, the woman is insane, and awesome!

  41. I wasn’t a big fan of the winner of Australian Next Top Model either :/

    Anyhoot, my list this week:
Baking cupcakes: personally I think cupcakes are the ultimate dessert because they encompass cute and delicious all in the palm of your hand. Baking is so satisfying…Bake anything and let all that rage, sadness, love -whatever in that dough!

Sketching while listening to Allie Moss: perfect combo on a grey afternoon. Makes me feel still and my emotions get lost in the lines.

Spending time with the people who made your childhood: it’s been a long time since my little sister, cousin and I were together and we managed to do that on the weekend. When we were little, we used to sleep at each other’s houses all the time, talk on the phone every weekend for hours, make pinatas, catch butterflies, watch Cool Runnings a gazillion times and go shopping, etcetc. So comforting to be with the people you grew up with.

Meeting a blog buddy: It’s so nice to finally meet a friend you’ve known for years (over the net) in person! She came down from NZ and we went to the ”Game on” exhibition at ACMI (at fed square). She also gave me New Zealand Fudge as a gift! <3

Bumping into a highschool friend: love it when you randomly bump into a highschool friend that you haven’t seen since the end of highschool! They are older but still have the same goofiness and humour you remember

Getting a real positive evaluation from my boss plus a reduced teaching schedule next year!

Sun, park, friends and spontaneous get togethers

Packing for my big trip to Australia starting this Sunday and looking forward to meeting old friends there
(Thanks for your guide to Melbourne! I’ll certainly use it :-))

Going to the movies on my own (Paris by Cedric Klapisch, very recommendable, and the Annie Leibovitz documentary)

Realising that that colleague is really really cute and nice and all and damn why do the holidays start now :-))

Little down point: the Sara Beak book did not arrive yet so I won’t be able to take it along on the trip.

But overall: “I said: Hey! My life is ok!” (Zita Swoon, the banana queen, youtube.com/watch?v=W3vpdnsozD…)

  51. • Warm winter days when you can wear a t-shirt instead of a jacket on your morning walk on the beach
    • Morning walks on the beach with friends
    • Lying in bed and listening to the rain thunder down on the roof
    • Strawberries- especially sweet and flavoursome ones that you can rarely find during winter
    • Real Monte Carlo biscuits- Absolutely delicious and indulgent
    • Customers who take the time to ask how you are- It’s rare for this to happen and when you work long hours in retail and have to focus on the customer the whole time it is nice when some actually appreciate your work and tell you that they do…I don’t like being treated like a dumb check-out chick when this job is only there for me to put myself through university.. I am not dumb! (grrr…frustration? Never!?)
    • Looking forward to the weekend- Saturday is going to be a long and busy day at work, but it is the last day of my working week and I am going out with my dear friend who came home from university yesterday and we are going to party hard! I can’t wait, it has been too long between dances!
    • Swimming- I love the peacefulness of it once you have got your pace down pat.
    • Alone time- I also enjoy this and need it on a daily basis- I need time to gather my thoughts and clear my head- after a long shift in retail, you need some quiet time
    • Driving at night with my music really loud- I love it and it makes me realise how much I enjoy music
    • Aussie Hip-Hop- I was looking forward to seeing my friends support TZU this weekend but have had to change this, but I love the rawness and honesty of Aussie hip-hop. I also love good US hip-hop like Jay-Z and Kanye.

    * My daily dose of iCing!- I look forward to it everyday and relish reading Gala’s beautiful words!!! hugs

Surprise Visits from a friend from melbourne. It’s a bit sad because he’s coming over to visit his sick mum, but I get to help him out by giving him a place to crash and the loan of my car while I’m at work and it will be sooooo good to see him.

New semester I can’t wait to get paid so i can go stationery shopping. This is my first ‘real’ external unit and I’m determined to be super organised and colour coded in pretty colours.

*~ My little sister (and only sibling who’s 20 years my junior) having her first birthday on Monday. Only a year ago I was there watching her being born and it’s just amazing that she’s going to be one! She brightens up my day every time I see her!

  62. Copied from my blog

Creative Idleness: I am rereading Brenda Ueland’s book “If You Want To Write”. I originally had to read it for a creative writing class last year and I fell in love with Brenda Ueland! Her insights on the creative fountain—which at times might seem a little “fluffy”, are also very refreshing and inspiring approaches to writing and the creation of art in general! One of the things that she encourages is the act of “Creative Idleness”. Creative Idleness is living in the moment without worrying about whatever it is that you have to get done that day, what bad things happened yesterday, and where you’re going to be in the next five years. It is an act of daydreaming—the way a child would daydream—carelessly walking around whistling, or doodling, or playing make believe with dolls—and Brenda claims that it is from this idleness, that inspiration comes. I agree with her. I found that in order to create, my mind cannot be focused at all. Meditation does not help, yoga does not help—walking around aimlessly with my ipod, or riding on the bus for an hour—that is where I get my best ideas!

Living Red: Because of the suggestion of none other than Gala Darling, I have discovered Sera Beak, a Spiritual Cowgirl who has taken all the world’s religions and have tossed them together to create her own REDvolution revolving around spirituality. Her book The Red Book, arrived on my Recycling Box yesterday and I have been obsessing over it ever since. She encourages women to be spiritual, without having to conform to one set religion. Instead, her redvolution revolves around creating a spiritual practice that is right for you by doing intense research on all the world religions and their characters, deities, and legends. I’m only on page 46 so unfortunatly, I can’t really describe more. I just know that this book and this insight is exactly what I need after having given up Wicca. After I made that choice I have been feeling a little lost and aimless, with nothing strong and powerful to believe in. Being Wiccan depressed me because I felt as if I was just following a trend and once again—being spiritual in a way that I was told to be spiritual. I hope Sera Beak’s insight will help me chart my down a new path to non-organized enlightenment. In the meantime, I highly recommend everyone to check out her blog. I especially enjoy this and this.

I’d write more today, but I don’t think that’s really necessary, because those are the two things that are ringing strong in my life right now and making me feel happier than I have in a long time. I went to bed last night beaming with joy and woke up this morning and bounded out of bed, opened my arms, and welcomed the day! I have a Statistics Exam today, and though I know I won’t do great on it because so much material has been pushed onto me in the past week that I can’t comprehend it all—I know that if I am determined and focused enough I will do alright. Everyone I work with right now are depressed and stressed out, and that has a profound effect on my attitude when I go to work, but I have the power to change that! If I go to work beaming and smiling, then maybe that will rub off on everyone else and will lighten the mood a bit!

  65. I love…

Long midnight phone conversations. I love them even though they seriously eat into my sleep, and are usually more silly than romantic. Who needs sleep when you have so much love?

Preparing to make a big leap into the real world. I’m so excited about leaving home. Since last TiLT, I’ve secured my very own apartment! Now all I need to do is go to IKEA! :D

Cutting my own hair. I love that I’ve becoming better at doing my own hair than my previous hair dressers! I plan on switching from red hair to pink in the near future.

Working with kids. These past 6 weeks of volunteering have been tough, but I do enjoy interacting with all of those young’uns.

Olives I eat a cup of black olives everyday. I can’t stop! It’s such a strange addiction.

Fruit I’ve been eating gala apples and oranges for breakfast for the past week. They’re so yummy!

iCiNG I’ve been spreading the love as much as I can. :D

My new green-with-white-polka-dots dress. I want to wear it everyday. It’s so PRETTY!!!!

My new face scrub I’ve been using this generic brand scrub because I ran out of my name brand stuff… and I actually like this better!

My internship is pretty damn awesome. I actually enjoy my work!
Weekend plans for fireworks and such with school friends. Gala, have you ever been in the US for July 4th? I live right outside of Washington, DC, so the 4th is a HUGE deal here. Nation’s capital and all that jazz. Make sure you make it to some kind of celebration tomorrow, and go watch some fireworks!
Working out more regularly this week than I have been, even if I did oversleep a little today and miss my morning run. I’ll go in the evening instead.
Planning shopping trips for a new summer dress. I’ve decided to treat myself to something new before this July 4th party I’m going to, so I’ll either go shopping today after work or tomorrow and find myself something new and cute. I’m thinking floral?

    I also love:

+ good workouts that I feel proud of,

+ Loren Eiseley’s essays (his writing style is so relaxing and comforting),

+ dreaming of learning to play mandolin,

+ Jesse Sykes & The Sweet Hereafter – I saw them play live twice last week and it was nearly lifechanging. SO EXCITING to know that music that good is being made!

+ checking out the town I’ll be moving to in September (Bellingham, Washington) and liking it a lot better than the first time I visited; learning there is a tavern with live old time string music there (and so I am dreaming of learning to play mandolin…),

+ checking out links in pretty blogs & finding more pretty blogs,

+ my roommate saying that we have to “christen” the new free entertainment shelving by watching The Big Lebowski – he’s so funny! as if a free piece of furniture is so sacred! gotta love him for that.

  70. Alright, I have yet to participate in TilT, but I’m going to do it!

The Red Book- I don’t think I need to explain that.

Chocolate Chip Muffins- I know, not the healthiest breakfast, but they make me so happy that I can write it off as good for my soul.

Whose Wedding Is It Anyway?- I have become so addicted to this show because my sister is getting married next summer, and as the maid of honor it is my job to know everything about other people’s weddings. Or something.

The Blue Heron Music Festival- It’s a big hippie fest, basically, out in the middle of the woods over the Fourth of July weekend, and I haven’t been in years but I get to go again this weekend! Yay! Port-A-Potties and hemp necklaces ahoy!

My new super-short haircut- It just happened a week ago but it is so much easier to wash and style.

Driving- Surprising that this is new for me at, well, over 16, but I was terrified to drive until recently when I realized I had to get over it and I have and now I love it!

Knowing beyond a shadow of a doubt, that those closest to you are only a phone call away if you need help… Reliability in general is all too rare and it’s wonderful to know those who love you are really THERE for you..

My backyard.. the garden has fizzled out, but I’m starting some new sprouts.. and with the rain the timber bamboo is getting very tall just like i’d hoped.. it’s very peaceful back there and I love spending time in it..

Friends and July 4th parties and music.. can’t wait.. especially the 4th Annual installment of one where my brother’s band is playing.. drinking a frosty yummy microbrew, soaking in the pool, AND watching the band, all at the same time, can’t be beat. ;-)

Superhero movies.. been catching up on those lately… loving the new crop that is out.. but i think my favorite of all time is Batman Begins.. so well done.

Dubstep VINYL, and blessed with the resources to collect it.. ;-) now i just need to learn to be able to MIX it! lol..

Getting packages in the mail brings a whole new meaning to Xmas in July and Credit Card debt be damned. Making a dog a friend of mine decided to adopt a very happy pooch. Long walks and being more involved in the city/town I live in. Organic fruits and veggies. Reading the Red Book.

  81. my things i love thursday…

being able to fix things using just a needle and thread… it feels awesome, being able to fix/make something by yourself. i tend to get a weird attachment to the thing i fixed!

my dog harley… he’s a silly puppy, but a cute silly puppy! my family got him about 2 years ago and we love him to pieces.

my bedroom… i’ve started redecorating!! i used some ideas from a link you put on your carousel a couple weeks ago! it’s turning out awesome!

the sun… i live in northwestern ontario, canada, so it’s cloudy here a lot so the sun usually isn’t something we take for granted!

    watermelon! no explanation needed :)

supper last night… it was this really good thai style dish with noodles, cucumbers, lettuce, pork (i think) and this really spicy sauce..DELISHUS :D

  83. I love it (as a driver) when pedestrians thank you for stopping at a zebra crossing. I could drive right over it and not let them cross the road if I wanted. It’s only polite! I always say thank you.

I also like it when other drivers thank you for letting them cut in or when you let them pass first on a narrow road.

  84. okay..let’s see.

-my lime green room. lime green has always been my colour. when i add it to my outfits, or simply have something in my possesion that is lime green…well, i feel amazing! i don’t know why. -but i recently changed up the walls in my room. i went from bland eggshell to lime green. i feel like all of my little girl energy exploded. it’s fantastic. it makes me want to create and explore.

-my dog. recently, she’s been really sick. she’s about 13-14 years old. she’s a total doll. i love her to bits. she’s been channeling her inner puppy in the last week or so. i’m hoping that this might be a sign that she is getting better, trying to get better, or just realizing that she needs to live as much as she can. i love her no matter what.

-eft. i feel like this might make me sound like a total suck-up, but i don’t care. recently i’ve been working on improving myself. i’ve been tapping out issues and i’ve been seeing nothing but positive results. thanks for the tips, gala!

i think that’s about it…i mean, i’m really loving pomagranate juice, ice pops, and energy drinks…but still.

  85. I am having a FANTASTIC week!

    1. Boys. I love boys this week. I went on a date last night, and it was absolutely perfect! The next time we see each other, we are going to talk about Bob Dylan and (hopefully) cuddle.

    2. My new swimsuit. I bought the sauciest one piece swimsuit at Old Navy and it fits like a dream! I’ve been continuing the Vegan lifestyle after the one month challenge, and my body is thanking me for it. I’ve never felt so good in my life!

    3. David Bowie. I watched the Labyrinth in the first time in YEARS. I am in love with that movie.

    4. Blueberries. My food of choice. Unfortunately, I finished off my last container of them, so I have to buy more.

  86. My list ov the week:

It being over! The work week, that is.
Movies in an old Hollywood theatre with yummy margaritas to boot!
4th of July I used to hate celebrating it. I thought it was cheesy and awful and I didn’t much like my country of the US of A. I’ve since traveled more, and although I disagree with my government a lot, I love living here for now, and I love having a whole day to shoot fireworks, write with sparklers and eat rocket pops (the best kind of popsicle).
Burlesque I’m taking the performance class now (scary!) so in a few months I’ll be taking my clothes off in front of strangers. It’s really getting me pumped to work out and be super healthy and confident for the time being.

-the fact that I’m leaving for 5 days to a beach with several friends! (yes even though I live on a beach)
    -I’m leaving for college soon!!!!!!!!
As you said, trusting in the universe as seeing it trust back on me. Last week I was trusting that something was going to be ok, and I really wanted it to be ok, and in the end it all was ok.

-And what I love most this week is the huge compilation of magazines I made in a binder…articles, pages, photo shoots advertisements and spreads from different ans several magazines. It’s like a gigantic magazine…but with everything I want it to have. It’s HUGE and it’ll keep growing!!!!

  89. My TiLT…

Perusing A/W fashion show pics at Vogue.com. The weather is terrrrible right now, and its a fab way to wile away rainy hours and stop myself buying more summer clothes I can’t actually wear!

Running! I can’t believe I am sticking to my workout schedule so well! I put it down to finally finding a sports bra that works. It’s a Shock Absorber one and man, it just immobilizes zee boobies.

lane tix to Milan are booked. Super excited even though it’s only a stopover of a couple of days.
