It’s Venus retrograde — forgive me for my sentimentality. (More on that later today!) But… Thinking about my American adventures thus far… Driving around Los Angeles; Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen; Nubby‘s new best friend & serial killer serenades in general; writing love letters to James St James with my pen from the Sahara hotel in Las Vegas; walking down the street with my wife; Sam; photobooths in San Francisco; In-N-Out burger; cuteness at SXSW; Angel in a swanboat; 24-hour diners in Austin; balloons; SNOW!; the body language of those two guys as they cross the street towards each other; Star!

Making friends with super creative people and starting exciting projects with them. That i’m seeing my mum and sister in 16 days, and that i’m seeing them in San Francisco. That they are bringing me flip-flops, in the same style i’ve worn and loved for four years. People who look out for me just because. I am so lucky and so grateful. Vegan superheroes. That as broke as we are, we still have everything we need. The exciting possibility of a secret project which i hope won’t have to be a secret much longer. Making seriously cute whale toys for birthday boy whale fans. That a friend I’m completely in awe of wrote an amazing character reference for me that was impossibly flattering. Synchronicity. Sliced apple with crunchy peanut butter for breakfast.
The things I’m most thankful for is: INSPIRATION & GOD (or whatever higher being you might believe in).
Because of both, I thought of a fantastic idea: a blog about preparing for Burning Man!

Good morning, gorgeous! Friday again here, BUT I haven’t left town for the weekend yet! For a change. (Off to Whangarei tomorrow morning.)
This week I love:
The way rock’n‘roll gives me the strength and energy to tackle things I hate (mainly cleaning the kitchen).
Being up early – you can get SO much done if you’re home from the gym at 10 past 7 in the morning.
Watching ‘Wayne’s World’ with my kids – it’s still excellent.
‘In These Arms’ – possibly my favourite song ever (certainly one that has stood the test of time).
Hoop earrings.
Bubble and squeak. I made my first batch (potato, onion, cabbage and bacon) and it was Off The Hook – yum!

> Moleskine. I managed to get a Moleskine diary for the amazing bargain price of £2.99 and it’s helping me so so much with being better organised. I’m terribly scatterbrained and it’s CHANGING MY LIFE just to write plans down on paper.
> The summer. I finish uni for the year on the 1st of May and making plans for the 4 months I have until my third year begins is SO exciting :D I’m going to finally take my driving test, finish decorating my room, start playing the guitar again after a 4 year hiatus, pimp my photography out EVERYWHERE and add a blog to my website and learn how to edit it.
-Having my friend buy us ice cream and eating almost a whole pint at her house.
-standing awkwardly on the tree/fence thingy outside Katie’s old school.

today not only was the weather was finally above 60 degrees but it was also sunny!

- Flowy sheer blouses with camisoles underneath. Makes me feel ultra-feminine. Pairing one with my new studded belt makes me even happier.
- Tora, guitarist of the Japanese rock band, Alice Nine. He is absolutely delicious. If I weren’t spoken for…if only…hahaha
- Laughing for no reason whatsoever.
- Marathon video game sessions. Doesn’t hurt that my boy is also a gamer.
- Verb Noire. A publisher of stories by and about people of color. Something you don’t see very often in sci-fi.
- Miso soup. I could live off of miso soup. Seriously.
- Feeling like I’m 16 again. I don’t miss being 16, just feeling like the world is full of possibility and good people.
- Reading everyone else’s TILT.
- The term “Gothninja” as used on the fashion blog Stylec**t and while I’m at it, that blog itself.

I think a lot of people might get a kick out of my accent though – last time I spoke to an American on the ‘phone she told me I speak like Hermione Grainger, then giggled.

I got a little antsy yesterday waiting for tilt to go up(I was at work, and I was BORED), so I already posted mine on twitter…and it’s Friday here now, but whatever. :)

What I love this week is the fact that I was finally able to make some headway with my brother in our e-mail debate about gay marriage by getting him to acknowledge that there is a difference between what the Church should allow and what Government should allow. I was very proud of myself! :)

A new lease on life; being deliriously happy for days on end; laughing; smiling; spending time with family; Saturn trine Mercury; being aware of myself & my situation; having some kickass, awesome people in my corner; sunny days that remind me of summer; being within walking distance of a library(!!); driving with the sunroof open & the windows down; upbeat, danceable music; feeling like I can breath for the first time in years; purging & organizing; simplifying my life into a few boxes; feeling blessed; coming home to a house where I feel warm & cozy & safe.
