Entourage, I love it forever, & Ari Gold is one of my favourite characters of all time cupcakes from Sugar Sweet Sunshine at all times! Hank — he gets a mention every week, I know, but I love him & I like to call him Hankenstein, & also he has miniature Chuck Taylors which cutes me out like whoah smiles from Betsey Johnson on the street! getting rained on but not minding! really good Thai food holding hands with my favourite person (oh gosh)
seeing my first ever firefly, oh my god, amazing, glowing butt!!! I have never seen anything of the sort! huge feathered headdresses (just you wait) The Dish & my mother talking on the phone (they are both Aries & instantly bonded, mad cute) impromptu drinks with Molly Crabapple tiny braids which make me into a modern Pocahontas my new Liza Minelli hat shopping all weekend cuteness ahoy at all times
watching Grease & eating hot dogs thinking how much better Grease would be as a vampire musical really fun exciting job offers meeting The Dish for lunch & thinking about how extremely fineeee he is 3-hour long mani/pedis Death Cab’s Narrow Stairs emails from strangers which say exactly what I need to hear making lots of plans writing almost-fiction planning to write all weekend & being nerdily excited about it amazing things in the mail!

There was a firefly in my house the other day! It looked like a really gross beetle on my seeing (wasn’t flashing) so I made my boyfriend shoo it out of the house. When he goes to do so he realized it was a firefly and it glowed in his hand and was so neat!
You have never seen a firefly before!? I can catch them at my home! (watch, if you do catch them, they die quickly!) Do you know why they glow? (It’s because the males are showing off for a mate!!!) It’s exciting to read that you saw your first firefly!
Oohh, let’s see!
-I touched up my hair last night and finally got it to be bright magenta/raspberry instead of hot pink, which seems like a small difference but it’s a big one to me!
-Matt, he’s so sweet!!
-having long conversations via Twitter, which I think misses the point of the 140 character rule but I like it anyways!
-silly drunk voicemails from my friend
-having good luck! it seems like things are finally falling into place as far as freelancing goes!
-using vintage slips as loungewear. SO COMFY. and I feel like much less of a layabout floating around in a pink lacy thing than in a t-shirt and sweatpants!
-I’m trying EFT and I actually like it, the skeptic in me hates to admit!
-watching my kitties be silly, it makes me giggle!
-oh and apparently we have an albino leopard gecko that likes to hang out on our window at night. I think we should name him.
-yoga (especially tara stiles online videos for when i am in a rush) and my new mat & strap.
-driving on the freeway
-my nails growing themselves out to epic lengths without chipping!
-kisses when i wake up, when the boy gets home from work, and before bed. it’s a nice ‘lil routine.
-learning to play pool properly (teaching myself to slow down and take my time to make a good shot).
-Victoria’s secret semi-annual sale. i got a Betsy Johnson bra with little pink bows on the straps!
-the ducks that live in the pond right outside the patio of our apartment. there must be at least fifty of them and there are some really cute goslings!
-hip tranquil chick podcasts (although i really want to start buying your podcasts i just don’t have the $$, these tide me over).
-Arrested Development. why am i always so behind on wonderful tv shows? this show is brilliant. and sparked a major crush on will arnett.
-feeling liberated instead of mandated.
-having a dishwasher. you have no idea.

I never thought about there not being fireflies elsewhere…do they not have them down in NZ? That is sad! Fireflies = summer ;D
That reminds me, I was walking home from work the other night around 9pm and I have to walk past this little area of wetlands/woods off the side of the road…and I looked over as it started getting dark and there were soooo many fireflies. It looked like hundreds of tiny little camera flashbulbs going off and it was amazing…I had never seen that many before! Must be a good year for fireflies

- Spending my time between New York and a friend’s house in the Husdon River valley for a while before I have to go back to France. It is so beautiful here ! And only less than an hour train ride away from the city :]
- Most of all donating my hair to Pantene Beautiful Lengths to make wigs for women with cancer. I have been growing it the past two years just for donation and will be finally cutting it in an hour ! It will be my third time and I’m sure will not be the last.
All those mentions of The Dish… sounds like you have yourself a bit of a fairytale romance type situatuion brewing!

This week I love:
-Having money in my bank account. My last college scholarship check came in and so did my deposit on my old apartment.
-Being excited about starting my “big girl” job in a few days.
-Knowing that I get to see my brothers in a day!
-Having my sister back from Paris!!!
-That my family is going fishing tomorrow. We haven’t gone fishing since I was in the 7th grade about 9 years ago.
-Possible drive-in movie with my best friends, also tomorrow.
-A splendid date with the boy on Saturday, followed by a clubby birthday, followed by a show that he booked
-My new haircut!
-the fact that my boyfriend will be meeting my dad and my siblings on Saturday (cross your fingers that it goes well, thanks!)
-Breaking my shopping ban for a pair of fabulous white jeans. :D

It’s funny you mentioned a vampire musical. My musical theatre class wrote and composed a twilight musical last year. It took a while but was worth all the time and effort. We even performed it at a local theatre.
Oh and isn’t Death Cab the greatest!

Yeah, I was with someone who saw their first firefly once. In the Midwest we have them everywhere, every summer. They hang thick in the air. As children we would catch them in jars and leave them in our bedrooms overnight at sleepovers.
It fact it feels like there are many fewer since I was a child. They are also called Lightening Bugs.

Weeellll….these past few days have been pretty nerve wrecking. I came to Austin to visit my brother, get out of the house and have somewhat of a summer vacation, but I have not been able to do a thing! I have been doing homework from 8-midnight for the past 3 DAYS with breaks to exercise and nothing else. It is funny because one of the presentations I am now trying to submit online was over how to make a hula hoop, and well, I have done no hooping lately! The nights are seeming quite lonely to me as well…sigh but on another note…
-I am glad to be alive
-reading this post has reawaken my heart
-today is the last day of class but if I fail, at least I tried. (summer classes are always a bother)
-my brother being off tonight which will allow me to finally get to hang out with him!

This week I grinning like a fool and thrilled to bits over my big Zumba class on Tuesday night; I was in the local paper last week and this week my class was JAMMED! It was like a flippin’ nightclub! People cheered and clapped after every song! It was AMAZING!!!
I also love:
Listening to the radio while I’m driving around in my car – everything from Flava to EasyMix, haha.
The final of Scrubs on Wednesday night. It was a complete sook-fest and I cried a bath. Beautiful.
My ipod. I thrash this baby. I use it for work (ballet/jazz/zumba), and at night I hop in bed and watch an episode of Due South on it.

I love that my dog is almost potty-trained. Also, it’s really cute when she slides on the floor and runs straight into the wall.
I also love listening to the Hello, Dolly! soundtrack and making white chocolate cupcakes with cream cheese frosting and a strawberry on top.
I love reading my Facebook in French and dreaming about going to France.

My Newest Love Interest- I spend a few nights a week with him and this morning, he woke me up with kisses, which is about the best way to wake up.
Cat Naps in the middle of the day- Which is basically how I spend most days during the summer. The heat makes me sleepy so I keep vampire hours.
Eating breakfast in a restaurant by yourself and not feeling like you’re doing anything strange
Doing tarot card reading focused on love and giggling over the results
I can’t remember what it was, but I found something absolutely hilarious when I was walking home today, and burst out laughing. I was all by myself. Also, I like that in the summer, I can watch the bats flying around in front of my window at night.

- My most wonderful fabulous delightful boyfriend. We’ve stayed up almost every night this week emailing each other and imagining the most insane downfalls of the world (i.e. everyone being eaten by super intelligent talking man-eating goats) and how we’re going to prevent them and realizing that we’ve been intensely attracted to each other since February and lamenting the fact that neither of us had the nerve to act sooner and being overjoyed by the fact that we are finally together.
- First dates that involve staying out until midnight, walking around the outside of the mall.
- “The Trouble with Tribbles” episode of Star Trek being availible on Youtube.
- Drawing again and discovering I haven’t lost all of my skills.
- Writing in my Moleskine with a fabulous purple pen. TiLT and shopping lists have found their way in. I am most definitely loving it.
- Giant cups of ice water with mint leaves.
- The movie Up. It is riculously good. I highly recommend it.
- Strawberry fruit bar popsicles.
- Having blue hair again, even if only my bangs. I fully plan on colour stripping, bleaching, and dying my whole head witin the next week.
- Cold baths.
- Being so happy that I keep falling over and purring.
Carrots.
Noticing subtle improvements in my appearance.
Finishing assignments early and then having a couple of hours in which to do what I want.
Finding jeans that fit they way they should. And the fact that those jeans were two sizes smaller than the size I thought I was for years.
Realizing that I want to change my life and then doing it.
My hair (still). Seeing all the multicoloredness always makes me feel better.
The fact that I got 3 to 4 hours of sleep last night, have a painfully sore throat, had to eat bread that was going bad for breakfast, had an 8 a.m. quiz for class… and was still somehow in a good mood.
Professors who play music videos in class. Though, it is a music class. But still. It’s cool!
Experimentation with cooking things that you find out are healthy for you.
[This will probably sound weird, but] The fact that there is an entire community on Flickr devoted to Doc Martens and Doc Marten love. It gives me the warm fuzzies that so many people love these shoes and have had their own individual adventures with their Docs.
Colorful sneakers. I’ve been completely out of the clothing loop for the last couple of years, and yesterday I walked into Journeys looking for shoelaces and saw a billion different assortments of awesome colorful sneakers, from beautiful ice cream shades to holographic and space age-like designs. Not to mention the choice of laces you have these days. Not bad, shoe industry. Not bad.

- i’m loving the infinite summer / my second attempt at reading infinite jest. i’m only on page 52, i’m taking it in baby steps, but it’s so so amazing so far and i want to make it. i love pretty much everything i’ve read by DFW.
- christopher marlowe and his family. i’ve just started reading a biography of him and it is AWESOME.
- hugging my boyfriend/curling up with him/yeah. lame inclusion but it’s true. i see him on tuesday :). just generally being with him really.
- the poetry (especially the sonnets) of edna st. vincent millay. i thought that doing a year of an english degree might burn me out for reading… but it’s only 4 days since term ended and i’ve read one book, have started a biography & am reading all the love poems i can. reading never dies.
- my children – my husband – my friends – caring individuals that selflessly donate their time, energy and emotions to treasure little treasures whose lives may not make the news but deserved to be celebrated too (www.heartfelt.org.au)

Okay I am acting 13 and I’m 31.
I am so tired, I feel like I have written this before. Oh well, it’s awesome enough to repeat.
♥ My new manager at work. She helps out with cleaning, she bought us cake, and she was goofing off with all of us (which is amazing since shes older).
♥ My puppy, Molly. She was put down over a week ago at 16.5 years old. She had many problems (arthritis, kidney problems, deaf, etc.) and it was for the best. She left me with many happy memories, for which I will always treasure.
♥ Hello Kitty! She is so cute and awesome. Who doesn’t love something that is cute, pink, and makes you smile?
♥ Leaving for my cruise in a few days. Bahamas Ahoy!

(JOY, BLISS, GOOD THINGS!); daydreaming about the future; facing bad, bad memories & healing; every phone conversation with my darling no matter how short or insignificant; the way he makes me feel; the way he looks at me; the startling, icy blue of his eyes; his hugs, his kisses, his love bites; knowing that everything is going to be alright in the end; building confidence in myself and my talents; being able to feel again after years of being numb.

-house hunting, even though it’s exhausting and can be upsetting (when the house we put an offer on suddenly gets taken off the market) I can’t wait to go tomorrow!

Omigosh! You’ve never seen a firefly before recently? Most of my childhood nights were spent catching them and smearing them on my slide in my backyard with my sister to make it glow. Horrible but true. I treat them much more kindly now.

+ mewithoutyou in concert. the experience was incredible.
+ tarot+palm reading with two of my favorite lady friends at a renaissance fair. the clairvoyant told me that I will one day have a story that desperately needs to be told to the world, and she was adamant that I have to start writing again. that was good to hear.
+ excitement for moving for school in the fall.
+ grizzly bear, department of eagles, cat power, portugal the man. jus sayin.
+ that one young man I’ve been spending time with, with whom I connect on every level and have endless desire for. there really is nothing better than that.
