Treasure Hunting At T.J. Maxx!

Gold & pink glitter Betsey Johnson heels!

I headed back to T.J. Maxx on Tuesday, to search for some items to spice up a holiday outfit! It’s Christmas on Sunday — I can barely believe it! — & then New Year’s Eve the following Saturday. I think New Year’s Eve is even more exciting to me than Christmas. Like Molly Crabapple said on Twitter this morning, “New Years is the official holiday for type-A workaholics, and as such is the only one I really celebrate.”

I couldn’t agree more! I am always delighted over the prospect of a brand new year.

It still freaks me out (slightly) that it’s usually snowing here on the night of the 31st, but once you make your way to your destination, you’re always happy to peel off your heavy coat & let whatever you have on underneath shine! No matter what you end up doing on the 31st, whether it’s a huge party or an intimate dinner with your lover, it’s the perfect occasion to add a little splash of something special to your look!

I was actually amazed by what I found on the floor at T.J. Maxx’s 6th Avenue location! An amazing black & white animal print Dolce & Gabbana handbag (totally tempted to get that for myself!), adorable pointy-toed Miu Miu heels (sadly, too small for my size 8 feet!), a row of Betsey Johnson‘s Victorian-esque booties, & a sparkly green & gold a-line Armani skirt were just a few of the treasures I was able to find! I think all of those things would make a fabulous addition to my wardrobe… & yours too!

I took some snaps of their price-tags, too. The Armani skirt was $399 down from $1000, the Dolce & Gabbana handbag was $699 down from $1095, the Betsey Johnson sparkly heels (from the top photo!) were $49 instead of $129 & the Victorian booties were $39! The Miu Miu heels were $299 (but there was no original price-tag). Okay, true, a $400 skirt is definitely a splurge, but it’s still 60% off the original price! If you’re going to buy designer, why pay an extra $600 when you don’t have to?!

Of course, this little excursion had me thinking furiously about what I might wear to celebrate the last night of 2011, & the dawn of 2012! Do you know what you’re going to wear yet? I’m voting for a bit of sparkle… No big surprise there!

Thanks to T.J. Maxx for sponsoring this post!
