Un Petit Hair Update

[ 21 February 2008 ]

I just went to Wildilocks for a few more extensions (to replace the two that came out) & a trim. Voilà!

Trim!

I like it so much! I feel much more groomed — & now that I don’t have so much weight on the ends, there is major volume. Hooray! Now I feel totally ready for fashion week.

In other news, Audrey was recently the unfortunate recipient of a botched colouring job in a strange salon in Adelaide! He is going in to Wildilocks tomorrow for a fix-up, & I’m trotting along to document the process! We’ll have all the details on Tuesday…

  4. i need a cut, colour and style… but i’m not sure my new boss would be so keen on a wildilocks style… i think i could go blue/purple once i’ve gotten settled in the job/company though!! bounce

  6. Charm — Wildilocks do lots of “normal” (hee) haircuts & colours too! Audrey is getting something very sedate — he works in a corporate job. When I was in there today there was a chick with brown hair just getting a cut. It’s not all radioactive green dreadlocks & nuttiness! ;D & they are my first & last recommendation, I’ve never been anywhere in Melbourne that’s as good!

Came to comment & ask the same question as charm..I’m very nervous about anyone touching my hair since its really quite difficult to deal with (very thick, very black,very curly, dry& long) and seems to cause a bit of hairdresser angst. This means I’ve been living quite un-groomed hair situations for most of my life…(I dont look like a hobo or anything but just not..well..groomed)
    But have decided to overhaul & polish myself up so will be taking you up on your recommendation gala!

  10. Charm – It’s true, I admit to thinking I wouldn’t be a ‘suitable’ client (well not yet, I’m trying to get my sharp edge back again… ha!) but they’re super nice people who are taking super good care of me. I love them to pieces already.

  16. Oh no! I hate botched hair jobs! I live in Badelaide (hee)and I still haven’t really found a salon there that does anything for me. I wish I could get away with blue or green or pink hair. Tres cool. Though, it was you Gala who inspired me to hack off my long locks about six months ago, and I love the way my pixi cut is growing out. Change is good! xx

    That salon is awesome though! I go there and its fantasticooo..

    Though I haven’t had a color there ever, the womans cutting skills are amazing and she is a very friendly person.

    Your hair looks great! I’ve been the victim of bad hairdressing too :( My hair isn’t too bad at the moment – I got inspiration from you to dye it again after being nervous it wouldn’t turn out right – and it didn’t but I went to a salon and got highlights and toning put in to even it out so yay. However the hairdresser I had wasn’t very friendly, and I was kept waiting for an hour (during my appointment) while they did other people’s hair – they seemed to be doing two appointments at once all the time :s the hairdresser didn’t listen to what I wanted either, so I have these blonde chunks in my hair, which I don’t hate now, but was pretty angry about at the time because I specifically said I didn’t want any blonde. Some of my friends couldn’t understand why I was so annoyed, but you go to the hairdresser to feel glamourous and pampered, am I right, fellow nonpareils? And I came out feeling pretty crappy and not at all a valued customer. Never mind, going to get my hair touched up again soon by a fabulous hairdresser friend of mine. I forgot how much work red hair is!

    Enough ranting… I made lemon cupcakes this week and next week’s batch shall be chocolate & chilli – the tastebuds in my house cry “VIVA LA GALA!”

    Hey guess what…..tonight i got my first ever manicure from the nails inc salon at Topshop on Oxford street and the colour i chose was totally inspired by you and your hair!

    I now have really amazing nails in a wonderful shade of deep blue called ‘Kabaret’.....i can’t stop looking at my nice shiny nails _

    Oh and FYI.....the girl who did my nails told me white was the next big thing,apparently Channel has been doing it and so it will filter down onto the fingers of the world!
