I know sales can be awful, especially the first day. Throngs of women, sweating & pushing & vomiting on one another in a furious race to the choice markdowns. But sometimes it can be worth it. Oh yes it can.
Why, you ask? Valid question! Here is why.

My boyfriend’s little sister is staying with us & she bought a pair too! The mind boggles! Hers are pink & red sequins, they are amazing.
Oh man… am I ever jealous!? Sadly, where I live at the moment, we have no shops that sell such items – I do, however, enjoy tax-free living, which is probably a bonus in the long-run but is not very productive in the Manolo stakes ;)
My slightly geeky self would totally keep the box as well, just to prove a point to people who came to visit :)

Oh, believe me, I’m keeping the box! There’s a shoebag included but the box is more useful to me. I’m running out of wardrobe space so I wish I had boxes for all my shoes, that way I could stack ‘em up. I’ve learned my lesson — keep the boxes! (Plus, the box is great. & the tissue paper inside has ‘Manolo Blahnik’ printed on it!)
1. They are just beautiful. So classic and elegant.
2. We have the same shoe size.
3. I love that you celebrate the fact that they were on sale. They may be intense shoes but I could never justify $1300 for them!
Ahh, merci beaucoup! Yes, I think they’re perfect — classic but interesting. I actually think I might be a 37.5 in Blahniks, but they didn’t have any! These fit me pretty well though with a heel grip in the back & a ‘party feet’ gel insert in the bottom! & I could easily justify spending $1300 on shoes, just not these ones. They’d have to be pretty goddamn super-fantastic (as the Manolo says) for me to want to spend more than a grand on them!

It is majorly hot when a woman is wearing a pair of exquisite shoes and beautiful lingerie… same goes for when women wear heels and swimwear – highly impractical of course but the aesthetic is one to behold and leads to my ultimate plan for all of the world’s top public and private beaches to have runways so the bold and the beautiful can just god damn strut!

I agree!!! Sod painting the town red… we’ll paint it purple with shades of lilac and mauve and generally regard wherever we’re at as the most marvellous playground!!! If you come to London, I HAVE to take you to high tea at the Russian Tea rooms and I’m sure they’ll allow cupcakes to be brought into the premisis.

SHUCKS i’m TERRIBLY jealous. i’m single and living it up, but suddenly having a boyfriend who might buy me shoes seems like a pretty good idea. haha. I think a properly organized closet space allows you to have more fun with what you have (because you can see it all so much clearer—)

Gah I love how they’re so simple but also look like you could do a major sex-stomp all over the town in them. Wear them to that burlesque club that sounds so fantastic…but your boyfriend would probably have to bring along some blinders for everyone else in the room, ahaha ;)

Congrats!!! Those shoes are beautiful and will go with EVERYTHING! Are Blahniks seriously as comfortable as they say? If you truly can walk for hours in those shoes, then they are so worth the money, even before sales price!
I want to know if they’re comfy too! I love designer shoes, but I always wonder what makes one pair of strappy heels more comfy than another.

Lulu & jen — They’re not amazingly comfortable but I think that’s just because I’m still breaking them in. Every time I wear them they get better, which is a godsend for me (I always have sore feet & have real trouble with shoes). I’m crossing my fingers that they will be super-comfortable soon, & I think they will be!

I went to the Carlson sale on Ponsonby Rd on Saturday. It was great! I made everyone at the Mid-Winter Xmas party last night look at the label sewn into my waistband. (I really have no sophistication at all. That, and a really low excitement threshold.)

i talked to a decent amount of people about paying 500 bucks for basic, black (but amazing quality) heels such as these (which i totally would) and NO ONE agreed with me and better yet, i almost felt like people thought i was dumb for ever thinking about paying 500 dollars for shoes. luckily, my boyfriend was the only one not outraged but that’s why he’s my boyfriend — he knows me well.
i love your heels and i’m insanely jealous (i’ve been dying for a pair of black heels because the ones i have now are atrocious and i always need them for choir-related events) congrats on buying them =)
