Win A Bunnyhead Ring From Alegorie!

[ 7 January 2010 ]

Win this Bunnyhead ring!

Bonjour, bonjour!

I am back from my holiday feeling rested, rejuvenated & ready to go! So it is with utmost delight that I announce the very first giveaway of 2010 — a silver bunnyhead ring from Alegorie!

It’s made by Proverb, which is a New Zealand-based (represent!) accessories brand. It’s about 7 1/4” in size, & not adjustable, but should fit at least one finger on most women’s hands! This one is plated in white silver but you can pick a gold plated finish if you prefer! Isn’t it beautiful?! I wear mine almost every day!

Win this Bunnyhead ring!

Rabbits are considered extremely lucky, even sacred. Long ago, people believed that spirits inhabited the bodies of animals. The ancient European Celts thought that rabbits particularly were inhabited by numina & underground spirits. (This is called animism & is really fascinating!)

Rabbits can be thought of as tricksters, symbols of innocence & youth, sexuality (hello, Playboy!), health, abundance & prosperity, rebirth (hello, Easter!), parties & indulgence (hello, Ometotchtli!), blessed luck & even good weather! A bunnyhead ring is the perfect thing to get you through two-thousand-&-amen!

One lucky nonpareil will WIN her very own bunnyhead ring! How do you get in on the fun?

Leave a comment below telling us what you are most excited about in 2010! It can be one line or an essay — whatever you feel comfortable with! Whether it’s travel to a distant land, seeing your lover again or finally getting out of school, we want to hear it!

I think I am personally most excited about seeing my parents again, being madly in love (aw) & making lots of career magic! I am also over-the-moon & totally obsessing about going to India later in the year! (!!!!!!!!!)

Okay lover, you have a week to enter! The contest is open to everyone all over the globe & runs until next Thursday (the 14th). The winner will be chosen at random & emailed for their address & details (so please make sure you put your real email address in the comment form)!

Win this Bunnyhead ring!

Only one nonpareil will win but everyone is entitled to a 15% discount on all Alegorie purchases throughout the month of January! All you need to do is enter DARLING15 during checkout!

Thanks so much to Alicia of Alegorie for making this happen… & best of luck!

P.S. Since I know you’re going to ask, my nailpolish is OPI’s DS Elegance! xo

  2. Weee!
What I’m most excited about this year is the idea of trying to get a job (finnally in the area I’m actually studying), and with that money either go to England to see my sister (and travel to other parts of Europe, obviously), or make a roadtrip through the US! Both are my dream trips and it would be AMAZING if I can make it :D

  3. Last year, shortly before my 40th birthday, I started dancing again, and magically, I found my Glittering Soul, still intact, in a pair of dance slippers.

    I ended 2009 a certified YogaDance instructor.

For 2010, I look forward to exploring this New Shiny Life.

I will open a Healing Movements Studio; I will heal myself further by exploring whatever genre of movement is calling my name (right now, bellydance, flamenco, classical Indian, and Modern); and I will continue to learn about the intimate connection between Dance and Life.

I think I could definitely use some Rabbit Medicine!

  21. 2010, here I come.
This year I’m gonna finish college finally! It’s been 5 looooong years. At times I was on the verge of giving up, but worked up the… courage to hang in there (there is a better word than courage, maybe I matured). The thought of being a professional makes me so excited squeal.

  22. I am most excited in 2010 to really take the time to grow into a person i’m proud of! Just a few months ago I moved to Austin, TX [without ever visiting before] with one friend and not much of a plan. But I am starting to settle here and I already feel so much more alive and happy with the world I’ve created for myself. This year I plan to:

-work on my music, put together an album and start playing shows around Austin [there’s already significant progress with this one!].
-start school at UT and study for my english/literature degree.
-meet new, exciting, and absolutely lovely people.
-have the opportunity to find a passionate, electrifying love.

and on top of that, I plan on traveling, reading, writing, and enjoying myself as much as I possibly can. This is a year to grow and discover new things, to be wild and free, and to get my life started up the way I want it to be!

    <3 hillary · Jan 7, 02:39 PM · #
  23. aiieee, how lovely!

i’m most looking forward to taking responsibility for my own damn self and making things happen, rather than just sitting back and waiting for opportunities to arrive at my doorstep and whinging when they don’t! POWER!

  36. I’m super excited about this year because of the things I want to achieve for myself. I spent the past few years just meandering, I have been happy but I wasn’t really achieving anything new.

But now I have the best opportunity in exploring a relationship that I feel absolutely blessed with someone very special. We’re also going on an adventure together, he’ll be going to Brisbane for work and I’ll follow him. Of course, I’m not going with him just for the sake of the relationship but it’s definitely an adventure for me too, by travelling so far!

So this year will definitely be full of adventure and many more surprises! Cheers everyone and may love, good health and success find you in this year!

I’m not perfect, and i screw up more than average, but my flaws are what make me who i am. and i’m learning to except them. i’m also now an official makeup arteest in training, yes arteest because it sounds way more glamorous than artist. haha I can’t wait to make people feel beautiful and change their perspective on themselves and the world around them.

  43. I love New Years! It is like a bonus birthday. I think it is important to constantly evolve in life and I like to think of the New Year as at time to shed the skin of last year and become new again, with of course all of your newly aquired wisdom and lessons and friends and love from the previous year. I look forward to the unknown and also up coming travels with my best friends one of whom is my super loving husband.

  44. I’m establishing my independence in 2010. I’m going to liberate myself by getting a license, maybe my motorcycle license too! But also by actively participating in life. I plan to go to make a point to see more events in my own town. Make road trips, spread the happiness I feel in my heart around me to other people. I think everyone needs a blast of an inspiration machine. I think I can be that machine of hope, joy and bliss. Also to get over my fear of roller coasters. I’m really trying to move into my Sagittarius body. It makes me feel happy and whole to be adventurous.

My revolution has already begun, and at age 26! (IT’S NEVER TOO LATE TO EVOLVE, START NOW!) I’m kicking the year off right though by learning my sewing machine, cleaning out the houses, reconnecting with lost ties, and finding compassion within to forgive and forget.

THAT is the magic I want to make happen in my life in 2010 and I’m very excited about it.

  58. well, isn’t that just the dandiest ring ever?

i’ve got so much to look forward to this year! last year, (two-thousand-and-fine, i’ve decided to refer it as from now until forever) was huge. i spent it in three different countries – australia (my home town), france (on exchange) and england (with my lover) – it was the most travelling i have ever done in a single year!

so, keeping my the-next-year-must-ALWAYS-beat-the-last lifetime goal in mind, i’ve decided to hold back another year instead of going to uni (like my mother said i should have, straight after high school last year, ho ho, yah, right). but that doesn’t mean i won’t work hard. in 2011 i hope to apply for a fashion course, so this year means sewing and photographing like a wild thing in order to develop a brilliant portfolio.
i’d also like to complete at least one novel a month, undertake a healthy, vegetarian diet and spend christmas with my boyfriend again.

ambitious? not for a capricorn, no.

  59. 2010 might just be the most exciting year of my entire life.
I’m no longer battling my eating disorder, my depression is finally loosening its grip on me, I study what I love and after all the bad memories the last months of 2009 have shown that I too can make good memories. I’m finally trusting people and allow them into my lives. I’m setting boundaries that I did not set previously because I was scared they might hurt others. I now realise that it is okay to be single, that it allows me more time to find out who I am, and what I like to do.
So that’s what I’m excited about in 2010: finally settling down and catching my breath and becoming the sparkling young female that has been hidden away inside me.

Sorry if that sounds like an exaggeration, but it isn’t. This is how I truly feel :)

  72. 2010 is a year of new beginnings for me. This December, I lost my job because my manager wouldn’t let me take time off work to go see my sick Grandpa for Christmas. Not a week later, my boyfriend & best friend left me, and we’re no longer speaking to each other.

I’m currently taking a year off from school because I just graduated from high school and wanted to do a bit of soul searching before university. I’ve done a bit of searching and I’ll be heading off to school in the fall, hopefully.

So what am I most excited for this year? Possibility! Despite being jobless, I moved out of my parents’ house. Now that I’m unemployed and single, there isn’t much tying me down to this place. I have just about every option in the world available to me right now; the possibilities are absolutely THRILLING. I can go explore the world, meet new people and remove the negative influences on my life. I can learn to love myself again.

If that isn’t a reason to be up to my nose in glee, I’m not sure what is :P

  78. 2010 will really be the start of my life as far as i am concerned!

I plan to do something that scares me every single day and write it down to look over at the start of 2011

I will be turning 18 and starting university – and living 4 hours away from home for the very first time . I will also starting completly new with none of my current friends…

I will also ditch my trademark blueblack hair for a far prettier turquoise :)

Its a scary thought but my law degree will be worth it…i thrive on challenges, and when i qualify in 4 years time i can take over the world, one peice of legislation at a time :)

    xoxo

  81. I’m excited for 2010 because I’m building my own little family, similar to yours – I moved in with my awesome boyfriend, adopted a cat to keep me on the wagon (being something’s protector keeps me on the straight-and-narrow), filled the place with everything that I love and nothing that I don’t…it’s the first home that I don’t have to share with a stranger. It’s HOME, and a HOME is what I need.

  82. I am totally and magnificently looking forward to finally living life in a way that will make me happy, rather than simply living to fulfil others’ expectations of me. This will involve: *The scary decision to quit uni and find a job- meaning that I feel in control and can study what I want, when I want. *Moving in with my BFF and his BF (less awkward than it sounds) in our house of awesomeness. *Overhauling la regime à la vegetalienne. Scrummers. *Dating guys who I like, rather than who like me and feeling flattered by it. *Being much more active in the animal rights movement. *Saving up for a Kitchenaid mixer. OH how i need it so!

  83. 2010, well, where to start? I guess I’m most excited that I have no idea what I’m going to do or be or who I’ll be with but that I have made one very important decision, which is that it’s my choice, my life and anyone who doesn’t like it, well, I’m sorry it might not be to your liking but that’s your deal, not mine.

And that feels huge, and having so much scope is mind blowing, a bit scary but exciting. So c’mon 2010, we’re going to have an adventure and I’m so pleased I’ll have fantastic company like Gala et al. en route!

  120. I am so excited about many things for 2010. 2009 was a huge year for me with getting engaged, having my bf as a roommate, graduating high school, starting college, getting my first car, drivers license etc. it’s going to be hard to top! but im totally excited to be enrolling into a photography program, hoping to take an italian class, wedding planning!!!, and to open an etsy shop to sell my photos as cards/prints etc. My fiance is quitting his job to go to school full time. he was in the navy and took a yr to work. I’m nervous about that because he doesnt get any of his housing benifits aka $$ until maybe march and will not be working! so that will be interesting b/c i don’t work either – to hectic wiht a 2yr old, puppy, and full time schooling, but i have faith and I’m not worried! I’m in such a great place in my life right now I can’t wait to see what else there is ahead.

  122. My heart is positively bursting at the seams for this year! There’s so much I want to do and/or plan to do, it’s a bit overwhelming, but I’m so excited. My tummy does a little dance & my veins feel like fireworks just thinking about how everything is changing.

This year, I’m going to be taking the SATs. I’m more than a little nervous, seeing as I recently found out I have ADD. For obvious reasons, I’m not the best at studying — I don’t think I’ve reviewed a piece of material at home since middle school. However, my burning desire to go to college has decidedly overwhelmed my desire to slack off academically. I’m completely devoted to creating better study habits and improving my concentration & organizational skills. I’ve been doing little things, but even after only a week, they’re starting to add up. I ‘m thrilled. I know if I keep trying I can do well on the SATs and go to my dream school. I know I have potential, and now I’m really going to use it & kick some nationally mandatory standardized testing ASS!

As well as having ADD, I have Social Anxiety Disorder, which is just the rainbow sprinkles on top of the socially awkward sundae. For most of my life, I’ve been the weird kid, the crazy space cadet, the “sweet but quiet” girl. No more! This year I’m going to do some research on how to talk to people (no matter how pathetic it makes me feel), swallow my fear and try to reach out to more people outside my small circle of friends. It’s scary as hell for me, but I really do love talking to people despite how painful it can be sometimes, and I know if I don’t do it more I’ll regret not finding out if this kid or that girl could have been my best friend. There’s some amazing people at my high school, and I’ve resolved to be able to talk to them by the end of this year.

As well as conquering this two biggies, on my agenda I also have: getting an after-school job, learning to drive & not damaging anything in the process, volunteering more, trying to connect with my stoic older brother before he leaves for med school, learning to play the ukulele (!), getting on the Honor Roll, watching more movies (I haven’t even seen Star Wars, whaaaaat?), learning to have more fun, genuinely laughing HARD every day, giving more sincere compliments to strangers, wearing more skirts & pretty clothes, growing my hair into a bob & learning to style it, as well as some other things I’ve probably forgotten.

This is the first year where I’ve genuinely felt excited for what’s going to come to me. I’m certain that if I stay positive and fight like hell, I can make it happen. Despite all the weird shit my mind has thrown at me, I still know that life is beautiful & overflowing with possibilities, no matter how awful things might feel sometimes.

So, in short, I’m excited for my life & I hope you’re excited for yours. :)

    Lovelovelove,

    Quinn

  125. I plan to fall in love with myself. Just thinking about it brings tears to my eyes.

I’ve always been harsh towards myself; compulsive exercising, anorexia, unhealthy obsession with high grades, unhealthy relationships… yup, I’ve been through them.

My boyfriend of 9 months left me in 2009 out of the blue. I spent months wondering what I did wrong. I was so angry at myself, thinking I messed things up. I finally realized he was the one who messed things up.

I just want to enjoy my life now. I’m studying architecture in a top university, so my schedule is rather hectic, but when I do have the time, I plan to run in the woods, take photos, read wonderful books, and eat delicious meals in bed. And if I find someone special on the way, that would be great too. :-)

  142. Gala,

Let me just say that 2010 has me VERY excited for a number of reasons. I’ve written a couple of posts on my goals and making them come into fruitition is going to be a very fun experience!

All this aside, I am MOST excited about losing weight. Now, I know this is a cliche but for fluffy people like me, this is an absolutely life changing event!

For too long, I’ve been too self conscious to let my radiance shine through. I am a lover of fashion, yet I can’t practice what I preach due to my size. I want to love, but in order to do so, I must love myself. I certainly don’t hate myself, but I’d love to really feel comfortable in my own skin!

This may or may not be something that a lot of the nonpareil’s can relate to, but in the day and age being fluffy can be hard to get away from. So I am super excited that I am finally taking the steps to a healthier life and a more beautiful body!

Im pretty exited for you too! India sounds absolutely divine quite literally, and I am swooning over the fact that you’re going! India is most definitely one of the places I’d love to go see before I move on to the next adventure!

    Much Love,

    Crysti

  146. Lately I’ve realized that I’m a chameleon. I adapt to the personalities of people around me, which is why I get along with everyone. I take on their personalities so they like me, because if I don’t like myself, I can’t very well expect anyone else to. In 2010, I’m going to grow into an individual. I’m going to plant the seeds of independence, uniqueness, and eccentricity and cultivate them for the rest of my life. They’ll never wither, because if 2009 taught me anything, it’s that the trick to leading a good life isn’t being surrounded by people who love the fake me, and it sure as hell isn’t constantly changing myself to be someone I’m not. Rather, the trick to leading a good life is loving myself and finding the people who love the real me. My mom once wrote to me, “Jump into life with both feet and scream and hang onto anyone who wants to jump with you”. That is what I’m really, truly excited to do in 2010 and every subsequent year for the rest of forever.

  149. I look forward to reading iCING. Is that terribly cheesy? I don’t mean it to be. I look forward to buying myself new clothes and to getting a job and doing what is meant to be my hardest year of school and to turning 16!

I’m excited to flutter my eyelashes at the guy I am attracted to (and do not like), dragging my friends into questionable situations, starting a club in my kitchen and to Bones starting up again.

I’m excited to hopefully fly down to Melbourne, to another 365 days of brushing my teeth, to buying an endless amount of nail polish and using it to colour in my drawings of mermaids.

And, of course I’m excited to smile and laugh and be alive, but that goes without saying.

    (:

I can’t wait to: start my new job next week (hoorah, more writing), get a Russian doll tattoo, take belly dancing classes with two of my best friends (fingers crossed for a taut tummy by 2011!), drink Riesling in the sun at Te Kairanga later this month, become a red-head again, see Lady Gaga live (ooh la la), read The Time Traveller’s Wife (thank you Santa), and most importantly, visit my wife-for-life in the UK and travel to wonderful, far flung places with her.

    Happy 2010! X

  163. Hello everyone!
I’m stoked for 2010. I will be taking a trip to Italy (Rome, Assisi, Pompeii!, Isle of Capri..) over my spring break! Absolutely thrilled.
Plus, this is the year I finally graduate from high school! Leaving my old school/past behind me is looking better and better every day. I plan on starting at college this fall as well!
I will be going on a couple smaller, but still excellent, trips over the summer. And of course, I’ll be working at my part time job as much as I can! I’ve got to fund my education somehow. :)

  176. I am looking forward most to graduating and going to college in 2010. No matter where I go, I know I’ll be in the right place, because I am in love with every single school I applied to; speaking of which, I’m SO excited to get my letters in the spring!!

Last year with my boyfriend was so incredibly wonderful, and it was only the beginning of our relationship; I know it can only get better from here, because we’ve been dealing with the long distance thing for awhile now and it’s only made us stronger. I love him so much and I can’t wait for every single instance this year when I get to see him.

This summer I plan on working three jobs, and I’m actually looking forward to it, because I live and work on Nantucket Island in the summer. To me, it’s the most beautiful place on earth, and on top of it I’ll have free lodging and making loads of money. 2010 is going to be the BEST YEAR EVER! College has been so torturous and messy for the longest time, and even though my parents are very opposed to my dropping out of school, I feel this is the best thing for me, and I am so relieved and happy that the whole thing is finally over. Further to that I am excited about this particular job I am eyeing (the interview is this Sunday) and I really hope I get it! I am really looking forward to paying off my student loans (with the spanking new job I am hoping for) and being debt-free, and finally starting my life, away from the books, the stifling system and the disapproving looks of my parents. I really feel very relieved and free right now, like my life can go in so many different directions, and the possibilities that lay ahead excite me to no end! I have not felt excited about life in a really, really long time!

  200. Hi Gala! You’re such an inspiration! Happy new year!

What I’m most excited about is that this is the year where I do and make everything that I’ve ever wanted to do. It is the year of doing, and not of only thinking and wishing. This year I come out of my bubble, I let the world see me; I love the world; I grow and evolve; I make huge and amazing changes; and I accomplish my goals. Thanks to you I understood that I don’t have to follow trends if I don’t want to, and that I can mix several colors, that I like cardigans and cupcakes too, and that I can be my own source of inspiration if I just get on my feet and do/make stuff!

Thank you for all the inspiration that you give, you’re amazing for having done everything you’ve done already, for making changes in your life, for being happy! You’re awesome girl =) Thank you!

  212. I’m more excited this year about learning about myself. My personal relationships have been getting better, my professional life, career has been going great too, both have required a lot of work. Even tho I haven’t been involved with a lover for a while, I’m not desperated to do so.

I’m motivated to keep working on my relationships with my friends and family, and even more on my work, which I just love: designer, illutrator, photographer.

I’ve finally, after years and years of struggle, managed to stay positive, push myself to live more and more, go out every day with the people I love and “get exited, make things”. The depression can still put me down but I don’t let it stop me anymore. I’ve known things depend on your own, it’s all up to you. But to know and to practice and feel are two very different things.

2010, I wouldn’t say it’s the beggining of this new journey on my life, it’s the follow-up of something that started a few months ago. Might as well take the chance to let you know, Gala, how inspiring you are.

And even tho I’m male, and I might not fit for the prize, I thought I’d take the time to let you know how inspiring you are, and how much you’ve helped me without knowing.

Here’s to you, me and everyone else, for an amazing, fun and above all things stay-positive-and-alive 2010!

    B. applying and eventually getting a great job that will finally begin my actual CAREER. not just a job! dieticians ftw

  226. This whole year is exciting!!
Things are HAPPENING this year, its in the air and everyone seems to feel it.
i’m most excited about being in love and being loved back, still! 2 years!
i’m excited about my studies, this time they are really something i find interesting.
i’m excited by all the potential of this year, just thinking about the possibilities of travel around Europe and seeing shows and maybe summer festivals and swimming in lakes, all gives me the most delicious shivers.
i’m excited about moving forward with my life; consciously, with gratitude, openness and cheerfulness!
moving out, and all that entails: waking up with my love, cooking and baking in our own place, having room to set up our instruments and my painting stuff, falling asleep together…

it’s difficult to find something i’m NOT excited about this year :)

    thank you Gala :*

This year, I am super-excited about so many things, launching my own product line on my blog, saving money so CDH and I can emigrate to Germany, starting our German language classes, brewing my own alcohol, and – most of all – signing my first ever novel contract with a major publisher. Arrrrgh! :)

I am moving in with him and my parents in Feb & I plan on tapping his brain for any and all stories he has to share. The older generations have so much wisdom, experience, knowledge, etc to pass on and it truly is one our most valuable assets. :)

  231. I’m so excited about living, loving and learning. I can’t wait to finally break out of my parents nest, and follow my own yellow brick road into the big bad world! I’m talking about travelling (India, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam, here I come!); falling more in love, not only with the most perfect man of my dreams, but learning to love myself just as much, and finally, finishing my Art Foundation course at college in preparation for a lifelong love affair with costume creation for the weird, wonderful and whimsical!

I am trying to tackle the root, and I feel like I’m growing up. I’ve been waiting for years for things to change on their own, for life to become what I expect, but I’ve got to make my own change and the simple act of organizing myself, preparing, feels like the first step.

  243. I am most excited about this year because:

I have known I need to get better grades, so I have started working at it more and hopefully I will be where I want with that this year.

I am also excited, because this year I will be 16 – and then I get to drive… which will be the shiz. And of course, with being 16 then I can go out and get a job. Whiiiich, could be ‘exciting’ I guess. Lolz!

I do need to start getting things in order, and plan more. So I am going to start working on that, which is going to make everything soooo much better.

AND – I’m excited that I’m in the 200’s for comment. I’ve never been down that far. O_O! Sarcasm

  244. I remember being in the sixth grade, walking to the bay at the end of my street, and sitting on the sand for hours staring at the New York skyline. It’s been my dream to live in Manhattan for almost as long as i can remember. Even to the extent that when people would ask “What do you want to be when you grow up?” I would say “a New Yorker”. Today, I received a letter of acceptance in the mail for Marymount Manhattan College and I think my soul became a little more complete. Come September I’ll be living and going to college in the city that makes me feel like magic.

  248. This year I am full of super-stokage to be on my final year of my degree, happy and healthy, with the most caring and handsome man I could ever hope for.
I am trembling with excitement about packing our separate belongings into big brown boxes and having them mingle when opened into a space neither mine nor his, but ours
I look forward with the utmost glee to actually realising my dream of throwing it all in and becoming a florist, and am charmed that the wheels are already in motion.

  253. Okay, just thinking about this makes me rather giddy with the expectations I have of 2010. What I am most excited about is… finishing school, and everything that that implies. This past year and this one that will follow only mean thinking about the future and what will I do with my life after finishing with school. Finding the purpose of my life, that is what I am most excited about. Perhaps not the purpose of my life — I’m still quite young to be that ambitious — but getting closer to it step by step.

Pursuing what I have just discovered is my true passion (oh dear goodness, I am so incredibly excited): books, reading, English, all sorts of literature. Oh dear goodness. Being excited about how after this year (which I know will be FANTASTIC) the routes my life will take will be made by my decisions only. Yearning to turn my life into one such that I will wake up everyday wanting to live my life fully. You know. Instead of grumbling of being awoken by the alarm clock, jumping out of bed because each day is spent with things that fill me spiritually.

This time I’m going to dedicate more time to spreading my positive view on the world, appreciating the intricate and small details that are so beautiful in life, and really getting to where I want to be.

I know with my drive and creative spirit I can do so much and go so far, but no one will make it happen other than myself!

    Negativity (aka Poison) OUT

  284. I am so excited for next summer, and graduating high school. I have been waiting twelve years for this, and it’s so nearly here. I have to make it through the winter, and when spring rolls around I’ll be waiting for the moment when they’ll say ‘pens down,’ in my final exam. I am so excited for getting my letter with my results, the culmination of six years of higher schooling (and I’m definitely waiting for the letter, I don’t want to get my results online or via text). I’m positively jumping out of my skin at the thought of what I will do the next year – like Gala, I’ve got a hankering for India, but maybe Japan? South America? I’m going to get a job I don’t hate, and stop selling popcorn to angry people in an overpriced cinema. I can’t wait to turn eighteen, and trek down to Melbourne to get the tattoo that my father is terrified of. I cannot wait for schoolies! I’m going to spend a week with my best friends getting plastered everyday in the sun (sorry, body). I am so, so excited for everything.

  286. In 2010, I turn 20 years old. Luckily, that’s halfway through the year! So this year I am most excited about the remnants of being a teenager, but also moving on into the next decade of my life. In the previous 2-3 years, I learnt so much about myself that it doesn’t all quite make sense yet! So this year should be about applying what I learnt and making sure I grow into an adult properly.
As I get older I gain more freedom, so I definitely do not want to lose the spontaneity of being young. I’m going to combine the two [hopefully] and stay happy!
Some of the events I want to plan this year:
Dressing up for the spring races
    A trip to New Zealand!
A pirates vs ninjas dress up && gaming day!
This year is the year of magic, glamour and passion!

  295. I’m excited for so much in 2010. I graduated training in a month and I’ll officially be a part of the U.S. Army and NC National Guard. I will be starting college in the fall majoring in vocal performance and possibly a minor in theater. I look forward to seeing my lover again after being apart for the past year. And my dad finally comes home from Iraq soon.

  297. I’m excited for the possibility of all the crazy things bound to happen in the next year. I’m a sucker for spontaneity and I find the best things in life are the ones you do in the spur of the moment.

I’m also excited for all the girls nights we are going to have this year. Most of my friends are starting this year newly single. What does this mean? More martinis, chick flicks, and flirting —and less drama, sports games, and ‘bro-ing out.’ I’m all for it!

Annnnd me and my best friend are capping off our traveling this year by going to Serbia and many other countries surrounding. 2010 will be fantastic!

  298. I am excited about heavy snowfall and ice-skating while holding hands with someone I love. Snuggles and heavy books, and small poetry anthologies and vintage rings. I am excited for smoky tea-leaves, travelling and laughter. Running in the sand & not running away from challenges. I am excited about being able to be brave, about falling down and standing up again. I am excited that I am, for once, not dreading the new year. Opening up and letting go. I am excited because I know that I will be happy & sad & ecstatic & scared and it will all come out fitting together brilliantly in the end.

  303. 2010 is the year I get many loose ends tied and begin a new journey!
I finish my undergraduate degree in april and then am off to visit my family in India during the month of May. I am going for my cousin’s wedding and its going to be a huge event, about which I am ecstatic.
I will, hopefully, get into teachers college and begin that in August and move out on my own for the first time (!!!)
I get to let go of some past people/baggage that weighs down on my heart and make hedge way into the goals I have for myself as an adult (I turn 22 this year!)

  304. 2010 is an exciting year for me. Not only am I in a wonderful relationship with my perfectly handsome boyfriend, but we have an opportunity to travel together. I live in Missouri, and I am 80% sure I will be house sitting for a relative in California; during this time I will be networking for my future jobs, but I will be making a side trip to Las Vegas with mi novio. Also, during Spring Break, I get to go to Chicago! There is a lot of travelling in my future, and I am very excited about it!

    **
I’m MOST excited about the endless possibilities this year has in store for me! **

I’m excited about letting last years worries and troubles and procrastinations go!

I’m excited about all the challenges I have to face this year as a student leader, a theatre ambassador, a youth council reprasentative and a role model to younger year levels.

I’m excited for a year that will be better than the last one.

I discovered you, Gala, about mid-way through last year and have been SO THANKFUL EVER SINCE! You’ve helped every aspect of my life in some way, I’m sure.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I’m excited to be able to share 2010 with you and have a full year of love letters and feather headdresses.

Ahhh this has been wonderful just being able to share and realise everything I’m excited for!
    Fabulous.

    xoxo
I’m excited about planning a trip OUT OF NEW ZEALAND!

I’m excited about finding inspiration and beauty in everything I can, and not keeping it to myself but sharing it with everyone.

I’m excited about possible new friendships and relationships.

I’m excited for March 11 when Leo is out of retrograde, hahaha. Then let the creativity begin!

I’m excited about writing and painting and designing and sharing it with people! And finding time to do it all.

I’m excited about organizing my life, finally.

I’m excited to see whether I can stick to my new years resolutions and hand assignments in.

I’m excited to see when what I’ve put on my vision board will come true. Air New Zealand Fashion Week? Art Space volunteer? Getting rad new accessories? ;)

I’m excited to spend a whole year watching what Gala has instore!

  310. I am most excited about my last year of High school. Soaking up the last ounce of free education I can get and wasting this privilege by going to the mall instead, with my friends. With whom I will hopefully be going on road trips, camping, eating, drinking tea, watching movies, telling bad jokes. This year is going to be amazing! ( hopefully)

I’m going on 26 this month and I am so excited to fully become that woman I’ve been aiming to be. I want nothing but beautiful days that require some sort of celebration. I am starting a new exciting career, fixing submarines. Something I’ve never done, but am trying it out and hoping for the best.

  315. I am most excited for the opportunity I get with the Globe Theatre here in Regina. A few months ago I auditioned for an Actor Conservatory program and made it in because I did a lot of preparation. This is the biggest thing that has happened in my career thus far. 16 weeks of 6 days a week from 10am to 6pm… and it all caps off with doing my first professional show for a professional theatre company (that is not dinner theatre)!

This is going to be a good year, and it didn’t take luck or magic to get where I am. :)

We even took a note from the show that’s coming on MTV soon, the Buried Life, and we’ve made a list of things we want to do before we die. On top of that, towards the end of June I’ll be going on a trip to San Francisco. This may not be a big deal to some people, but considering that I’ve never been on a plane and I rarely leave North Carolina, it’s a huge deal to me. This year I’m going on STUDY MONSTER OVERDRIVE as I slay subjects such as biology, chemistry, physics, and all the math prerequisites that encounter me. It sounds like it will be a tough year, but I’m excited to assume my rightful place in the college kingdom. Also at school, I’m trying to start Sleep Society, a club where we share our funny, scary, or illogical dreams. Apart from school, my boyfriend and I are submitting his poetry and prose for several literary magazines, so hopefully he’ll be published! Every day I am more convinced that I’m falling madly in love with him and I’d like to spend the year cuddling with him, watching Family Guy episodes and stealing other people’s popcorn at the movies…

While 2010 didn’t start out with a huge bang or anything out of the ordinary (actually, I spent the first day of the new year in quite a negative mood), I feel very positive and excited about the months to come!

I am excited for so many other things as well. Continuing to live in my amazing warehouse space with amazing creative people while persuing my costuming and fashion dreams. I’ve been getting closer and closer to what I want and I can feel things reaching a tipping point.

This ring seems so timely, lately I’ve been obsessed with rabbits and have been thinking about them as my token animal for the new year. If I don’t win, I’m buying one anyway!

  400. Well, my 2009 was a bit of a bum year. In 2010 I am ready to let go, bid adieu to last year, and start anew. I’m not doing anything huge, but that’s okay because the little things count just as much or even more as what is considered as a “huge thing,” if you know what I’m sayin. I’m not doing anything super out of the ordinary, I’m just changing my mindset. And I love bunnies.

As for what I am most looking forward to in 2010… hmmm… going back to school (part time), finding a new job, moving, celebrating my first wedding anniversary, taking a procrastinated-upon honeymoon, kisses, seeing my friends more, going on facebook less, the fact that the fiveawesomegirls on YouTube are going back to daily videos (love them), reading more books, writing more blog entries, working hard, and having a ball. 414. Every year, I choose a quote or line to describe what I want to work towards in that year. For 2010 it is “If you want to be happy, be.” It’s a Leo Tolstoy quote which makes so much sense, because I have finally realized just how in charge of my own happiness I am! I took a year off before university, and I’m so excited about using the money I’ve been saving to go on a trip. I am dreaming of volunteering in Ghana, and the thought of it makes my heart beat. I’m so happy to not be in school, and so happy that by the end of 2010 I will be. I am just in such an exciting/ excited time of my life!

& that’s how i feel thinking about what lies ahead this year, next year & every year to come.

in the past year, i learnt a very important lesson, & reached a point where i realised “fuck it, life really IS short!” and all that was outside of the present moment can just wait…

2010 feels like a truly clean slate.
& now i can dream freely… i have faith in myself/the universe (after all, we’re the same!) to bring me the path that i should skip & dance excitedly on.
i’ll just do baby steps to start with.

  422. I’ve been stagnant and tired for too long, and 2010 will be my year. I felt too old when I turned 18 in 2009. Happiness didn’t matter to me anymore because I was focused on what I was going to do with the rest of my life and upset because I didn‘t have any idea. Even now, I’m starting my second semester in college with no clue. But that’s OKAY.

I’m excited to paint my nails, sing in the shower, have picnics at the park, swim in the ocean, buy beautiful clothes, curl my hair for work even though I’m just a cleaning girl, write down every story that comes to mind, paint with my boyfriend, wake up before the sun rises instead of sleeping until noon, cook elaborate meals and pretend I’m on Top Chef, smile more, and for happiness.

  438. Dear Twenty Ten,

I have many things to look forward to this year:
My first year out of high school, moving all the way from Melbourne to New York and then to London, being of legal age, living life as an adult, planning road trips with my best friend, writing other exotic plans in my Moleskine, finally gaining some responsibility and control back in my life, finding love, shopping extravagantly and just living to the full extent.

All of these sound marvellous but there’s only one thing I’m 100% excited, over the moon and thrilled about in this upcoming year. Every other year of my life has been predictable and the same routine everyday.
This year, I’m looking forward to the unknown; to taking leaps of faith; taking risks and chances and, as Glee says, ‘never knowing if there’s solid ground below or a hand to hold or hell to pay’; to not making plans set in stone; to giving it my all and not knowing the outcome; to the possibility of dramatic life changing events.
I’m looking forward to welcoming and embracing change.

    Love,
    Simi.

  455. 2010 is going to be my year of new beginnings. I know it.
I’m going to really explore my chosen major [English] and search out some exciting and less-traveled minors. I’m in the process – right now – of transferring to a school closer to my home, but it’s private, so I need all the luck I can get!
I want to learn so much – about the world, my friends, my family, and myself! I’m going to really reconnect with my loved ones, before it’s too late.
I’m going to turn twenty this year – two decades on this earth and I feel like I’ve done very little except what I’m told will be the “right” thing for me.
That needs to change, and it’s going to.
This is my year to be me.

    Best wishes for 2010!

  456. New decade, new outlook!

By the end of 2010 I’ll be one step closer to a degree in French and Art History, I will have travelled solo for the very first time, and I’ll be a published author of modern fairytales (the word “published” is a bit of wishful thinking, but surely you can never be too confident about these things!).

Also, I’ve been reading some of the other comments and I’m blown away – clearly this will be a wonderful, exciting year for everyone! Bon courage tout le monde!! xxx

  458. Loving it!

Though, Gala, I must say that the existence of actual ancient Celtic animists is highly debatable and the sacredness of rabbits (or hares) in particular is even more patchy. ;) I think it just might tickle you pink, though, that rabbits were a common gift in Ancient Greece given as a love token! :) But, usually from an older male to a younger male…

Not an entry, but since I’m really excited about 2010 and like to share why: This is the year my career as an independent historian/archaeologist is taking off (already have two paying articles lined up) AND I’m buying a little farmstead in Brittany (France) to live my dream! You’ll know the feeling well — isn’t just saying “to heck with convention, I’m doing what I want to” the best? :D

  462. What I am looking forward to most of all this year, more than my desire to succeed in my studious/not-so-much endeavors to take/pass the Graduate Exam and move along into a major which my heart has been set on since middle school (Interior Design) and excel above and beyond the call of duty/inspiration, I look forward to most of all, the reunion between myself and my heart (more love of myself entirely). It has been exclusively non-existent for quite some time. I would like to reunite with my best friend, whom I haven’t been with in three years and counting, I would like to experience my first love…my first kiss! I’m 22, and it just hasn’t happened. I would like to reunite my passionately optimistic soul with my mother’s love of life and everything in between, and see my grandmother before Alzheimer’s completely takes her over. I would like my heart to grow more courageous and radiate this energy to everyone who continues to envelop my feeble and tiny flickering flame and have it burn brighter. I hope to burn brighter! I hope 2010 is the year in which I finally find out what I am really capable of, and I’m willing to embrace it head on, and only hope that it embraces me back.

Traveling to London, marrying the man who’s made my heart smile for 9 years, taking extra leaps of faith and not letting fear get the best of me, photography, sewing, school, loving unconditionally, smiling every day, getting my dream job as a theatrical costumer, studying abroad, blogging, eeek, there’s so much!! 464. This year I’ll be completing my first year of college! More importantly though, this is my first full year on my own, living life as an adult (well, a university student, but it’s still a step in the right direction and a HUGE change from living at home.)

I can’t wait to see what new challenges, joys, and overall experience this year of independence will bring, and what wisdom I’ll be able to extract from it.

P.S. That ring is adorable, whoever wins this giveaway is a lucky girl indeed

  465. For me, 2010 is the beginning of the rest of my life. I’m most excited about getting married and doing it regardless of what “tradition” tells me I have to do, we’re doing it our way, who cares about convention! I’m excited because 2010 feels like a time to grow and leave all of the last decade’s drama behind. Feels amazing!

Other than that I really have no idea what this year will hold for me, improvement at the whole ‘being a manager’ thing.

I may meet a whole bunch of new people, I may go places I’ve never been. I’m obviously not a planner. I just hope this year will be amazing. It’s not really off to a good start though.

Planning started today and we’ll be staying and working with an orphanage there for about a month. I’m also thrilled to enter 2010 single after almost three years of an unhealthy relationship. The months since summer have been ones of much needed and glorious change and I think 2010 will bring the same. OH! And how could I forget? There will also be as much skydiving done this year as possible. =)

I’m incredibly excited about planning a trip to Brazil with my boyfriend. He asked me to go with him during the midnight fireworks on NYE. Trying to learn Portuguese, deciding where to visit, and all with my beloved best friend is definitely the thing I’m most looking forward to. I’m also over the moon with excitement about my internship which starts in february, when I will be researching the socio-economic position of writers in different European countries. I absolutely love the institution where I will be doing my research: lots of ceiling-high bookshelves and all these literary idols of mine walking in through the art nouveau front door.

  486. 2010 is a brand new experience for me, i’m so determined and inspired by this fresh start after such a shitty 2009, don’t get me wrong, there were amazing parts to ’09 but WOW it was a negative time.

    I am looking forward to:

    -Learning to love myself.

-Healing wounds I thought I could ignore and therefore get over.

-To enjoying my new found best friend, lover and love and learning to focus on all the positive things instead of nit-picking through fear of being hurt, this is the best relationship i’ve ever had and he really, truely loves me as much as I do him.

-Being selfish when it matters, grabbing life my the balls and living and deciding by my own opinion only.

-Giving up my habit of wearing only black, I didn’t even really realise until I found this blog. I LOVE CLOTHES, I love colour but i’ve never loved or cared about myself enough to just wear whatever I want, I mean, i’ve got good taste, I’m just never brave enough to embrace it. Time for that to change!

-Being true to myself as if I were 15 again, I didn’t realise I became so complicated and developed an adaptive personality that morphes depending on who i’m with. This isn’t to say i’m a fake, I will never pretend to like something if I don’t etc. I’ve just forgotten about my passions for far to long.

-Planning my trip to India. I was supposed to go when I was 16 to help build schools and teach english but I chickened out because of wearing black and thinking I would die of heat and being overweight around poor people. Fuck that, I want to go so bad, I’m going to change the things that stop me from doing it.

-Begining my training as a psychiatric nurse. I don’t believe in the boundary of sane and insane in the slightest. For me it’s more fortunate and unfortunate, carefree and deeply entwined. I have a strange ability to be able to empathise and connect with almost anyone I meet and even though the thought of this career scares me, I actually know I could make a difference.

  487. In 2010 I am most excited for life. As simple as that.

It is a miracle I survived the last few years of my life, with medical problems that held me back and mental health issues that caused me to not want to even try and fight. That is over now. I am not what I used to be.
I am strong, and I will fight. And most of all, I want to live again.

I am most excited about living life, not just ‘going through it’. I am excited about eating food and actually tasting it, about breathing in the air and realising what a precious gift it is, about feeling laughter and happiness and experiencing all the joys of life.

    I am excited.

  505. On January 2 I found out that I’m pregnant. This is something I wasn’t planning or expecting, but it happened. It’s funny because one of my new year resolutions was getting more in touch with my soft femenine side (careful what you wish for! :P).
I know I’m a strong girl, and I was completely ok with the idea of being a single mom, but the guy (who, by the way, I meet only a few months ago) and was first against me going through with the pregnancy is now also excited and he is the one having the morning sickness. It’s showing me that I’m surrounded by amazing loving people and that there’s always room for more surprises in life.

  549. Two-Thousand-and-Ten means using my passport for the first time to travel and study in a country which I don’t know either the language or customs. I don’t have a return date or an itinerary – I am going to take it as it comes – spontaneity generally isn’t in my personality.
New friends, new ideas, new skills – I am excited about becoming a new person.

    - leaving behind 2009 as proof of my indestructibility

  551. This year I am excited to learn more about myself and learn to love myself more. I look forward to spending time with my boyfriend, and growing to love him more each day. I want to patch things up that I overlooked in 2009 and fix some old friendships. I started taking kickboxing classes, and they RULE.

I look forward to making 2010 my most sparkely, magical, glittery, love-filled, tea drinking, adventuring, wish-filled, and amazing year so far.

  553. 2009 granted me the opportunity to move to london and intern for some of fashions most valued designers. 2009 boosted my confidence, healed some deep dark wounds, and most of all woke me up! 2009 changed my life, and i finally became me, for me. 2009 crossed my paths with people i’ll never forget.
In 2010 im looking forward to continuing my career path, something ive been working towards my whole life. im looking forward to all the collaborations, the new people i will meet along my path, travelling, enjoying my gap year … and most of all, taking chances and daring to do so… know matter what.

  566. I know it may sound cheesy but I want to try and do things for others, even though they won’t do anything back. I’ve been watching one friend of mine that always gives so much, even though people may not deserve it and in the end it’s usually worth it. So instead of being negative I’m gonna try to be more of a ‘YES’ person and try to be more tolerant. I know this is REALLY going to be a challenge for me. :>

  576. What am I most exited for in 2010? To be honest with you, I am so excited for it all! My feet weren’t touching the ground as the year changed, and I have to say that I can feel that energy rush through me this year. I feel incredibly amazing about absolutely everything, including all the negatives.

-I am excited about my social anxiety and depression. They have taught me so much about myself and people in general. I am who I am thanks to SAD and depression, and I wouldn’t ever take them away.
-I am excited about laughter and smiles. I hated my smile up until a few months ago, and now I am constantly wearing one. The funny thing is, I’ve been receiving so many compliments on my smile! haha Everything they say about smiles is true, you never are fully dressed without a smile.
-I am excited about performing. I get to return to the stage again, and it feels amazing. Whether it be acting or dancing, I love the stage. I am so thankful to have this opportunity in my life.
-I am excited for the unknown. Who knows what awaits? Romance? Luck? Misery? Not knowing keeps me on my feet. ;)

I“m excited about changing my life, letting go of the past and moving forward. Anything I want to do I will do, even if it sounds crazy or people think I am unlikely to succeed. I“m thinking of getting a tattoo on the inside of my wrist to represent a new life.

+ reuniting with a special someone in Vancouver, BC next month
+ launching my blog, and showcasing some of the amazing people I get to call friends
+ rediscovering my long-lost personal style
+ putting together a team to create my first iPhone app

  695. I am most exicted about having the first year of my life with my first serious boyfriend,or even boyfriend in general. When I met him I was at the bus stop 1:00 in the morning from a seriously long day of work. The funny thing is I was walking to the bus stop just as my bus was coming,I passed and decided I’d rather sit down and wait for the next one, because I remember thinking in my head, “Maybe something interesting will happen and I might miss it.” The bus stop I go to is in a crazy city with really weird people that always tell you about themselves, and their lives in Germany and street carnivals.(I’m serious),and it’s like a movie!Just as I sat down,my now boyfriend walked by and sat down.I know it sounds so corny and cheesy, but it’s like someone wrote this for a movie. The best luck I’ve ever had.I’m so glad I was too lazy to catch the first bus.

  702. I’m most excited about this year i turn 18.
    eight. teeeeen!
It is safe to say over the last few years my goals have been simple: be happy with me by the end of it, and succeed! Which i have thankfully achieved and have found myself growing and waiting for so long and now 18 marks one of the biggest points in my life so far, an age when decisions have to be made, when i have to start taking responsibilities seriously, recognising that i can’t get away with what i could when i was 15 and the same excuses just won’t work anymore. Its terrifying and new, that awfully shiny word that you can’t help but fall for yet feel guilty your leaving that old sentimental filled bunny in the corner behind, as you push it further and further away. I just hope, i make the right choices when i come to them.

  706. 2009 was a very emotional year for me, my first year of college (after dropping out of high school) and a close friend of mine committed suicide. 2010 I am convinced will be better.
Tonight I am helping out with a drag show and I heard there will be Evangelical Christians protesting. But that is only ONE event.
I plan on also having more Bridgette Bardot, Happy/hyper people, and artsy fartsy things in my life.
Also I am going to study to become a DOULA which is like a pregnancy therapist, I am so psyched to be helping out women with everything.
ALSO! I am going to experiment with my hair.
I am so scared, yet exhilarated to not feel so attached to it any more.

  707. After a year of struggling with my business (2009) I have renewed hope that I will manifest all my dreams this year. I am feeling motivated like I haven’t in a long time. And I believe that all the positive thoughts are already working. I have extended my hours at the salon and my friends are all calling at once to get haircuts from me at home. I am about to get a new Serger so my design business can take off as well. I have faith that 2010 is going to be the year that I finally work as hard as I want to and see it pay off. I also want to save all the excess money I spend on fashion to take a lovely vacation to Thailand/Cambodia which I have been dreaming about for years. And last but not least, that ring is so cute, I call my sweet little kitty bun (bunny). I am excited for this year because for the first time in almost ten years, after all the hardships I’ve gone through recently, I’m finally starting to discover who I really am and what I want to do with my life—and I’m finally going to work towards becoming the person I’ve always wanted to be. I will make mistakes, I will do stupid things, but I feel like since I got over the fact that my boyfriend/fiance of almost 10 years left me, and I’m still in one piece? Now I can overcome anything. I still may be picking up the pieces, sure, but now I can form those pieces into something even more beautiful than before, and that gives me hope.

There is a world of possibility of what job I can find or create! I’ve been making notes and reading self help books and talking with people and seeing what’s out there. This is it world, Raphaelle is coming.

  726. I am excited for the entire year. 2009 was probably my hardest year to date—several close family members passed away, I started and struggled through my beginning semester of graduate school, crashed my car twice. It’s been incredibly difficult, but somehow not a total loss. Lots of good things happened too, and even though it was hard, I liked a lot of little things about it.

But 2010 will be better. There will be a lot of change, and that scares me, but it’s alright! I’m excited for spring, for new movies, and food. I’m excited for a lot of little things :)

  727. 2010 is the year I will make a substantial amount of my dreams come true:

+ I’ll travel around Europe for the first time in my life and alone.
+ I’ll move into my own apartment.
+ I’ll take as many necessary steps to become a Rockette/dancer/Yoga enthusiast and instructor.
+ And I will finally be independent.

What’s not to be excited about?

  728. I am excited about falling in love, meeting the people who leave me awestruck and inspired, leaving my boundaries behind, aiming higher and achieving more than I could have ever imagined, defeating my disorder, finding the amazing friends I deserve that I know are waiting for me somewhere, learning, experiencing and visiting things that I have always wanted to, old and new.

But most of all, I am excited at finally realising my dreams, looking up to the stars knowing I am up there with them, that things really are just keep getting better and that I really am destined for something amazing.

I am excited to be living.

  729. I’m most looking forward to this new year of no stress, zen love, and moving on from the death of my best friend. This is the year of happiness and unconditional love. Letters to friends who live interstate, romances that don’t break your heart and reminding my parents just how much i love them. It’s being the memory of my best friend and supporting cancer charities, giving without the intention of taking.

  731. I’m uber-excited about 2010 because: – I am living my dream of being an awesome rock journalist – I am interviewing some of my musical heroes next Wednesday and I can barely believe I made it happen!

-I’m trying super-hard at my degree to make my family, friends, teachers and myself proud.

    - I’m taking Tiger-style Kung-Fu lessons with 2 new friends to help boost my confidence (and help if I meet any nasty people in dark alleyways)

    - I’m going to a foreign music festival -adventure time!

    - I’m dyeing my hair pink! (something I’ve wanted to do for years now) :D

    - I’m writing my goals in the present tense to make them seem less far away hehe

Yay! Thought I’d share the happiness that is being 18 and excited about life.

  755. This year I am excited about bringing beautifully grotesque monsters into existence, I will paint them with rainbows and stuff them with glittery tinsel.

This year I am excited about making porn, porn that is ethical, that is art and changes attitudes about sexuality for the better.

This year I am excited because I will save enough to move to Japan where I will see temples, blossoms, robots and schoolgirls. I will be disturbed and inspired by Japanese rainbow monsters and porn.

This year I am excited because I’m already happier than I ever thought I could be when I was a deeply depressed teenager who never completed highschool. I can look at where I’ve been and say to myself “You’ve come a long way, babe!” and the knowledge of what I can get through makes the future stretch out inviting and exciting.

    6) I look forward to figuring out who I am, and embracing that person.
    7) I will face the challenge to get over my self esteem problems and not resort to self harm in the following year, which will involve trying new methods of coping. That may end up being difficult, but I will do it by trying whatever it takes. Medition, EFT, two therapy sessions a week, I dont care what I need to do, I will make this work.
    8) I am so very excited to explore my spiritual side.
9)I get to train the new puppy we are taking care of. I want to get him ready for the Canine Good Citizen Test.

I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting upon this and what I want to change this year and how I am supposed to do it. I’m really thankful for your posts inspiring to do so, and I would like to request posts later in the year reminding me to think about my goals and such…

Also I am really excited about having moved to China from Europe (Sweden) in November 2009. It’s been catching me how cool this is and now that I’ve had the time to explore some I’ve seen more possibilities and know what I can do and achieve here. 791. My contest entry!!
I want to be a fashion designer. I have grown up being an oquard dyslexic kid who couldn’t spell and had a hippy mom. My mother was always against consumerism so I wasn’t allowed dolls or really any clothing. I dont mean my mom never let me get cloths but I almost intiarly had to make it off hand me downs, which can be really cool. She had left my dad so she couldnt really afford buying me cloths more then once every two years which made it very difficulte when I went to middle school.
My inability to ware the latest brand labels made me obsesed with fashion. I spent a lot of time sketching how I would dress if If I could make my own cloths. When I started high school I started sewing a lot and am know intirly sure about fashion design as my corer. Im 17 and a prolific seamstress in a very small town thats well known for almost all of its clothing stors having the word hemp or natural in them.
Im glade I grew up in this town though because it gave me a better understanding of the world around me and introduced me to lots of fun things like faeries, astrology, and yes animal spirits. Im most excited this year about getting my college applications back. College is my next big step and im so excited for it. I hope to get into Cooper Union (Yay New York!) or RISD! I cant wait to take this dorky small town girl and rock through my classes spending all my time studying something I absolutely love, FASHION!!!

  795. 2010 is going to be an amazing and difficult year. This is the year I make my new life here in Melbourne, away from my family and all of the people that have supported me for 23 years.

This year, I’m excited about: – finding a job in my field. – discovering new places to go and people to meet. – being newly vegetarian (and working on reducing my carbon footprint by living more sustainably). – Marrying my boyfriend whilst wearing a vintage slip that cost me $5.99 and a pair of combat boots and a tiny bluebird in my hair, after spending several months apart applying for a fiancée visa. (He can’t stay in Australia if we don’t marry, so we’re doing the only thing we can do to stay together.) – Hopefully going to Europe mid-year to meet my boyfriend’s family in Belgium, see my ladyfriend in Berlin and get tattooed in Norway by one of my closest friends.

2010 is a year of new experiences, both wonderful and terrifying.

  803. i am most excited about finally taking a hold of my dreams and setting goals for my future – which is something i’ve never done before! i have already started my blog and am succeeding in my goal for this month (the amount of pageviews/readers i have!) which makes me incredibly happy and excited for the future. i am excited that it’s the last year of school for me, also. not the mention the fact that i am having a complete self-overhaul. i’ve been working on becoming a fabulous, positive person for the past year (THANKS TO YOU, BY THE WAY. love you forever for that one) and i have never ever ever been happier EVER! i have found that my karma is INSANELY good and instead of bad things seeming to happen all the time, i’ve only had good things happen. people aren’t usually the nicest to me even though i try to be nice, and now i’ve had nothing but super super super sweet people coming to tell me how amazing & positive they think i am. i’ve had lot’s of people tell me that they see who they wish they were in me. i just haven’t stopped smiling for days & i’m so excited for it all to continue so i can have a really amazing year. i know in my heart that this year is going to be brilliant, i can just really feel it. maybe it’s because i’ve had a string of really horrible years (5 or 6 really bad ones) and i’m just so ready to break free and be myself, be happy and inspire others.
& i’m honestly not trying to suck up here, but i owe all this happiness to this blog. really, i do. you’ve taught me so much and made me such an amazingly happy person and i never thought i would be who i am today. i am so insanely proud of myself and excited for LIFE. especially in 2010. it’s going to be such a magical year. ♥ ♥

  804. well, it’s sure going to be a MAGICAL year.
The last couple of years have brought such insights and openness of mind and heart, connecting with the Goddess, listening to my intuition and generally getting in touch with Mother Earth (I’ve done kundalini Yoga, studied the relationship between the moon and my monthly cycle, bellydanced, worked with clay on the ancient goddesses of Neolithical times – à la Gimbutas, breathed, connected with my sexuality, studied tarots etc etc)
In 2010 I’ve already planned a couple of workshops in shamanism, I feel strongly interested in that.
And possibly marrying/having a child with my found again enthusiastic Saggo.

btw the rabbit (hare?) is such a strong symbol, a goddessy animal par excellance

    hugs

  805. I’m excited for going to law school in the fall, getting to move into my very own place for the first time, winning lots of achievements on Team Fortress 2, earning money in a job where I feel useful and productive, and staying with my boyfriend for yet ‘nother year. Awesome!

  806. I am most excited about LOVE! I have been the logical, rational, isolated, defensive ice queen for the past year. It was the best way I knew for surviving a breakup of a seven year relationship and the death of my mother, plus moving to a new place, losing my job and getting a new one, and generally being broke as a joke.
It wasn’t the best way to get by, but at the time it seemed like the easiest. Being brave and alone is hard! But I am learning that it takes a whole lot more courage to be SOFT than HARD, and that is where I am attempting to go. To allow love and light and spirituality and colors back into my life, not even one at a time, but in a deluge, and to ask them to please stay there, without any embarrassment.
Oh, and yeah, my sexy new man who brings me NyQuil when I am sick and rubs my shoulders and calls me Magellan. I am pretty excited about him, too. Oh please please please I need a bunnyhead ring! :)

  811. Looking forward to spending year 8 with my guy (whose nickname happens to be Bunny). We met when we were 7 (back in 1978), and were so crazy about each other, but were too shy to do or say anything about it. He walked me home often (even though he lived a couple of miles in the opposite direction) and always gave me a card for all of the major holidays (he brought them to my house rather than give them to me in front of the WHOLE SCHOOL). At 16, I moved away and we lost touch. In 2002, I found him again and we finally got to say everything we wanted to say all those years ago, and now we spend all of our time acting like a couple of lovestruck teenagers.

Also looking forward to getting back in the raw food saddle (I learned to sprout over the holidays!) and trying for 80% or higher this year. With my Bunneh!

  812. I am most excited to make a change for myself, and hopefully for the world (even if I just do my little part). I hope to take better care of myself and of others around me (help others, volunteer more, be more eco-friendly, etc). I’m also excited for May, because my family will have a bit more money available, so we could probably afford some luxuries (finally! :))
