Daily Outfit, 12th January 2007.
Blue fluffy aviator hat
Pale pink slip
Rubber glittery sandal wedges
Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses
Cigarette!
This is my Tank-Girl-who-reads-fashion-magazines ensemble. Ha! It’s also a demonstration of how neutral-coloured clothing (the pale pink slip) is very versatile. I could wear pretty much anything with it & it would probably work.
I bought the slip from a market years ago & it has had a surprising amount of use. I suspect this is because of the colour. It also happens to perfectly match my pink & gold headscarf, & since I am big on that matchy-matchy thing, that probably helps. I also like to wear it over jeans, or with a long, light knitted sweater over the top. I really don’t have the boobs to fill it out, & should ideally wear a bra with it, but wasn’t in the mood today.
Shoes came from a department store in Melbourne & were on sale for about $60 Australian. They’re very cute, I love the shape of them. They also happen to be exceedingly comfortable & in my favourite colour! Bonus!
Hat is from a store on Brunswick Street in Melbourne. I put it through a hot wash once, which means it now looks far more rascally than it did before, but that’s okay. D&G sunglasses bought on Ebay for 1/3 of the price charged in stores.
Super-love & cupcakes,

Dear Miss Gala
I have read your site from top to bottom, and then from left to right, and found some very helpful advice.
The one problem I seem to have fashion wise is pies. I have eaten a few too many and now have a pie shaped tummy.
My major dilemma is my very rude and nosey dad is coming to stay, and in two weeks while I will try hard there will still be evidence of the pie-fest.
That all said and done, what would be the best way to go about hiding the tummy?
I look forward to your advice.
Regards
Miss Pie Muncher
Dear Miss Pie Muncher,

Where did you get those sandal wedges? and/or where do you suggest one might find some like that? (i.e. a solid colour, not the ones with the cork heel)
Thanks Anna! I bought them from Myer (a department store) in Melbourne. The brand is Melissa. They’re for sale online actually: http://www.melissaaustralia.com.au/2005/store.asp?nav=store&pagetype=subcategory&subcategoryid=1041&categoryid=1003. Only in black & purple, though.
Hi I just discovered this site but I love it
Hm I think this dress would look rather nice if you added a waist belt.
