80’s TEEN MOVIE: A Mixtape!
Last week, I decided to make the ultimate 80’s mixtape. The reason for my madness? Well, I get to flex my funkmaster muscles at The Blogcademy… A little bit. We always have music going during exercises, activities and breaks, and we like it to be upbeat! Usually I just type a random word into 8tracks, cross my fingers and hope for the best. But after too many 80’s slow jams, I decided to take matters into my own hands!
If I had my way, this is what would be playing if I starred in an 80’s teen romantic comedy. For a good chunk of the movie, I would be hanging upside down, off my bed, talking on the phone… And there would definitely have to be a scene at a burger joint with rollerskating waitresses. (I would also have crimped hair and be wearing a lot of neon rubber bracelets at all times.)
This mixtape makes me want to watch every John Hughes movie ever, plus The Wedding Singer, and of course, American Psycho.
“Do you like Phil Collins? I’ve been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that, I really didn’t understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual…”
I hope you enjoy this one! It’s over 3 hours long (!!!) so it will keep your ears busy for a while!
Dancing with tears in my eyes,
