A very wet, stormy & foggy week has finally drawn to a close. If I had to make a guess, I’d say that all of New York City is pretty much officially OVER the weather. Our hair is frizzy, our shoes are soaked, & we’re sick of carrying umbrellas everywhere. We’ve had enough, okay?!
Thankfully, the forecast for the weekend is gloriously hot. It’s Memorial Weekend over here in the USA, so there will be plenty of rooftop parties, barbeques & shopping to keep us all occupied. It should be a jolly good time!
In case you need a little light reading material, I’ve made a list of some of my favourite things this week!
Did you grab your ticket for Mega Love Fest yet?! I can’t wait to talk to you this Sunday!
Playboy has packed up its offices in Chicago & moved to Los Angeles.
There’s a new Wes Anderson movie coming out soon: Moonrise Kingdom. In a brilliant marketing ploy, here’s a mixtape of all the characters’ favourite songs, compiled by the music supervisor!
I found a link to download PDFs of some of Roald Dahl’s best books.
Kris Atomic wrote a brilliant piece on her favourite iPhone photo-editing apps.
I love Stephen King’s tips on how to be a frighteningly good writer.
Googamooga was this food festival in Brooklyn last weekend which… well, there wasn’t enough food. But someone handed out these fake menus which made me laugh & laugh.
Tokyo Disneyland is now allowing gay marriages. YES!!!
Speaking of which, this wedding is gorgeous & makes me happy all the way down to my toes.
“Once a little boy sent me a charming card with a little drawing on it. I loved it. I answer all my children’s letters — sometimes very hastily — but this one I lingered over. I sent him a card and I drew a picture of a Wild Thing on it. I wrote, ‘Dear Jim: I loved your card.’ Then I got a letter back from his mother and she said, ‘Jim loved your card so much he ate it.’ That to me was one of the highest compliments I’ve ever received. He didn’t care that it was an original Maurice Sendak drawing or anything. He saw it, he loved it, he ate it.” (Maurice Sendak)

Sarah Sophie Flicker wrote a fabulous piece on being a girly girl, raising a girl — & all the things which come with it. It’s excellent. She also wrote about conditional versus unconditional love in her family. Good stuff.
These photos of Deborah Lloyd’s country home make me long for a chic rural escape of my own… (She is the Creative Director of Kate Spade so you can only imagine, right?!)
